They also helped my mom with her car repairs & oil changes. One time i was dropping my car off after work and after putting the keys in the drop box i was waiting outside in a dust storm and noticed it was about to rain while i waited for my ride and a mechanic was locking up but was nice enough to stay late so i could wait in the office for my ride. *CUSTOMER BEWARE* I brought my Mercedes in bc the air compression hose from the shock to my compressor broke. While I was checking in the owner of the shop was very friendly with me. Chopping it up, going over his race cars. After an hour or two I went back to see the status of my vehicle. The office lady let me know the solenoid in my shock broke and that I will need a new air shock. They quoted me almost $1,400. So I asked him long the job usually takes and she said 2 labor hours. Fortunately, she let it slip they purchase the refurbished parts from AutoHaus. I politely excused myself to think it over and searched the part through their provided. It was only ) $350 for a new shock. They tried to charge me over $1000 for labor to replace one shock. When I tried to ask what was wrong, they did not want to tell me until the mechanic came in and I just asked him. When I mentioned about buying the part myself and just paying for labor the mood switched drastically. The owner had a horrible attitude with me stating "if you buy your own parts we aren't working on your car". I had my 16 year old family friend with who is in school to be a diesel mechanic and the owner turned to him and said "you're a mechanic figure it out." So that's exactly what we did. We ordered a shock off Amazon for under $200 brand new and just installed it yesterday after only 2 hours of labor(including switching the brakes). HE TRIED TO CHARGE ME $1000 FOR 2 HOURS OF LABOR. You are better off working on your own car than ever bringing it to this SCAM ARTIST. He will pretend to be your best buddy so he can over sell you and over charge you without suspicion. He has fake and family accounts reviewing his shop to hide all the 1 star reviews. Oh he also tried to keep the rest of the hose I brought him to fix originally. -1/10 read more

Competent, honest, reliable and on time. Two out of four is what you get on the normal, three out of four is good. Herlehy's is all four...blessed. A long story short. Live in California, visiting family in Mesa. Stopped in Mesa to fill up and the Subaru won't except any gas. That was Sunday afternoon, start looking for a Subaru mechanic. Called Herlehy's Monday morning, they asked us to bring it down. When we were there we told them what we knew and they told us what it was...exactly. They got started and called us a few hours later with a price quote and a okay to proceed with no promise of finishing by the end of the day. A few hours later we received a call that they had finished and we could pick up the car. We went to settle our debt, which was more than fair. Herlehy's is a rare place. Straight shooters with a fair price. They won't give you the bullshit and blow smoke in your ass about being the cheapest but have a very fair price. They are also amazingly responsive and helpful. I do a lot of my own maintenance so when I got air in my abs system they quoted me 1/3 the price the dealers were trying to take from me. I've used Herlehy's a few times for oil changes on different vehicles, each time I set an appointment and they're always right on time. The mechanics work efficiently and inspect my vehicles as part of the service, but never try to "upsell" unnecessary repairs. The owner, John, is amazingly friendly and even gave me a tour of some of his project performance cars he works on in the back of the shop. HONEST! I took my girlfriend's 2007 Chevy Equinox to Just Brakes a weekend prior. No symptoms. Just wanted to check to see if the brakes were due to be replaced. They indicated new pads, rotors, and a master cylinder were needed for $1K. Pulled the car and took it to Herlehy's. John called to indicate the pads had 50% wear left. He advised as to a few cracks and double checked that there were no other symptoms but eventually advised things were fine. Pointed out an issue with a cracked front axle and gave a great quote. He indicated that the work didn't need to be completed today and to keep an eye on it. Please reward this business with your business. I know i will be getting the axle taken care of soon and I will be taking my Infinity to them in the future for all regular maintenance on my car. read more

Extremely happy with the service here. 75 Corvette wasn't running right. they told me to bring it in and called me that afternoon to see if I could stop by to talk about what needed to be done. I asked if it was that bad and was told "no, we just like to make sure our customers know what we see and what we need to do". Went back and was given an easy to understand explanation of what they thought could be wrong. I gave them the go ahead and was called a few hours later. fix was easier than they thought and they charged bare minimum to complete. car runs great! these people are honest and reliable. they are also a great group just to chat with about cars. Finding a new mechanic after moving is always a challenge. We were referred to Herlehy's and could not be happier. All of my work has been completed very quickly and they always communicate honestly about the problems and solutions. My most recent vehicle issue would require a part for the ABS that costs more than my vehicle is worth! John and Zach were quick to reassure me that I was in no increased danger if I never replaced the part (on the assumption I don't drive so I need panic stops every 10 minutes) and offered a piece of electrical tape to cover the warning light. Pretty funny right? When I picked up my keys, there was no charge for the diagnostic - and there was a piece of black tape on my key job, as promised. Funny and honest. She took it to a shop asking for quote on tires and any service work they thought the vehicle needed prior to the trip and was quoted an insane price and suspicious "needed" repairs. I can't say enough. MY ONLY REGRET IS I HAVE TO STOP AT FIVE STARS! John is very up front and HONEST and Zach is amazing. NO ONE could figure out what was wrong with my explorer but Zach never gave up and found the cause and fixed it. I've had a transmission put in there, rack and pinion replaced, new master brake cylinder put in, and new shocks and struts put on. Thank you so much guys! Update-- I took the black beast back to have it looked at because it gave me an error code message about the shifter solenoid so I called John and he said bring it in. Drew was able to determine it was a wiring issue (bad wire) and they also replaced the master cylinder for good measure. I called him on my way in and asked him "how much for fixing me up this time?" To which John actually surprised me and said "Nothing. It was all under warranty. I stand behind my work. I'm not worried about it". It works perfectly again. These guys are absolutely fantastic. I had a car that I was buying and I wanted a mechanic to look over it before I bought it. Herlehys was recommended to me by a friend. I took it there and they went over the car extensively for over 30 mins with me there and pointed out what needed to be done and what could wait etc. After they took it down off the rack I asked how much it would be and they said no charge. John is a consummate professional. in this day and age it is so hard to find a trusted mechanic. This man is honest and will tell you exactly what is wrong or what is right with your vehicle. I have always been amazed at his work and his low prices. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the dealership for warranty work and they are constantly trying to sell extra work to you that isn't covered. One time it was something that was going to be a necessary repair and the quote was over 500.00 dollars, I went to John and not only did he fix the problem immediately but the cost was under a 100.00! This place is amazing. I have going here for over 2 years, they do excellent work at a reasonable price and stand behind their work. Yesterday I had a flat tire, I called and got emergency roadside assistance, they ended up having to tow my vehicle into a repair shop near where I got the flat. When I got there they told me it would be 30 to 45 minutes before someone could look at it (because everyone was at lunch). After about 30 min. one of the employees came in looked at some paperwork and walked out. In about 5 min. he came back in, the woman that was working at the counter asked if he had looked at the flat, he took my information and told me it would be a while the battery was dead so they had to put it on the charger, and the tire person was still at lunch for another 10-20 min. I got a ride back to work, after about an hour they called said that I needed a new battery and it would be $375. I asked what the bill was for the tire- $25. Paid the $25 and drove it to Herlehy's. I received IMMEDIATE service on a moment's notice. John took the battery out and it was still under warranty. HE GOT THE NEW BATTERY AND INSTALLED FREE Saved me $350. THANK YOU read more

Absolutely stellar service. I have made these guys my "go to." I had a couple bad experiences elsewhere and put these guys to the challenge... HONEST! My Lord, I thought that was a thing of the past. My wife pulled in to Just Brakes and got the "we can't let you go, it's dangerous" garbage. I told her to leave immediately. I took it to Herlehy's and discovered that it was a worn pad and one caliper.. not the $2000 JB quoted. Next was $1300 estimate from the dealership... $85!!! I told them what the dealership was saying was wrong and he said "no, it's just this." $85!!! He's honest, less expensive per hour and very accommodating. Try them out. read more
