    Original Runza Sandwich

I read that Nebraska was known for Runzas. So I decided to try one. I was the only on in the drive thru. The building looked run down and it didn't really look like it was open. The drive thru was definitely confusing. As for the runza itself, not the best meal one can ask for. It was salty, greasy and very bland. The closest thing I can describe this to is sliders from White Castle. I'm not sure what their hours are, but perhaps runzas taste better when the sun is down after a few beers.

Very good chain of restaurants here in the Midwest. An almost Midwestern cheestake with a thicker bun

How did I ever find this place? I pulled over in a parking lot to find a quick bite to eat. Little did I know I was right in a fast food parking lot and didn't know it. It's not a traditional service fast food restaurant. You order in the back of the lot and drive through the parking lot to a window where you pick up your food. I ordered the #1, a traditional Runza meal which included fresh fries and a lemonade. I didn't know what you expect and surprised at what the sandwhich was. A perfectly fresh 8 inch roll with ground hamburger, onions and cabbage. The meat was ground well. The onion and cabbage were almost like minced or cut in mini pieces and mixed into the hamburger. The sandwhich was warm and bread super soft. I really enjoyed the flavor but "shut the front door", the sodium had to be off the charts. It was fresh and quick. A little pricy seeing how the bread was not full of meat or veggies but it was fun fun place to visit. Thank you for your hard work!

World Famous Cheese Runza Sandwich Frings 10/10. Enjoyed it while watching the sunset

This drink machine belongs to the convenience store, not the Runza.

Runzas are a Nebraska favorite. Expect ground beef with onion in a thin layer of bread. They have decent burgers too. Save room for some of their creamy ice cream. Every Tuesday in January and February, the temperature at 6am is the price of a Runza. This location did an exceptional job making my BBQ Bacon Runza (an item on the "hidden" menu). I could see and taste the meat, onion, cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce. Most locations skimp (or skip) one or more of the ingredients. The register accepted my chip-and-pin credit card (unusual for a Runza). They're nestled in the back of what used to be a large convenience store, so the layout is weird. Note that you should use the fountain machine to the left of the counter, not the one you pass on the way to the counter!

Had we made a mistake in deciding to try Runza here at a gas station?? My friend and I are from out of town, and decided to give this Nebraskan fast food chain a try since it was off the 80 on our way to Omaha. We had heard so much about these sandwiches being amazing so it was easy to decide where we would stop by for our lunch break. ...Man, wish we had gone to McDonalds instead. If this is what Runza is like, we're really not fans. Our sandwiches were lukewarm and uninspiring. It felt like they had just slapped some random meats and sauces into a Costco bun that I could have gotten myself. Not to mention their sauces did not taste very good even when it smothered the meat. While it was a cheap meal, it ended up being a very bleh meal altogether. Save yourself the trouble of trying a Nebraskan chain and go elsewhere if you're in the area.

Driving back from checking on his parents and got hungry. Thought they didn't have a drive thru so we got gas but then noticed a drive thru menu by their tall store sign. So we decided to check it out. Drove up to the menu, and yay! Fish sandwich featured. Only took me three tries to find something I want to eat on the menu. Operator error. He got a Burger this time. Meals of course because French fries are life. Then we followed the faint lines towards the building. And there was a drive thru window - crazy. The server was nice and we got our meals to eat in the parking lot. Fish sandwich a little over fried so it was crunchier than I like and a little burnt taste. But it was a fish sandwich so amazing! His burger was tasty and we both felt better after our meals. Next time I'll be prepared with what I want to order.

Dried out, rock hard Cheese Runza Sandwich

I wish I could give this Runza location 0 stars. Each time I drive back to Nebraska from Colorado, I am eager to get Runza since we don't have any locations in Denver. Many times I have had issues at this particular location (cold cheese on Runza, being sold out of Runzas, etc.) but I keep giving them a chance because I figure, "it just happens". Well.. today was my last straw. My husband and I each ordered a Runza and they were rock hard, the meat was burnt, the cheese was cold and the cheese was on 1/4th of my Runza. The things hardly even resembled a typical Runza! This was extremely upsetting and I will avoid returning to this particular location. Oh, and they forgot my ranch. :)

Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Great food, always good when your fast food is actually good. Good stop on a road trip!
