This review is not for the actual store but rather for the actual company and their customer service. I applied for the new promo they had ( 1gb internet + their mobile service) which seemed a good idea. Man let me tell you, that was a terrible idea after all. Plan was supposed to be $65 a month and that's it. They told me installation was free. Free. Not that I'd be credited or anything like that. Free. I decided to go with them. I prepaid $80 because I didn't feel comfortable enough to give my ssn thru the phone. They said the $80 would go towards the next bill. All good till there. Installer comes on the 10th of February does the installation, all good. On the 13th of February I get my first bill. Damn that was quick, lol. Guess how much my bill is ( it was supposed to be under $68 in two separate bills, one for the internet one for mobile including taxes) ? Actual bill is $197and that's just the internet one. Can't wait to get my mobile bill. What ?! I call 'em up. The first rep doesn't do great job to explain my bill so I ask for a supervisor ( thinking they'd know how things work and would be able to help me). Her name Aynne , she couldn't provide me with her employer id but she gave me the "conversation id: 9425. Man she told me I could get more help in their website than actually talking with a supervisor at their billing department. Crazy. She told me that they charged me for the installation. It would reflect in my next two months or so! I told her that doesn't make sense, her response: bill is already generated. Damn. Ok. 197- 100( which I'll be credited someday)= $97. Again that's just for the internet. Aynne told me that there a partial charge 02/11-02/15 in the amount of $14. I asked her why she said you're supposed to sign up either the first of the month or the 15th of the month. Well, no one told me that. But still not a biggie. $97-$14= $83. Again ( I can't say this enough, just the internet, the mobile will be a separate bill), price doesn't add up. I told her I'm supposed to be charged only $48 max for the internet only. She again replied: bill is already generated, can't do anything about it. I told her, in their website and in their tv adds this was the plan they were offering. Aynne apologized but seemed like she couldn't or didn't know how to change it. She told me in the next month I should get a credit in the amount approximately $30. I guess I won't get the $100 credit for the installation next month?! She could even tell me the exact amount. And she's the supervisor of the billing department. When I told her that she offered to transfer me to the mobile department. OMG. What on earth could they do?!. Now I can't wait till my next bill. See that nothing has changed, call them again and hear from them : bill is already generated, can't do anything about it. Save the headache people, stay away from optimum. read more

Switching back to Verizon. Unless you have no alternative, you definitely want to avoid Optimum altogether. Optimum, who cared about customers when they were Cablevision, is owned by Altice and is now the opposite of Stew Leonard's (who is the definition of awesome!). At Stew Leonard's, "the customer is always right", at Optimum now the customer is always wrong! Spoke with three service reps and a supervisor who each came up with excuses/reasons to defend why Optimum charged $30 in late/service fees even though I never received any bill or email for two months after Optimum installed service. First rep said bills were emailed as I signed up for paperless billing but I received no emails until a late notice email came 60 days after installation. Second rep couldn't identify any emails before the late notice but said they must have mailed my bill(s) and it was my problem if I didn't receive the bill(s). Third "customer " rep said it was my responsibility to go online to find out how much I owed and pay as Optimum wasn't required to send a bill. When I asked for a Supervisor, I was told no supervisor was available and someone would call me in 24-48 hours. After refusing to accept that answer, a supervisor gets on and defended the $30 in fees as "policy" and nothing I could say would change that. Please note I paid the full amount the day I got the first email from Optimum of the amount due. $20 of the late/service fees were charged after and for the next billing period after I paid the full amount due. Well, lucky for me AMEX has awesome customer service and disputed/credited the $30 of the payment I made. On top of this, I pay for 400mps internet and the speed test says 97mps download and 74mps upload. Optimum is "junk" best left on the curb. Can't wait to return to FIOS! There's no better service than FIOS, there's no better service than FIOS! read more

I have a big complaint about Optimum because of how they try to mislead you. I recently canceled my service except for the internet. When I dropped off the boxes a representative said I would get a better deal if I switched my cell phone to their service. They don't bother to tell you that they don't have cellular service. You must be near Optimum wifi for your cell to have service. I didn't realize this so I took the phone back to the store & the Rep there said if I turn off the wifi when I leave my house it will work outside. It was on for a little while as I drove home then it went off again. I called for help over the phone . They Rep tried several different things from wherever he was then told me to go outside. Of course the call dropped. He tried to call me back several times . I couldn't hear him and maybe he couldn't hear me so he gave up trying to reach me. So today I made another trip to the store to get my transfer # so I could switch back to my reliable service. Of course they couldn't give me the number. I had to call myself for it. I did & the Rep on the phone continued to try to convince me to stay with the service. I said please just give me the number I need to get off this plan but he continued to try to make a deal with me. After he realized I was getting angry he said he would send the number to my email, which I never got. So I had to call again & explained what happened to the new Rep & since he could tell I was very frustrated he gave me the number right away. I'm so happy I'm back to Metro PCS. I've been with them for many years & never had a problem. I learned my lesson, the hard way. The thing that bothered me the most is that every one of these Reps knew the reason my phone didn't have service outside yet they made believe that they could fix it. Never again! read more

I have optimum for many years because they are the monopoly in town. I signed up for paperless invoice and up until June, I received email notification of invoice/statement and paid accordingly. But I had not received any bill and statement since then. They do send out paper reminder when it is over due. And when I received the paper notification I paid right the way. But it was late. They charged me a $10 late fee. I called to dispute it because it was them who failed to send the invoice. But the customer service was adamant that it was my fault, telling me that when I don't see the bill, I should go online, or their channel 900 to look for the bill and pay it. I don't know about you. But if you have relied on their notification to trigger the payment and when they failed to send out invoice, I don't think I should be penalized for their mistake. This accounts to screwing the customer. Very bad! Wish competitions would arrive soon so I can stay away from this shitty outfit. read more

f I could give them less stars, I would. They are a communications company that can't send an email or make a phone call. They are an internet provider that can't provide working internet service. 6 service calls in he first month and they don't understand why I'm upset. I have spoken with tech, billing, credit, retention, and the fiber team. None could provide anything other than, "I will open a ticket for you." They can't or won't help, but it's frustrating and really disgusting in this age. I can't image how they are still in business. The WORST EVER ! EVERY CONTACT WAS A LIE. This is the only communication/phone company that can't manage to send an email or accept a phone call. INCREDIBLE! The team told me days ago that I would be receiving an email confirming cancellation and refund. NEVER ARRIVED. Not surprising, everything else has been so horrible, why would this be any different? #worstcompanyever #stillwaiting #honestyisapparentlynotthebestpolicy read more

I have been with optimum the past four years and have had mediocre service. When moving in August i went to switch to its competitor and they offered me a loyalty move credit of $34 off my 76 per month bill . When i received my first bill it was $90 which is even more than i usually pay so where there promised $34 discount . I waited an hr to speak to a rep who told me they upgraded me to a new plan $30 more so the discount was canceled or without my permission they switched my entire plan to charge more . How unprofessional and sneaky . I was told i also rent a modem and to buy one to save the rental fee. I purchased the modem and have been on hold for 1 hr and 41 min trying to activate the new modem . All i get is the round about and when you want to upgrade they pick up within three min . But to assist the clients you already have one hr and forty min and i had to hang up and go to work . Stay far away from this unprofessional company . read more

If you want to make your life infinitely worse, this is the company for you!!! Listen, I totally get that the people running this company are twisted, sadistic demons that get off on other people's pain. I get that. I really do. But do they have to make the service THAT bad? This company actively TRIES to give you the worst service imaginable and by all means, they succeed with flying colors. I'm almost impressed. It's truly amazing how they've tricked everyone into paying money for garbage. Ooh if I had a dime for every night I ended up watching a movie on my phone because my internet and cable decided to stop working. Do not do this to yourself. Go with verizon. I repeat, GO WITH VERIZON. Save yourself from ever having to deal with this service. I so badly regret choosing to go with optimum and I cannot wait until I never have to deal with the issues that it has caused ever again read more

I have been on hold for one hour with this company. I have no internet and I have conference calls all day from home. Additionally, two weeks ago I had no internet for one whole week, and now you have the nerve to increase my bill by $25, for no reason? A terrible company. read more
