HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Go to another eye doctor. I waited 5 weeks for the appointment, but when I arrived it wasn't in the system (that day or any day), even though all my background information was correct. So clearly someone forgot to hit the save button when we scheduled the exam. This appointment was an hour drive in heavy rain. While I waited for the receptionist to continue starring at her computer, I got to read the many printed notices to patients that were taped around the office. These notices were obnoxious to say the least. Including a large note saying that if you dared to be cranky they would add a $50 fee to your bill as a fine for bad behavior. When I pointed out that this seemed less than professional I was told in a terse tone of voice that it was joke, that most people "got it", and "... if you had to deal with the people that I have to deal with all day long then you would get it too." This complete lack of professionalism might be okay in a dive bar, but I find it unacceptable in a medical environment where the office is interacting with patients. People have always been mice, quality glasses and frames; even when adjustments become necessary. My wife and I have optician appointments at the location next door, making it easy to go directly to the eye express store. We enjoyed the experience. read more

The doctor wasn't wearing gloves and touched the computer and other things and then touched my face/eyelids during a pandemic. He talked so loudly I let him know I was getting anxious and he did not accommodate in any way. read more

I was kind of nervous about coming here after reading terrible customer service reviews and hearing not so great reviews in person. I work around the corner so I wanted somewhere that was convenient. My first issue with this place is that I took advantage of their online form where you request an appointment and they contact you "shortly" to confirm. I was on day 5 and no one had ever contacted me to confirm my appointment, so I ended up having to call which was annoying only because if you offer online appointments, why not actually have the system work? Their employees were friendly and they have a really great unique selection of glasses from high end name brands to the sex offender type glasses. Kind of pricey, but I think their prices are comparable to other eyeglass shops. Overall, I had a good experience and a thorough eye exam by the doctor. I'm still waiting for my glasses, but I'm sure I will be pleased. read more

Don't waste your time. Not a lot of selection and they lady refused to give me Prescription because I couldn't find any eye glasses I liked and told I would like to go somewhere, she responded with I can't have that info. Which is a lie and I will be making a complaint. By law it say " You are required to provide a patient with a copy of the prescription immediately after the eye examination is completed" read more

Optique Boutique is a wonderful place to get an eye exam and to get glasses. The staff is wonderful and they make you feel at home immediately. The business is a very comfortable place. Dr. Perrault is very professional and thorough. She answers all your questions at a level that is understandable. Helpful and great prices! I went a few year ago to Lenscrafters and really did not like the whole experience. It was expensive and the glasses were only so so. Yes, Optique boutique too a few weeks to get me my glasses but they were perfect and about half the price of that other place. On a fixed income those savings really matter. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. I went in there with my spare pair of glasses that needed some minor repairs (A simple bent hinge, nothing extraordinary.). I figured it was a good opportunity to not only get my spares fixed but to scope out their selection as I'm up for a new pair and wanted to find a new local Optometrist. I usually travel downstate to get frames I like, but since this place was close to my office and seemed lovely on the outside, I gave it a shot. HUGE mistake. I walked in to be greeted by a death glare from a receptionist who offered little to no reception. When I made the mistake of asking her if they repaired frames she was sure to let me know how much my existence bothered her with an eye roll as she grunted "depends under her breath and told me to take a seat. I was then approached by an Optometrist who seemed more concerned about the fact I didn't purchase my frames there than the fact I was not only willing to pay them money to adjust the bent frames, I was also a potential new client. She grabbed the frames out of my hands and told me they would have to remove the lenses to fix the frames (common sense 101. Thanks for the update.). When I continued to still seem interested in giving their business a shot and PAY THEM to fix my minimally bent hinge, she put her hands down in defeat and rudely told me "Your frames could be damaged in the process.". I took a brief look around their dismal "boutique" show room, which consisted of a mere corner of display cabinets that held a depressing array of bland wire frames, accepted that she had no interest in my business, took my glasses back, and wished that insanely rude woman to have a nice day. I went to Lenscrafters after work and my frames were fixed like new 20 minutes later, and I don't even like Lenscrafters. Seriously, run far far away if you're ever considering going to this place. Worst optometry experience I've ever had. read more

While every other retailer was out of solar eclipse glasses, this optometrist offered free glasses for the viewing. They had a stand outside the store and loaned the glasses for as long as you needed. This was a great public service and now, they've more than earned my business. read more

I had the same issue with the online appointment. Nobody got ahold of me. Also called and left a message once and nobody got ahold of me. Good service would have been to know what my vision coverage covered or at least be willing to check for me. I asked their benefit claim person specifically about post lasik sunglasses and she told me no without blinking an eye. Good thing I didn't believe her and checked again. Doctor P is very good and thorough and friendly, I think there is some work to do at the front desk. read more

1. Customer service is awful! None of the employees bothers to say hello or even remotely acknowledges your presence. They also mail you a card that notifies you that your glasses are ready which is not convenient. So, if you're in a hurry because school starts the following week, you'll need to wait for snail mail (Whatever happened to a phone call?)!! Also, when I went to pick up my glasses it was the same treatment. You stand there awkwardly trying to get the lady at the front desks attention who is staring blankly into the computer screen... I could go on but I digress.... I will not be going back there again. If you can go elsewhere I would strongly recommend it. 2. Selection of glasses: very dull. I couldn't find a decent pair of classy tortoiseshell or semi rimmed glasses!!! My boyfriend was also not pleased with the selection and thought it was outdated. 3. Dr. Hunt is probably the best optometrist I have ever had. She is thorough, patient and explains everything necessary. I am a bit of a difficult contact fit and she has worked with me and offered different options to try in order to get the best comfort bit as well as best vision. The staff is fantastic as well. Very competent and friendly with thoroughness. Compared glass vs contact price based on my insurance and suggested which was the better way to go to maximize my insurance benefits. Completely impressed with their in depth knowledge of insurance plans. I do not hesitate to recommend Optique Boutique. May be worth checking out to compare expertise as well as the customer service even if you already have an optometrist and definitely worth checking out if you don't! read more

I've always had pleasant experiences here. The staff are efficient and are helpful whenever I have questions. I've never had to wait too long to get an appointment. One time my glasses broke and I called in to figure out my options. One staff person explained to me what my insurance covers, gave me important information about my prescription on the phone, and made reasonable suggestions. I was able to get an appointment asap and a new pair of glasses within a week. Furthermore, I like their selection of glasses- they are pretty trendy (e.g. cat eyes, vibrant colors) with a good of number options. I don't know much about their contact lense services because I don't wear those but I've been satisfied with the services I've received. I'm not giving it 5 stars because sometimes I feel kind of rushed to pick out a pair of glasses or feel like I can't linger for too long when I'm browsing (the space is small and that can make it awkward). Also, the office overall isn't as "perky" as other health offices in Albany, and sometimes I need perky because any kind of heath-related appointment can be stressful. read more
