Having had the full gauntlet of experiences at most of the local speed and indie VW/Audi shops in Phoenix over the last 20 years with more than a half a dozen different VAG platforms, I'm happy to say that Open Shop stands amongst the very best in the two most important components to any customer - 1) competency of technician/holistic knowledge of a car's systems and 2) communication and transparency. Had a fairly challenging fuel tank issue that Josh was able to diagnose and eventually repair at an overall cost that was about 1/3 less than what the dealer wanted. They resourcefully found a used tank at a great savings and so far the repair has held up. Had such a good experience that I will be taking the R back again to chase down a separate issue along with a DSG service despite the fact the shop is a 40 minute jaunt for me! read more

I took my car here to get fixed & left with more things broken in my car after I picked it up from this shop , we paid almost close to 1,400 to get a part fixed in my car I had to take it back within that week because my car felt like it didn't get fixed at all they also charged me for an alignment that never got done, The owners end up telling me the part they put in "failed " , then proceeded to tell me I needed another part fixed for $500 when I initially went to fix that problem they are now telling me about , I decided not to bring it back to get the other work done because my uncle was very upset that the part failed & there was no compensation at all or anything instead wanted more money to fix something I was aware of but that's the problem I went in for initially. Now my light in my car doesn't work & my passenger door can not open from the inside I think they couldn't figure out how to turn my light off bc you have to push it 4 times for it to turn off so they just unplugged my fuse, prior to me leaving my car there the second time all was working fine & my door was able to open I now have to find someone that can fix that problem and over look their work to see what they even did to my car . I did call and ask them what they did to my car to make my door and light not work and they told me to bring it back in , but why would you bring something in that keeps getting worst every time you bring it in . I convinced my uncle to go with this shop because I saw it was family owned and thought they wouldn't be money hungry but seems just as bad as the big corporations . My car isn't the newest but now it feels more broken as it was before , I'm left with none working lights , no access to my passenger door & a squealing noise every time I start my car that's so embarrassing. I'm not one to leave reviews but one of the reasons I chose this shop was because of the high reviews so I would like to leave one , the people were very nice and welcoming but not their work or maybe it's just my bad luck. read more
