Not much to "see" around here. That's right! This store doesn't even allow you to enter and look at frames unless you have an appt. Not one customer in the store but a security guard and a worker playing on her computer. Not even an "I'm sorry" just "make an appt, bye!" You, Lens Crafters, lost yourself a customer. Listen, I had an issue with the one pair of glasses I bought. The lens cracked and my vision was being affected. It was a bad lens and glasses combo that caused this. Lenscrafters had me come in to make sure that what I said was indeed happening. I went in, almost a 1 hour trip. Yes, confirmed. Ordered new lenses. Great. Waited for them and went back as soon as they let me know the lenses arrived. They were the wrong prescription in the lenses! At this point I would have given a 1 star. However, I wanted to wait to see how this all ended. A new pair of glasses was ordered, complete new pair, and that was very amenable to me. When my glasses came in, they were going to UPS me the new pair, overnight service. So, my glasses came in and a note was left for the person, Kevin, to take them to the carrier. The carrier was NOT specified on the note! So he took them to USPS and called me to let me know. It was all I could do to not get angry. I went over it with Kevin that UPS will get them to me the next day...USPS will get them to me?, who knows! Kevin went to USPS and got the glasses that he mailed back! Then, someone else drove an almost 1 hour trip, one way, to bring me my glasses!! I didn't expect that! That went above and beyond what could have been expected! I am forever grateful for this level of care from Kevin and the gal that actually drove the glasses to me, they get a 5 star! read more

I got the Versace glasses I wanted . They didn't have them in the store so they had to order them and I customized my glasses and was told they would be shipped to my house in 7-10 days they we not shipped to my house instead I received a text message saying they were at the store ready for pick up . Not sure what happened there ? The glasses were very expensive in the tune of 708.58 . I'm not sure why they were so expensive so I asked and was told oh it's your prescription that's a lot along with the progressive lens . My prescription was 385.00 not sure why . It was never that expensive ever before anywhere else , if I really didn't want these Versace frames I would have went to Warbey Parker but unfortunately they don't carry Versace frames . read more

Made it difficult to obtain my prescription which they botched anyway. Wouldn't email. Made me come to store to get prescription then informed me the doctor forgot the Add for progressives. Told me I had to come in on a Saturday for a "re-exam". I managed to get the Add 'script, which they tried to hide, by looking at my expired 'script on the screen. Never going there again. Lens Crafters - Colonie Center location. While the service was decent, I found the store to be filthy. At 10:00 when they open. there is no reason for the floor to be stained with food and drink and the trash cans overflowing. The place was so dirty I wasn't comfortable putting my face up to the equipment. Even the sample glasses were full of finger prints where they were wiped in a while. No pride taken in the appearance of the store. Very disappointing. read more

Went in today for an eye exam for the first time since I was a kid because my eyes have gotten worse with time, and I need them to drive now. They were very welcoming, made me feel at ease, and didn't make me feel judge despite my insecurities for missing check ups for so long. Would highly recommend them. read more

Order frames lenses etc a couple of days prior to my eye exam. Get my exam and inform the doctor and the person checking me out at the end that I have an existing order just copy the script to the order, get told OK yet i received numerous emails afterward asking for the script. Then i fill out the form stating what doctor I saw and when so they could call their own office for the script they already have. Again... new emails asking for the script info take a photo and upload and its nearly a week later. Never seen such total apathy and disconnection in my life after having been physically in the office no one can make a connection after ive spent my money. Overall the appointment went OK, I wasnt rushed but it was about 20 minutes after my appointment time that I was called, not a biggie until you add it to my missing information for my order delaying everything. read more

Devices are so filthy. Doctors do not care. It seems nobody ever did a thorough clean to those devices. It is less likely to get accurate prescription using these filthy devices. There was a black female staff, so impatient and grumpy. When you were following her instruction to go through those tests, she just kept tapping on the desk, like a demon trying to swallow your soul! Ripping you off. Paid 600 dollars for a pair of glasses and it does not fit! This place is just a bunch of amateurs trying to rip you off. Stay away, for your time, for your eyes, for your money! read more

I went in two days ago to get my glasses that I purchased there a month ago, adjusted. I walked out got in my car and started driving and realized one of my lenses were damaged. the person was supposed to remove the lenses before heating the frames to adjust them. the heat causes damage to lenses and now I can't see out of that lens. I called the store no one answered I had to leave a message and explained what happened. two days no one called finally someone called with serious attitude and more or less accused me of damaging them myself. I don't even think the idiot knew I had been in the store for an adjustment. I'm so done with lenscrafters!!!! glasses are expensive, these are your eyes for god sake and they don't care!!!! stay away, they don't care and are very overpriced!!! Warby Parker here I come!!!!! I would not recommend this store to anyone. After an eye appointment I was told that I needed another appointment to get my glasses purchased because frames were only covered every two years. I had to wait til April 26 th. I asked if I could make an appointment while I was there and was told no because they were short staffed and I would need to call closer to April 26th. I decided the next day to just pay for the frames out of pocket. So I called twice and left a message and no call back. I stopped at the store again only to find it closed an hour earlier. Tried to get my frames at another store only to be told none of my information from my exam was loaded in the system yet from March 20 th. So the Colonie store is basically holding my prescription hostage. read more

So I made an appointment for 6:30 on a Thursday night. I made such a late appointment so I could secure a ride home in the case of dilation without making anyone take time off work - including me. Bonus for appointments late enough in the evening to be after work. The appointment started with the normal paperwork and such. Then a pre-exam with one of the ladies working there - the basic depth perception, blow the air in the eye stuff. The woman who did it was pleasant and made sure I was comfortable with everything. They offer two options for the next part - dilation or a picture of your eye. I hate, hate, hate having my eyes dilated so opted for the slight extra cost of the picture. It was quick and easy. A bright green flash in each eye and we were done. No worse than a bright flash on a camera. Dr. Fillion saw me shortly after the pre-exam. He was great and explained everything and even let me check out the pictures they took of my eye (they looked similar to an X-Ray). He was patient while I made him flip back and forth between option 1 and 2, etc. After the appointment a very nice man met me to help pick out glasses. I think his name was John, but I am not certain. Either way, he was fabulous. He picked out a few options, let me show him what I liked, and within 15 minutes I had picked out a new pair of glasses. He provided great guidance and wasn't pushy at all. All in all, within an hour I had gone from paperwork to picking out a new pair of glasses. I went to eat dinner and when I returned, the glasses were done - within the 30 minutes they promised. Definitely a great visit! read more

These people have been great to work with. Right from the start, they treated me as if I were the only customer in the shop, never rushing me, helping me pick out the perfect frames. My pair of glasses were mixed up - wrong lenses in incorrect frames. LensCrafters noticed the problem and agreed to fix it for me. They also provided me with a partial refund because of their mistake. I never asked for it. They offered. It's nice when a large company shows that it cares about individual customers. After wearing the glasses for a week, I decided my frames weren't going to work out. Once again, they were awesome to deal with. I worked with 3 different salespeople and each of them offered the same great level of customer service. I will definitely be back. read more

I don't usually give 5 stars, but this place deserves it for their efficiency, professionalism and their honesty. They have been able to make perfect glasses for me while other vision places have failed. Also they gave me a refund after I made an order without fully understanding the numbers given me. When I got home I realized that I had spent more than I needed to and I called them. So, I always find it interesting when an organization that offers free service on their product really doesn't understand the value of it. Went in today at 11:30...looking for a glasses adjustment, as I'm about to go on a trip and wanted my glasses fitting right....there were 2 people sitting at the adjustment area....obviously I have to wait....ok...I get it. I was told by their greeter...."I was told by my manager that we aren't doing any more adjustments till after 2:00 pm".... Let's explore this statement 1. Do you think that's a convenient time for me? Nope I'm here now...I'd be happy to wait....but it wasn't offered 2. Do you know who I am as a customer? Nope...you didn't explore this...but I have 2 children and a wife and we all wear glasses or contact lenses and until recently purchased them all from you....recently because of a poor experience ordering contact lenses we have now moved to online ordering. That's about $600 per year you lost there... 3. now onto the other purchases you were getting from me....once a year eye exams, insurance covered most ....but it's still your income stream...just not directly from me....I can get this anywhere..... 4. Glasses....I haven't walked out of there without spending between $300-400 per person per year x 4= $1,600 per year....x number of years...you start to get the picture.... So..your manager who told you to say that....not very bright. You think you sell a product, glasses...when you actually sell a customer experience...and you completely failed at it.....last 2x we have tried..... We will find a private eye doctor for,our exams....and will attempt to stay away from anything Luxotica for frames etc....difficult but not impossible... read more

First time I'm trying to get glasses and have my eyes tested I was recommended and referred to Crossgates Mall location but regret it as soon as my eyes were tested from the way they speak to you in that condescending way belittling you and not having your best interest so do yourself a favor save yourself some time and go elsewhere or you could try it for yourself and maybe have better luck than me The experience I have the year I do not wish it on anyone else I would remember it for the rest of my life it was that horrible it was like I was in a twilight zone read more

Well, trip one went fine to get glasses - Follow-up service was not to write home about, but let others know about. Was told that the scratch on my glasses wasn't covered because I didn't get the insurance policy, even though they came scratch resistant - was told that this scratch wasn't covered "because it wasn't 'normal'" I would had to have thrown them against something to cause this - So right there they are stating I'm lying to them. Then they keyed some stuff in and showed me price for new lenses - Um, don't need new lenses - just one, the one with a scratch - was told 'we don't make single lenses there' - are you kidding me ?? First you say I'm lying, now you're lying right to my face - It's LensCrafters the place that makes your lenses in one hour , and since each eye is a different script level they are single lenses. WOULD NEVER do business with this place EVER again!! read more

Great experience. They genuinely cared about me! Went above and beyond to find me the right frames and lenses to meet my needs. You might pay a little more, but I would expect that for designer frames and the best lenses. The value and experience is worth every penny. read more

I did not get an eye exam, but I can say they have amazing sales and customer service. The sales person was not at all pushy, only discussed lenses that made sense for me, and did not push extra packages/stuff. I got my new glasses, wore them for a week, and they HURT! I brought them back with an old pair of glasses that I love. The optometrist spent a 10 solid minutes getting the new pair just like the old pair. Now, they are perfect! Thank you! read more

My 91 year old mother scratched the lens on her Anne Klein sunglasses purchased at the store. Theses are not prescription lenses. They wanted to charge $150.00 for new non- prescription lenses. I verified that price 3 times. JUST LENSES! Then she tried to sell me a new pair of sunglasses!!!! Went to Walmart paid $40.00. Mom is happy and I am happy! The staff are trained to squeeze every last cent from the customer. I have insurance that allows me to get an eye exam and glasses once a year. When I went to LensCrafters I felt like I was entering a battle. I should easily be able to get a new pair of glasses without having to pay out of pocket but would have paid $100s for no reason unless I was really paying attention and checking everything. I am not picky about the look of my glasses and have a simple near-sighted prescription so there is no reason why it should have been difficult to get a new pair that was completely covered by my eye benefits. If you don't mind being hustled by staff that are skilled in up-selling this is the place to go. read more

I had a condition that required MRI to determine diagnosis and my new provider couldn't have been more helpful or professional. Today I called because I cannot for the life of me find my contacts and I have a wedding in 4 days. I have searched my entire apartment and couldn't find them. I ordered my contacts but it said I wouldn't have them by the time the wedding was going to be here!!! I called and asked what I can do or how I can get a pair of contacts before Friday. Well Patrick and my doctor decided to give me a trail pair since I have been going there for years and so I would be fine for the wedding!!!!! They made my entire week and I am just so happy that I don't have to wear my glasses for pictures. read more

I was told my trial pair of contacts would be in no later than last Friday. So I called Friday when they weren't in they said they may be in Saturday or Monday and they would call me when they were in. Today rolls around and I call and my contacts are in but, they never called me to let know. I then was told I couldn't get an appointment until tomorrow to fit my contacts so now I either go late in to my job tomorrow or I have to wait until Friday for an appointment. Not only do they have terrible customer service but, they seemed not to even care about working with you as a customer. I do not recommend this place whatsoever and it will be the last time I ever come back.... read more

I have not once had a more pleasant experience at ANY Dr.s office! The staff at colonie center lenscrafters was phenomenal. Shawn was delightful throughout the pre exam, made you feel as if you were talking to someone you had known for years, very comfortable and professional and gave me a few good laughs throughout the visit. Dr Sienko was just as pleasant, very friendly and informative answering all my questions patiently and made me feel like top priority. She even took me out into colonie center with the mirror while trying out colored contacts to get better light :D I can't remember the name of the woman who helped me with picking out my glasses, she was again just as friendly, patient with me and my budget, going through prices of different prices to see what works best for me. She was just as prompt at getting an eta for my new pair which were done in 20 minutes after we had finished! ( still enough time to look at puppies at everything pets though!) and finally I believe Meghan helped me fit my glasses. They fit beautifully and she was very cheerful through our interaction. Overall fantastic experience, can't wait to come back next year!! read more
