Oomomo has finally arrived in Toronto. It's been a long wait for a store that finally sells Daiso products (100 yen store in Japan). This is a very big dollar store where most items are $2 unless listed otherwise. They also carry a variety of products that are made in Japan which is a bonus! One thing I don't quite recommend is their snacks. I found it more expensive and actually most supermarkets carry those snacks for cheaper prices. As this store is so big, we spent a good 1-1.5 hours here. So you may want to plan your time accordingly. This is probably one of the better dollar stores there are in Toronto. I recommend giving this place a try for your one stop personal, houseware, stationary and craft store for cheaper end prices. read more

I was so excited when I heard this store was opening in North York.  I waited a few weeks to go in because I heard it was really busy and it still was when I went!  I spent at least an hour just browsing all the fun things they had in the store and loaded up my basket with way more than I should've because I just liked all the little unique things.  I especially liked their section for baking accessories and stationery. Although there are lots of things you can just get at the dollar store, the things here are just cuter, in my opinion.  The store was clean and bright with lots of selection, and the prices are cheap. It's fun just to go in and browse! read more

Rip off! I was excited to see the unique-flavoured Kit-Kat chocolate bars, such as strawberry and green tea. I bought a small package of them for $10 at Oomomo. Then we walked across the parking lot to an Asian grocery store called C&C Supermarket, and found the exact same thing for $4.99. Truthfully, the grocery store was more interesting. They even had cucumber-flavoured Lays potato chips. Of course, Oomomo has stated no 'exchanges or refunds' on their receipts. Oomomo? More like, 'oh, no-no!" read more

Pro: Clean and bright store. Lots of household items and miscellaneous stuff. Very cute. Reasonable prices. Con: be wary of when your items are being rung up. Item with a $2 sticker was manually override by the cashier for $3. When she was questioned why she wrote it up she said the price is actually $3 but the system did not update it yet. I'm sorry but nope. You have to honour the price advertised. I've been to other stores that have done this. The cashier said that it's voluntary and they don't have to honour it. Explain to her so many times but didn't offer to do anything. She just stood there like an idiot! Bad business practice here! read more

Too many things made in China. Quality is a little better than regular dollar store. The shoe bags and laundry garment bags are my favorite items. read more

One of my favorite places to shop! The snacks and stationery sections are huge, and I ended up getting so much since we don't really have this stuff back home. It gets pretty crowded so I suggest coming late at night or early in the AM. read more

Worst shopping experience!!! Remember that all stuff you buy won't be refund even if you just pay for it one second ago and even if it's their fault! We got an item without any price tag which we thought should be $2 as their statement. The cashier showed me every thing that is not $2 but that item. And it's turned out to be much more expensive than $2!! But according to their "POLICY"-- everything is final sale!!! Can't be refunded!!! I think it's a ridiculous policy and really disappointed! read more

I was really excited to come here, but my experience was average at best. It was spacious, but there wasn't much to purchase, and the prices weren't that great. Probably won't come by again as it was not worth the trek. read more

This isn't quite a dollar store. Some of it is $4+. There are definitely dollar deals though, just not as many as I'd hoped. They have a large variety of home goods all across the charts, including some compressed hot towels that look like mints, as well as the cutest collection of book ends I've seen in Toronto. Some of the Japanese snacks are quite a bit more than at C&C across the street. I'll be back someday, but most likely just for their stationery section. read more

I was here on a Saturday afternoon and the store was packed, the line to the cashier was snaking around the store. I was quite disappointed because I didn't see many daiso products.. You can get most of the stuff they sell here at ichiban living in pmall (maybe it's the same owner?), and you don't have to wait 20 minutes in line to pay. read more

This is kind of a cool place, if you are looking for cheaper, and novelty items. However, be warned that the prices are quite high for food items. You can virtually walk across the street to the supermarket, and pay much less for the exact same items. Service was friendly, and there are a few neat things to look at. Definitely not worth a second visit though read more

Finally a proper Japanese dollar store! I went on the 2nd day and was very impressed! It's huge and spacious, the store is bright and clean and they actually have tons of products from Japan! (A mix of daiso and seria) I bought a ton of items and will def be back for more. Highly recommend the craft section! Lots of great gift wrap ideas and cute sticky notes, etc. The staff was also very friendly, I love it! read more

Love this place. It makes me feel like I'm in Japan again! You can find a wide variety of things, like kitchen goods, stationary, Japanese snacks and beauty products. Prices are decent, I easily spent over $30 on a bunch of items. I would definitely return again. read more

I was seeing so much hype online about this new dollar store, I had to go check it out - and it was very busy, with a huge long line at cash. But I didn't wind up buying anything. The Japanese dollar store isn't so very different from the Canadian dollar store :) Oomomo had a couple of things that are maybe super popular in Japan - lots of false eyelashes, origami paper in the craft section, vacuum storage bags since maybe space is at more of a premium over there? They also had a couple of cute cat patterns on bags, as well as some pretty dishware - but the ceramic dishwear wasn't that cheap. I'd totally shop here on a regular basis if it were my neighborhood store, and the line to check out wasn't as long as it was today. But I don't see myself making a special trip to visit here again, now that I've seen what it's like. read more

This is a dollar store on steroids. Great selection everyday products and snacks at great prices. I bought a pair of massage in soles for $3.50 and they are amazing. The staff here are very helpful and the long lines move very quickly. You could easily spend an hour or two here just browsing. Don't be fooled by the name. Yes there are a lot of Asian specialty products here like foods, but the store is stocked with hundreds of useful every day items at excellent prices. read more

A great place to shop for unique designed kitchen wares. They also have a well stocked japanese candies/treats! Almost anything you want for your home you could find here. I know where I'm buying my next sets of plates for my own spot! read more

I visited several days ago since I heard it opened not long ago! I am so glad a store like Oomomo finally exists in Toronto - gives it more of a variety aside from Dollar Tree or Dollarama! The store practically sells everything from bowls, cups to stationery items - most of them cost only $2.00 each! I would definitely come back in the near future. read more

They carry the usual products from Daiso plus a few from Seria. Anyone missing these haunts from Japan won't be disappointed. The store is new and beautifully kept. read more

Although the store looks like it has a ton of stuff, once you start shopping, you realize it is lacking a lot of things you can find at a Miniso. Although it touts itself as being a carrier of Daiso products, I found the selection quite lacklustre. The snack section is also very disappointing as most of the snacks there can be found at T&T and other Chinese/Asian supermarkets. Most items also do not have price tags on them, so it gets slightly awkward when you get up to the register and the cashier has to ask you if the price is okay with you once they scan it in. And they only do this for certain items, not all. We walked out with a tiny bag of chips that costed $5 that we wouldn't have bought if we knew the price tag. They didn't bother to ask us if we were okay with the price of the bag of chips, but did ask us for another item that was scanned. Good to visit once only. read more

Went 3 days after its grand opening, they do have a vast variety of products yet I didn't find much that were really useful to me. A lot of things are not in the $2-$3 range. I was looking at a very small plastic garbage bin and it's priced at $12. I feel that I can easily find a equivalent from Ikea for much better quality. The snacks are pretty pricey too. They have the Chinese version of choco gummies which is only half the size of the original Japanese one but selling at $3.50. I'm sure if you're familiar with the candy, you can find the original version, which taste so much better, for only $3.99 on sale from any local Chinese supermarkets. It's fun and nice to browse around in here but I don't fancy for what they sell here. read more

I visit there whenever I can get a chance, there are so much variety of things , I am impressed And I love the greetings that the staff says , they are very helpful. I always buy so much things there so reasonable. Daiso products are selling at oomomo. It's great and North York store is so convenient read more

Omg, I live this place soooooo much. They have so many different kinds of japanese stationary. If u come here, u know what I'm talking about. Just come here read more

This store is out of our way but it was worth the effort. I went specifically to pick up some of the fake plastic Jadeite kitchenware, but they had almost nothing left. Lots of cool stuff, some of it took me a bit to figure out what it actually was but when I did, I figured I needed it, its that kind of store. Many, many storage containers, bags, baskets, stationary/school supplies, craft supplies, its a fun place where you can spend half an hour seeing a bunch of stuff you don't find elsewhere. Looking forward to their second GTA location opening in Markham in the spring (which is supposed to be double the size of this store). read more

Here's how this shop makes profit!! They have signs everywhere saying that all items are 2 dollars unless otherwise specified. We found one interesting item. We picked one up and saw no price tag on it, so we just assumed that this was 2 dollars also. My friend took one and I took 2 of them, thinking this is such a great deal. But guess what, it's actually $22 each. The cashier who helped my friend to check out warned her about every non-2-dollar items except for this most expensive one. After they charged us, we found the price was way higher. AND RIDICULOUSLY, all their items are final sale and cannot be refunded!!!! We then explained to the manager, saying that one of the item was missing a price tag, which led us to believe it's a 2-dollar item. The manager was obviously annoyed by us, insisting that there's nothing she can do for us. She even tried to imply that we ripped off the price tag of one of the items just so that we could got a refund!! We were beyond pissed at that moment. My friend and I came all the way from another country and oomomo was one of our stops for this short trip. However, we could not be more disappointed at the store. read more
