My parents and I stopped in here after a long day of browsing at the gem show for a late lunch. I had never visited Opa's! before, but was in the mood for some Greek/Mediterranean goodness. I was also recently diagnosed with a soy allergy, and since my diagnosis is so new I keep forgetting to call ahead to ask about non-soy foods on menus. That being said, almost everything I asked about at Opas! had soy (they use soy oil and there are soy proteins in their gyro meat and soy sauce in their salad dressings, etc. BUT our server was SO PATIENT and kind to me, I kept changing my order and he kept coming back to tell me if there was soy in the items I was ordering... I felt very cared for by how he was not frustrated or impatient with me, but actually worked with me to get me a plate of DELICIOUS grilled chicken and vegetables with a nice salad on the side with olive oil/balsamic dressing. Fantastic! First off, their serving sizes are huge. I ordered the Classic Gyro with Fries, Gyro Fries with a side salad, and the large side of hummus. This was for two people for dinner. I've ordered takeout a few times.. the first two times were really good. I just got the chicken souvlaki plate and a few sides. This time it was really bad, basically inedible. The rice was super salty, the salad was questionable. It appeared wet. The tomato slices were an odd color so I tasted one and it had a tangy taste. I ordered hummus and it was soupy. My partner and I shared an order of calamari and an order of the low-carb lamb platter because we liked that it came with a variety of fresh veggies. The lamb was tender and flavorful and the calamari was crunchy and not chewy at all. Everything was affordable and they even brought us a complimentary plate of pita, hummus, and tzatziki sauce. We went here to get some good Greek food which I love. First off, we received a complimentary plate of cukes, tomatoes, pita, delicious yogurt dip and hummus. So very good! Then we ordered grilled octopus...it was good, but some of the bigger pieces were a bit chewy. I also got the avgolemono soup, and was disappointed. It was never thickened with the egg and lemon, so it was just chicken and rice soup. . I can make that at home! It it came with more pita! Hubby ordered the gyro pita. It was huge and the meat was delicious. Unlike any other gyro meat we have had. So good! I had the chicken souvlaki low carb plate. Also, very good, it came with a small side salad and some sautéed veggies. We did take a bunch of food home and would like to go back, but gotta ask about the soup first! First time here. I believe that they have only been open for a few months. This is the same as Opa's bets on Broadway. Great Greek food. So we were seated immediately and I had my doubts. The place was empty and it was 12:30 when we arrived. The menu is the same as the one on Broadway. We both ordered iced tea and the usual plate of hummus, pita bread and veggies was served. I ordered the gyro platter while my wife ordered Pastitiso and we ordered a sampling of lamb dolmas. I looked around and the place was filling up fast. The gyro platter was giant. A massive amount of gyro, large salad and rice. My wife's plate was the same, pastitiso, salad and rice. The dolmas were a but over cooked but very tasty. So, food is great, portion sizes are giant, service is great, and prices are reasonable for what you get. We now have two very good Greek restaurants in Tucson. Love the COVID precautions, only every other table is available and you are about 8-10 from anyone else. Give this one a try. You will be happy with it. And than you can wonder around 4th street. First of all, I love Greek food. It's been part of my diet for the last 35 years. I was how ever disappointed in the quality if food received, but not the quantity. They sure gave quite a bit for the value. I only wished it had been prepared better. The Gyro's meat looked like we were given the leftovers from the earlier cuts. I'm use to the longer meat slices that make it easier to eat on the pita bread. I know it's being picky, but it's not how it should be served. The Spanokopita had too much spinach and not enough field crust. This was a to-go order, but we will try this restaurant again since they have other items we would like to try. Showed up at 6pm after the 4th Ave Festival and we were surprised how empty the place was. Still, came with 2 young kids and they were able to give us an outside seat right away. Here is where it went off the rails. I think all the servers are young kids and they have no idea what they're doing. Asked for our order without giving menus first. Got the menu and ordered a Coke Zero and got a root beer. Fine, I like root beer too do not going to complain. Ordered a falafel hummus wrap with fries and got a hummus pita with salad. When the food came out I asked if they were still bringing the appetizer (flaming cheese). The kid went to check and said that the server forgot to order it and asked if we still wanted to order it. Told him no since our food was here now and the kids were getting grumpy. So, 3 out of 3 things ordered were already wrong. They did eventually fix the order and bring out the falafel wrap and it was good. We noticed that the kids working there didn't really know what they were doing. Different people kept coming out to take the order or bring the food and they were not really communicating well with each other (or the kitchen apparently). I got the gyro pita with the Greek fries and it was great! I absolutely love Greek food and seriously, this may be the best tzatziki sauce I've ever had. It's not as thick as normal tzatziki imo but the flavor of it is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I would've smothered everything with it if I had enough! Wish the Greek fries would've been topped with it as well. The fries were nice and crisp, but seriously suggest getting an extra side of tzatziki for them! Gyro was a solid 8/10. Lots of meat but would've liked some more feta (maybe even in place of some of the meat). Big portions which is appreciated always. read more

I don't write bad reviews but I went in for dinner with my boyfriend and this was hands down the worst Greek food I've ever had. The best thing there was the free appetizer but it was pretty basic stuff. The moussakas was absolutely awful couldn't eat more than two bites. The Saganaki was also awful, overly drowning in oil. Athens on 4th was amazing this place is just not it. Whatever you do if you go here do not get the Moussakas. Only writing this because I was actually appalled at how bad my dinner was read more

Went on a date today with my girlfriend and wow! The portions are huge!! I ordered off the dinner menu, got a gyro for $10 and couldn't finish it all. The service was the best part about this place! The guy was so attentive and came with refills the second I was done with my drink. He came over multiple times to ask if everything was alright, one when he dropped the bill off and again when he was boxing our food up. Only complaint was the Greek salad had little to no dressing.
