Hi James Ho I don't know how to start my" EXPIRIANNE" or better Very Bad Customer Service on Friday August 06 2021. Just remanding to you begore two weeks I am coming on your store and talking with you abate my experience of what has happened in the last six months regarding ordering glasses. We also talked about scratches on the glasses. You were very kind and you wanted to help me, that is, to make a very nice customer service and you succeeded. You ordered new glasses and I got a call that they had arrived and I came on Friday to finish what we started around the glasses. As soon as I walked in the first thing that bothered me a lot was that your two working women I think are the boss and the man I think is a worker. The boss told him through body language that he would serve me. after I understood that body language I raised my hands and apologized for coming to the store but I said I came by invitation.I explained to the gentleman why I was here he asked for his phone number to look at my filly. He told me to see that I needed to change my glasses. I told him since I have a bad experience with these glasses I don't want to give them I want to put these new glasses in another frame. Since it took me five times to come and get it all fixed so I could finally use my glasses I don't want to give these now which are good for me and that I have a problem again and have to come a few times again. I don't want to give you my old glasses and put on new glasses or I can buy a frame and put on new glasses but I don't want this old one because I don't want to come again a few times until you get everything in order. The worker went to the boss and told her what I wanted she came to me and I explained to her the same thing I had told the previous worker. The boss told me that the worker at the next table would help me, she would be informed about my situation. I said okay wait, I looked at that worker because I know she heard it to greet her but unfortunately she ignored me. I thought the office was busy when she finished she would look at me and greet me but unfortunately nothing. Now it was already suspicious to me why he was ignoring me. She finished with the customer and still nothing went to the other side to clean the glasses. I saw her boss come over and point to me. Which I realized was telling her she should serve me. I could see in the body of my speech that the worker was not happy to nod her head, which I realized would not serve me. Again through the body of the speech I realized that the boss was telling her she had to. She waved angrily again, but the boss went to serve another customer with the explanation that a worker would come and help me with my glasses. She didn't want to look at me even though I was trying to catch her gaze. At one point she even looked at me but quickly turned around because she saw that I was looking at her. When she did that, I realized that she wouldn't serve me angrily and I got up hurt and I told my boss that it was a very ugly favor from her worker and that I didn't want to stay in the store for a minute. The boss tried to stop me but I really couldn't stay because the most horrible service I experienced was in your store. Believe me, it is not easy for me to come to your store so many times and say that how it is not good but I don't have choice. You have to understand me glasses are not shoes or a dress that is something that is very important for my life and I have to do it so that I am satisfied so that I can see well how I could drive to work and everything else I need. Secondly, the glasses are very expensive and if I already pay that much I want to be satisfied. I have never had a problem like this I have been coming to your store for ten years. It was always no problem to order a pick up and go. It is for this reason that I have returned to you and I have recommended you to many of my customers and workers. But this time there really was too much trouble but I understood and I was patient. But what your worker did was really very unproven and very ugly. If she is not patient with customers then she needs to change her office job where she will not be in contact with people. She insulted me a lot and I had to write this for you to know. I don't understand how this place has such good reviews. I had ordered 2 different trial contact lenses to try out. A few weeks later, I called for an update to see if they were in yet. When I called they told me they "couldn't find my file", and even tried to make it seem like I went to a different location (I didn't). I gave them all the information I could- who did my eye exam, who I spoke to in store, what day and time my appointment was for, etc (I even had my receipts on hand). I spoke to 2-3 different people on the phone, and it seemed like none of them talked to each other. Then miraculously the next day, they had my trials in store, and I picked them up. Now fast forward to today, I call because I liked my 2nd pair of trials and wanted to order them. But of course, when I call today they "can't find my file". I start getting a little bit frustrated on the phone, because I thought after the last mess of an experience, they would make sure they had all my information on file- and Victor (i remember him from last time), kept telling me that this is the first time he's hearing about it, even though it was him who I dealt with last time. Definitely won't be giving them my business any further. Terrible customer service, and incredibly disorganized. Such a bummer, I really wanted to have a good experience. I just feel very inconvenienced and NOT taken care of. read more

What can I say about Optical Thirty 8, the Queen Street location that anyone who's given a 5 star rating hasn't said? This may sound repetitive with some of the other posts but this place is the best! The service is impeccable! Dr. Hughes, the optometrist is well knowledge and wants to help you understand your eyes. Dave, the optician is extremely personable (look up "personable" and look at the synonyms, he is all that too!) and he was very knowledgeable as well, he even tuned up and cleaned up my own eyeglasses that I walked in with. These people gave great service and knew their stuff, a combination not always found together in my experience. If you think great service means this place is really expensive... why don't you tell me! I paid $75 to see the optometrist and paid $146 for 2 pairs of eyeglasses, one with additional blue light coating and the other with transition lenses. Sounds unreal, it's because they have a promotion they used on my purchase and my eyeglasses are not designer (I abuse my eyeglasses so no point in buying expensive frames.) I also received a free trial pair of contact lenses (I wear contacts too) that the optometrist recommended and they're great. I'm gonna go back and try another brand of contact lenses to see if I like that better when I pick up my new glasses...Yay! read more

This place is wonderful.I have to give optical 38 a great review. I went in around christmas to get my eyes examined, and then picked out a pair of glasses. the optician and staff at optical 38 were very friendly and professional. They helped me search for glasses, and even took a few pictures on their ipad, so I could better see what certain frames looked like on me. They had a very good selection of frames as well. After I picked out my frames, they let me know about a few deals/sales that they had, and made sure that I got the deal that would save me the most on my frames. I only had to wait about a week for my frames. They even adjusted an old pair of glasses I had, for free, as well as giving me a few freebees of glasses cleaner, and a few other items. I ended up having a slight issue with the prescription that I received, so I phoned in, and they were very accommodation, and offered to give me a another eye exam for free to double check my prescription. they ended making another lens with a slight adjustment. The whole time I was there, I was treated in a professional and friendly manner, and the staff genuinely seemed happy and eager to help. They even offer you tea while you wait. read more

Had the same problem as some other folk below. Maybe they're too busy? After an eye exam (which was fine, thorough), I ordered contacts. Or so I thought. I called twice to ask about my order and was told that they just hadn't arrived yet. After 3.5 weeks, I thought that it was taking too long and finally reached the person in charge of my original "order." I was told that she didn't realize I wanted to order and thought we hadn't decided what I was going to do. ??? I went to get my eyes checked so that I could order contacts. Uuuum. No. So I emailed King West Eye Care with my prescription, they ordered for me the same day (all via email), and I received my contacts in only 3 days, plus they later mailed me a rebate coupon without my even inquiring (and that I would never have known about, except they bothered to send it to me!) Check out King West Eye Care for sure. While Optical Thirty8 had nice enough folk (and not pushy), I just won't go back to a place that couldn't keep track of the fact that they'd never ordered for me in the first place when there is much better, EFFICIENT service at King West Eye Care that is just as friendly!! read more

I was referred to come here from more than two people who have told me the service and prices were great and they are! I felt so welcomed and valued there, there wasn't a long wait at all - I didnt even have to wait long to schedule an appointment. Also, the lady doctor there was great and helped me a lot with figuring out what prescription I had. Afterwards, another lady helped me find glasses and she helped me immediately find ones that I loved. And although the price was a little over my coverage, she brought the price down to make it more affordable for me. I really appreciated that as well. The glasses were ready a day before they were supposed to be and I loved that even more! And I also had amazing customer service coming in again to pick them up. And I love that the lady that helped me pick my glasses remembered me as well. Everyone there is very genuine and it made getting glasses enjoyable. I will now be a committed customer whenever I need anything for the future. And I SERIOUSLY recommend this place for people to try out. Such great deals and good name brand glasses! read more

This is the first time ever that I felt compelled to write a review on any business. The staff at Optical Thirty8 are phenomenal! I went in on a Monday, chose multiple frames and requested that I pick them up for Wednesday since I would be moving out of Toronto in a matter of days. When I arrived on Wednesday the frames were not ready, however, the staff apologized profusely and offered to drop everything off at my work when it was done in the lab. Sure enough just over an hour later one of their staff was at my work with my glasses in hand and complimentary home care products to spare. They were extremely helpful right from the time I walked in, honored my Groupon voucher with no questions asked (or any restrictions for that matter) and went above and beyond on all fronts. Went here this week and had a great experience having an eye exam! Looked around a lot online before deciding where to go and with their $85 exam price and positive reviews online I went with Optical Thirty 8 at their Queen St. West location. As soon as I got there I was greeted and someone offered me water, or tea while I waited. Then I was seen by Dr. Chen who did an amazing job doing my exam, listening to my concerns, making me comfortable and seeming like he genuinely wanted to help me and figure out the issue I've been having with my eye. Instead of brushing off my concerns, or giving me a quick answer which has happened in the past, he really took his time to get to the bottom of my issue and gave me multiple options to help correct it. When we were finished another very nice employee took my measurements and someone again gave me water. Overall I highly recommend coming here for an eye exam for fantastic service and a great price! read more

I decided to try Optical Thirty 8 (Queen St. location) after reading the great reviews online as I needed somewhere closer to my new place. I had an eye exam last Tuesday, as I was choosing my prescription eye glasses the sales lady who was helping me kept giving me pairs of glasses in the $350.00-600.00 range, which I felt was too aggressive. Finally, I firmly told her I wanted glasses in the $180.00 range to which she then left me alone. Unfortunately, it got worse. When my glasses arrived I was getting major headaches wearing them because my right eye prescription was way off. I called the store and the person who answered said to come in Sun because the optometrist was in and will recheck my eyes and that I didn't need an appointment. I arrived on Sunday, explained my situation again and was told to book an appointment to which I did because at this point I just wanted it to be done with. Will not be returning again!!! read more

I highly recommend Optical thirty 8 in Mississauga, will definitely go back. Awesome customer service by Ensy. She was super patient with me- she didn't make me feel awkward at all cos I felt awkward trying on those glasses (haven't had to wear one in over 20 yrs) so I was extremely self conscious- nothing seemed to look good. What I like most was her genuine attention and ability to work within my budget...she got me something i like (which is a miracle on its own). Words can't express what I have to say about this location...another time I went back to see Ensy but she was busy with another client...another specialist - Knuckles offered to help me right away and was just amazed again how quickly I got taken care of...can't say enough about this place...this is where I'm going to be getting my glasses as from now on. Optical Thirty 8 is one of the best of optometrists I have ever visited. I first called Optical Thirty 8 to find out some basic information. Sheena Cheng answered my call and provided me all the answers to the questions I had and even gave me extra information. I got so positive vibes from her that I decided to visit Optical Thirty 8 the same day in the evening to get a pair of prescription spectacles. When I went in, Sheena greeted and welcomed me. I was extremely happy with the customer service she provided. Also, opthalmologist Marc Wang was great at explaining things and provided excellent advice to me. I would recommend Optical Thirty 8 for great customer service, excellent quality service and super friendly and kind employees. I plan to buy another spare pair for me soon and glasses for 2 of my family members too. I would give a 5/5 to Optical Thirty 8. read more

This is the first time I've ever bought glasses and enjoyed the process. The service is as awesome as it gets, which plenty of practicality and no pushiness at all. They treat you with respect and patience, and crack little jokes here and there. It doesn't just stop there though - the glasses they (as in my Sales Associate whom I sadly forgot the name of) recommended me were all great, and I'm extremely picky! He ended up sitting me down and asking me to smile/put my hair up and that actually helped significantly. I ended up getting a pair of lovely Versace frames that were originally $300 but I ended up getting it for $230 with a groupon (so actually, $245) and it included the lenses. Overall I'm very pleasantly surprised with the service, array of products, and price. It is officially my go-to place. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but these guys recently blew me away with their customer care. You're greeted by friendly staff who treat you like VIP client about to make a major investment (though your just gonna get some new specs). There were plenty of staff on hand, and the man helping me (Alan) was great. The prescription I received wasn't great, and they had zero problem (actually they offered) to re-do my eye test, and re-do the prescription, for free!. One week later and I've got absolutely perfect glasses, they look great, and feel so natural I quite often forget I've got them on. The prices are quite reasonable as well, and I got an extra deal through Groupon (Optical Thirty 8 seems to have coupons there quite often). Great store - Way to go! read more

I recently picked out some frames from Optical Thirty 8. I have been wearing drugstore reading glasses, but now need progressives for intermediate and long distance as well. I had a difficult time choosing frames that suited my face and complexion. I also have a very restricted budget. Despite my decision paralysis, the staff was very kind and accommodating. Nick in particular was very knowledgeable. He was also very skilled in narrowing down my selection without putting any pressure on me. All his comments were in line with those of my sister-in-law, who is a design and fashion guru, and who was responding to pics and videos of the frames I was trying on. Just stopped in on a whim to get replacement nose pads for my glasses which were getting painful to wear. When I asked Dave what the charge would be he said no charge, even though I made it clear to him that I hadn't purchased the glasses there. I don't know what an Optometrist's time is worth, but 15 minutes later my glasses were fixed and again he insisted that there was no charge. This kind of service is a rarity in retail these days, and while I don't know what their prices are like for glasses, contacts and other services, the level of care they seem to be willing to give to their clients tells me that this is the place to go to get eyewear. I found Optical Thirty 8 online through positive reviews and decided to check it out. Turned out to be great customer service, vast selection of design and in-house made frames, and an easily accessible location!! I didn't have a particular frame or style in mind, and they worked with me to find the frame that was right for my head and fit. Very patient while I tried on 25-30 different type of frames. They also got my girlfriend and I a couple of glasses of cold water on the hot summer day. After the selection was made, they very friendly/efficiently processed through the paperwork. The service here is great! The staff is friendly, informed and always willing to go the extra mile. Sam helped me pick out great frames and was patient and honest throughout the process. Plus, the frames and contacts are very reasonably priced and a good variety. I've even brought in broken sunglasses that I didn't purchase there and they fixed them for me! Dr. Hughes is a great optometrist! He was very thorough in his exam and willing to explain every step of the way. Probably the best optometrist I've ever been to and the best experience I've had with a any kind of doctor in awhile! All in all, I can't recommend Optical Thirty 8 enough! read more

This store had a great selection (finally found attractive petite frames - yay Kate Spade!) and pricing, but the thing that sold me was the service! Dave is amazingly helpful, as is Mark. Everyone is so pleasant, and they even bring you a glass of water - a nice touch on a hot day! I had to change my prescription on a newly purchased pair of glasses (nothing to do with the glasses, just my eyes), and the service was amazing - no stress, and they really took their time to make sure that the new prescription worked, at no charge.
