This review is long over due. I have been coming here for years. The owner of this store is a good man. His staff is warm and friendly. They are very helpful. Their selection of glasses always impresses me. read more

Everyone working here is wonderfully attentive, friendly and helpful. The doctor was very thorough and helped me right away when I came back several days after my initial visit because the lenses felt a bit off. He was patient in explaining to a lay person precisely what was going wrong with my vision and how to correct it. The staff behind the counter were great, helping me go through what felt like hundreds of pairs of frames with all of us weighing in on what looked best. It was actually pretty fun, and I walked out purchasing two beautiful pairs of glasses (I get compliments all of the time!) because of their extraordinary customer service, and also because the Yelp deal made the exam/frames a lot more affordable. And to top it all off, they called within a couple of days after my lenses were readjusted to make sure all was fine. Thanks to Optical Warehouse, I can now read street signs again. I will absolutely return here in the future. read more

It's never a dull day with my chinky eyes. Something always flys in it. Pick out my new frames following week.

This place is wonderful! My first experience was dropping in to see if they could fix my treasured sunglasses that I had broken. They fixed them in 2 minutes and wouldn't let me pay anything. I came back to them a few months later to get glasses with an updated prescription. The sales associates were super friendly and helped me find the perfect frames. I've also stopped in on several occasions to have the frames fitted better to my face. They are always so nice when helping me. I couldn't have asked for better service right in my neighborhood. read more

I love it here! Going back to get an eye check up and new pair of glasses very soon!

PROCEED WITH CAUTION GIVING OUT WRONG PRESCRIPTIONS NO REFUNDS WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES CALL CUSTOMERS LIARS I went to get my eyes checked, glasses and contacts. Dr. Yu asked if I knew what it was and I said no I need you to give it to me by testing my eyes. She then rushed through the test, gave me a pair of contacts to put in and wrote out a prescription. I ended up spending $700 on glasses and the tests. I went home and looked at the old prescription and she was off my almost 2 full strengths. I do not know what would have happened to me because I could not see 20/20 and had nothing to see with except a wrong pair of contacts. I called the store and told them to wait on creating the lenses for the glasses while I find time to figure out the right prescription. Now I've found out that they give no refunds. The only way I can get my glasses is to deal with them further. I use my eyes for my job and have wasted many hours dealing with this company. They are not doing a good job at making any accommodations to a mistake by letting me take my business else where. read more

I have been going here for years. The service is friendly and the girls are very professional. In fact it was the "vibe" of these girls and the nice "helpful ' service that kept me coming back. Both my teenage kids had checkups & glasses and were always pleased . I was always contacted when my items were ready and reminded when I forgot. . Thanks for great service Theresa Z read more

it's my fourth time I turn to this place for a new glasses. It's great! The salespersons are very friendly and knowledgeable. And they're super fast! I placed an order yesterday, and today I got a call that my glasses are ready! read more

The reason I've been coming back here for years is the excellent service--it feels increasingly rare to find people who are experts in their field and manage to be incredibly friendly and generous with their time to boot, and the staff at the Greenpoint Optical Warehouse do it consistently. I really recommend making this your local spot for eye care. read more

The ladies who work here are very nice and helpful. There is almost no wait time and every time I had an appointment I was taken within 5-10 mintues of my appointment time. I would recommend this place. I have been to the 2 other optical places in greenpoint and this one by far has the best service. read more

I will give this store 3 stars because I got a 5 star exam. The doctor was thorough, pleasant and informative. There was no hard sell, he actually told me I would be okay with me current reading glasses if I decided not to fill the prescription but the new lenses would be more comfortable because they were tailored to me. Additionally, the full exam was covered by my insurance. The reason I left off the other 2 starts is because the sales staff turned my experience there into a negative one... Initially, I asked if my current reading glasses would be sufficient for the new prescription. Initially they said yes, but after I completed my exam, they said that they would not work and I would need to purchase new frames. This I expected because , well, they sell frames. After getting the estimate of over double what I walked in there expecting to spend, they told me they would give $100 off the full amount IF I committed that day to the purchase. I told them that I needed to think about it as it is a big expense and would they honor that price if I came back the next day (at that point my eyes were dilated and I couldn't really see the frames they had me try on). They said no, the price was only good for that moment. I'm not sure how that hard sell has worked for them in the past but I left with my script and took it along with my reading glasses to a small shop in Fort Greene and they said they could use my frames no problem. Customer service is everything! read more

This establishment has been in my neighborhood for over 10 years and it's a true greenpoint GEM. Unfortunately, my vision is really impaired and I seek the service of the doctor at this store as well as the opticians frequently. Everyone is very friendly and I feel like I am being treated with respect and dignity every time I am there. The doctor is most pleasant and knowledgeable! It is a truly wonderful experience and I look forward to my visits. Thank you all for preserving the old fashion charm inside your store! read more

Don't like this place. Felt like then guy that helped me was rushing me and a bit rude. No thanks!

Recently had an appointment here and everything was great. The staff were very nice and welcoming. They checked insurance to make sure what was covered and informed me. The doctor was very nice and sweet. She also did a great job explaining to me the changes I had in vision and corrective plan. Plus my appointment took a half hour! They don't waste your time here and I love that. read more

I'm sorry to see the other reviews here. I've been coming here for 6 years, since I first moved to Greenpoint, and have always received excellent service (as I did today.) The staff is very helpful and patient. They are willing to let me try on a gazillion pairs of glasses and always give me really great guidance regarding what styles fit my face. They have a great warranty program, offering to fix your glasses if they break and they give you half-off your next pair if you lose them. They've even fixed my glasses for free after they were out of warranty. (Not sure if this is their policy or if they were just being nice that day.) I'm not Polish, but I received friendly, professional treatment every time. read more

I am surprised at the negative reviews and in fact its why I am writing this one, so as to right the ship. I wouldnt have even seen this but I forgot the name of the place and came here to look it up because I am reordering contacts for like the third time from them I have used this store for Glasses and contact lenses. I had passed the store numerous times and after losing my last pair of glasses over a year ago I needed replacements quickly. I decided to get an exam to refresh the prescription if necessary. While getting the exam I expressed interest in contacts as well though I had never worn them before and needed guidance and advice. From the doctor who did the exam as well as the Owner/Mgr who I dealt with and even the women in the white coats as described in the other review, I received nothing but helpful and more importantly, HONEST advice and service. Aside from the glasses which have been great, the contacts process ; especially the trial period went very well. I requested a different configuration after the first trial pair and they were quick to do it and order the second trial pair to make sure all would be good with them for me. I have reordered my contacts through them a couple of times now and there's never been a problem. Once I had to have the glasses adjusted and even that was done quickly and with a decent attitude.Their prices are reasonable and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs glasses or contacts. read more

This place was great, i was in and out in 20 mins. The staff was courteous , professional and knowledgeable, they even gave me a great discount on some really cool frames. I would highly recommend them if ever you are in the Greenpoint area and it you'r not they are actually worth the trip. read more

I was checking neighborhood but i ALWAYS come back to Optical Warehouse because they are the best, best selection of frames, excellent prices and very helpful and friendly staff.
