Had a wonderful meal and the service - yeah Kacey- was just right. I started with the hummus appetizer which was creamy and delicious served with soft, warm pita wedges. For my main course I had the lite gyro platter. Be warned light just means no potatoes or green beans, but the serving is extremely generous. I loved how it was served "deconstructed" meaning all of the things you normally have rolled into a gyro were on the platter for you to put together as you liked. It also had a very generous Greek salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Kacey was wonderful and friendly, providing a refill and checking in when needed, but also not hovering. Foood was fine but bad service. Took forever for a waiter to stop - finally had to shout out to one of the 2-3 passing ones. Once ordered, everything came too fast if possible - salads while still eating appetizer, diners while still eating salads, etc. Plates never cleared from table. Hopefully it was just a bad night service-wise. But again, the food was fine, with large portions - even really icy glasses for the Greek beer! read more

I can't even handle how much I love this place. I worked at a Greek restaurant for years and this place beats it hands down. The platters are giant and affordable, but that doesn't affect the quality in the slightest. The spanakopita is out of this world! You can definitely eat two meals out of one serving. The food was fabulous, excellent decor and atmosphere. The patio was a nice option as well. We went there after deciding not to wait at another popular restaurant and decided to give this new establishment a try. We were not disappointed. I had the pastitsio, my mom had the spanikopita, my dad had the braised lamb, and my sister had the keftethes made from chicken. We all took turns trying each others dishes and the one thing we all agreed on was that there wasn't a bad dish among them. We were lucky to show up when we did as they were beginning to fill up the tables. This seems like a great sign for the future success of a new regular option. read more

This is a nice little Greek restaurant, that just opened in Avon. I went there with my husband a few weeks ago. The decor is warm and inviting. The staff is smiling and friendly. The menu has so many choices that it is a bit overwhelming. I had a lamb dish and my husband had kebabs. Our waitress brought us a few wines to taste so that we could select the right one for our taste. The food was tasty and portions were big. The service slowed down as they became busier, so we had a hard time getting our check, but I chalked that up to new staff in a new restaurant. I expect they will be able to handle a rush better in the future. We will be back again. read more

The food is good, but seems overpriced for the quantity you receive. Our waitress was patient while explaining the different menu entrees to us, but one she brought our food, we never saw her again. My water glass was empty and I was so thirsty! I could see the waitresses chatting in the back but couldn't get anyone's attention. I doubt I will be back. read more

The food was awesome. The menu is extensive. Service was great. Restaurant is clean and well decorated. My only complaint is that the chicken gyro's are just grilled chicken. They were still very tasty. I dined with two friends and they were just as pleased. We will definitely be back. Heating issues mentioned in earlier reviews seem to have been addressed. read more

I visited Opa! twice the weekend of May 6, 2016. The first time was a lunch date with my husband. We visited around 2 PM, and there were 3 other tables occupied. We arrived and ordered an appetizer (trio spread), soup, and 2 dinners which included salad. It was our first visit to Opa! and we wanted to try a sampling of their food. All of the food was decent, but not spectacular. However, the pacing of the food was terrible. Within minutes, all of our food arrived at the same time... appetizer, soups, salad, and dinner. The waitress kept apologizing, but didn't do anything about it. By the time we got to our soup and dinners, they were cold and we just boxed everything up. Despite this experience, we decided to try again with our boys the next day for lunch. We arrived around 3. Our oldest was really excited to try a new restaurant. We arrived and was seated by the manager or the owner (he was wearing a blue shirt white the wait staff wore black). He seated us quickly, and we asked for a high chair for our son. He said that he would get one but never came back to the table! About 5 minutes later, my husband was still standing with our son and we asked a waitress for a seat. A few minutes later, she was back to give us a seat but again, never returned. We waited for over 20 minutes at our table, with our menus closed and piled in the corner, but a waitress never came by for our order. Finally, we just packed up slowly and left to eat at a neighboring dining establishment. My son was beyond disappointed since he had been looking forward to the experience. read more

A very friendly interior with the usual Greek music that sounds like someone is in pain. Very nice staff who look like they want to be there. The biggest and best gyros I have had in a long time. I came alone, since I am traveling, but this place is really good for large families or groups that don't mind sharing food. You could really try a lot of good food if you buy with the concept of family style eating. A great value for high quality food. I highly recommend. read more

We ordered an appetizer first. While we were enjoying it, we ordered a cup of soup to share (we wanted to try it - it was much better after we squeezed more lemon over it). The soup came before we were half way through our hummus. Our server requested (several times) our dinner order. I ordered the dolmades and husband ordered leg of lamb. We specifically asked the server "tell the kitchen NOT to rush our dinners." The salads arrived before we finished our appetizer and soup, and our dinners arrived before we were close to finishing our salads. Reminiscent of our first visit here. Both of our meals were overcooked as well, with the grape leaves fallIng apart and with no flavor, and the lamb cooked to at least medium well. We did eat our meals as served. A table near ours was served in the same fashion, and also expressed their dissatisfaction to the same server. The portions were large, and the sides and pita plentiful. While the kitchen is partly to blame for this, we expect the servers to know how the kitchen operates and to adjust the timing of turning in orders accordingly. The bottom line is this - order each course separately and wait until you have finished it before ordering the next. If we had wanted fast food, we would have gone to a fast food restaurant! read more

Horrible service and food came out frozen...not cold...FROZEN...the middle of my dish had ice in it...there had already been mistakes made with our appetizer getting to our table late and you would figure that would have given them adequate time to cook the food. My friend got the wrong meal and by the time he actually got to eat we just wanted to leave. We had observed a manager going to other tables to check on other diners but never came to ours. We even watched as he gave away free dinners to a table that had ordered and the kitchen had run out of their item. We were not there looking for any hand-outs and we really didn't complain. We paid for all of our food including my frozen meal that I did not eat. I never even got a refill on my soda during the whole experience. We usually give places a second chance and sometimes a third but...not this time. What we did do however, was tell everyone about our experience and suggest they try a more friendly Greek restaurant not far from OPA...or should I say OOOPS! AHHH! I will never go back here again. read more

Went there for dinner last night. The atmosphere as always was fun, and the wait staff is efficient and personable. I ordered the Greek combo, and my wife ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken. This was our fourth or fifth visit. The food this time was so-so at best. There was a lot of it on the combo platter. The dolmades were ice cold; I have never had them served cold before, and it wasn't very pleasant. The gyros meat was pretty good. The pasta/cheese/beef thing (I can't remember what it's called) was very rich. The green beans were excellent. This is the only Greek restaurant I have ever visited that serves a hunk of potato with almost every entree. If it's a concession to Hoosier culinary sensibilities, I for one could do without it. I left it on the plate. My wife's Greek salad was so wet it could have been a chilled soup. There was what appeared to be a whole bell pepper included. Very little feta, and overall rather disappointing. The gelato my wife had was, in her words, "heavenly". I ordered baklava to go, and when I opened it found it soggy and falling apart. read more
