I can't believe this place is still in business. Not because the food is bad (They are hamburgers and cheeseburgers after all. Who's going to mess that up?) but because of the ridiculously stupid ordering system and the complete lack of virtually every aspect of decent restaurant management. You have to wait in a single-file line to order food and beverages. So imagine the lunch or dinner rush. Everyone visiting the restaurant must wait in a single file line to order. Ordering is done by one person and every order requires many questions to get right. Then pay while everyone is just standing there. Want a second beer? Enjoy standing in line for another 20 minutes. For a beer? Seriously? This is the equivalent to having one waiter at a restaurant that seats 100 people. Then enjoy sitting down at the nastiest sticky tables ever made because some genius thought they knew how to put poly on a table and save a couple bucks. Whoever did that didn't know diddly squat about finishing a dining table. The tables are sticky and disgusting. No amount of cleaning changes this. The only reason this incredibly poorly managed restaurant is still in business is because there are almost no other choices. I say vote with your pocketbook and avoid this restaurant that must be managed by someone with absolutely no clue about about the restaurant business. NO CLUE WHATSOEVER! My advice for these owners is eat at a different restaurant once and see how it's done. Seriously. It not that hard. read more

I would concur with what many other reviews have said about these hearty hamburgers and handcut fries. Everything was delicious and I would definitely recommend this place if your hankering for an actual well made burger. The fries were also a perfect compliment to the burger. Thankful that Yelp again lead me to a delicious restaurant I never would have found orherwise. If your traveling down I80 do yourself a favor and try Open Range. read more

Food was good, definitely an excellent burger. Nice place for a small town. But we thought $22 for one burger, one chicken sandwich, fries, and soda was on the high side, though. Restaurant ambiance was clean, but not anything special. All in all, we probably would have just as well grabbed a Mickey D's and kept rolling. read more

This is a pretty cool place for middle of nowhere Nebraska! I like the atmosphere (good for kids and there was a billiards type room off of the dining area) and their drinks are really inexpensive. The only downside to this place is that the young lady taking our order and delivering the food was pretty unpleasant and had an 'entitled teenager' type of attitude. I had the patti melt and it was ok. The onions weren't grilled properly since they were barely grilled at all and the sauce was really really rich to the point that I could only take a few bites of my sandwich. The hamburger itself was pretty tasty. The fries were incredible!!! I used my son's hamburger sauce which is basically mayo, ketchup, horseradish and something else that I cant remember-so basically fry sauce (if you know what fry sauce is, you're probably from Colorado or Utah:) and it was really good. My husband had their bleu cheese burger and it was pretty tasty, although far too much cheese was on it and I'm a huge fan of bleu cheese!He got the sweet potato fries and they tasted fine, I just wish they were cut thicker. The sauce that came with was a chipotle type sauce but I didn't care for it. Over all the prices were pretty good and the food was ok. I might give it another shot next time we drive to NE from Denver. read more

This place has great burgers and the best sweet potato fries around, especially with the special dipping sauce the have. It's the best. The problem is the acoustics. As the place fills up, it gets louder and louder, too the point where you can barely hear the people across the table from you. I recommend you go out to the beer garden if it is nice out, so you can enjoy your company as well as the food. read more

One of the places that is open later in Ogallala. Went here after 9pm on a Saturday and sat at the bar. I was greeted immediately. I liked how the server made a connection with me (taking about different places in New England because I'm from there and she had been there a few times). Traveling through on 80 and found this gem. They have a variety of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads. I had a delicious chicken sandwich with pepper jack, pico, and guacamole. The fries are obviously homemade from fresh potatoes. So good! It's really informal, just walk up to the counter to order, and they'll bring your food out to you. So happy we decided to give the Open Range Grill a try! A short drive from our hotel and we arrived at a spacious bar that was very welcoming. This bar and grill has a great little concept where you order at the bar and they call your name when your food is ready, so no waitress involved. The food arrived very quickly. Almost before we even sat down. It was delicious! I recommend the hot papas (a tater tot, cheese, and jalapeño combination). I had the Cobb salad. The chicken was delicious and the croutons out of this world. My husband had a burger and fries. We had recently eaten at a fancy brewery and this burger he said was one of the best he had ever eaten. They offer a wide range of beers, from craft beers to your every day domestic beers. There really isn't much else to see in Ogallala, however, I would stay here again just to go to this restaurant. read more

Amazing, And it was a flat top cooked burger. Fantastic. One of the reviewers pinned it stating "fresh veg on burger" because the tomatoes, pickles and even the lettuce was perfect thickness, freshness, and taste.
