I went here on a whim on a Sunday night (March 1) and found it surprisingly sparse and without sprawling lineups for the first time in years. I guess I benefited from "Corona Effect 1" which was the brief period of people avoiding crowded places before "Corona Effect 2" HoardFest kicked in. This was once my go-to Walmart, but I hadn't actually made a purchase here in 6 years (since the last time they went 24hrs during the Xmas season) because of obscene lineups & waiting times. I expected to just look around for whats on sale,then buy it at another location as usual. Turned out there was hardly anyone here so I bought Valvoline MaxLife engine oil for my Mom's car on sale for $19 / 5L and some washer fluid. That was a happy surprise. This location was reorganized and cleaned up about a year ago without the major renovation upheaval experienced in locations at Richmond Hill or Agincourt Mall. There are definite benefits more tidy, well lit displays and more walkable aisles while all sections remain in familiar locations. The trade off is you're less likely to score those occasional "finds" from rummaging through a mess to unearth a long discontinued item with an absurd markdown. This was probably a lucky one-off, I'm not a big Walmart fan anyway but when I do use it I will probably keep preferring the Richmond Hill & Woodbridge locations, but it was a cool experience anyway read more

I've visited quite a few Walmart's over the past couple weeks looking for a certain shirt. While most of them have been abysmal, I was struck by the clothing department at this location..in a good way! The section was HUGE, well-lit, and organized in a way that I've never experienced before at a Walmart. I saw clothing styles that I've never seen, and to be honest, it was a pleasure to shop there. I haven't tried their other departments since this was a focused shopping trip, but I was super impressed given the underwhelming, crappy options that I'd been looking at from other locations. read more

I shop here periodically. I find that depending on what you are looking for, you can really make out ok here. They have a great selection of pet food and supplies, so manage to get what I need in food, treats etc here. Their pharmacy often has great sales on vitamins and supplements (more the mainstream type), but you can't beat their prices! Grocery wise -- their deli counter is pretty good and they do have a pretty reasonable international food selection. It's a good size grocery store so you can get most things you need here. As for the other areas, I do find it hit and miss but have to say that I do find I make a monthly visit for the things I do like to get here. It's close to a variety of other stores like Winners, Reitmans, Marks WW, Homesense, etc. So convenient if you are popping around. Huge parking lot which fills up quickly. I have to write this review to defend my neighborhood Walmart. The type of people that go to Walmart are busy moms who can't go to more than one place to do their shopping because of their restless kids, multitaskers who prefer to shop at a super store for one stop shopping and budget savvy people who know that Walmart will have the lowest price on almost anything guaranteed (they have a price matching policy LINK http://www.walmart.ca/en/help/products/pricing). Now understand that one of the places where they cut costs so that they can pass on the savings to you is cutting down the number of store employees hence the source of many of the complaints (messy store, long lines, lack of staff to ask for assistance). So now to make your shopping more enjoyable I would suggest to go when it opens during the week. Once you become a regular customer you'll figure out other good times to go OR you may decide not to take advantage of their rock bottom prices and one stop shopping, that is your prerogative (cue Bobby Brown music) P.S. They have a decent garden centre. I love it when they forget to water some of their plants to the point that the plants droop. The employees put them on clearance then water them. If you are an experienced gardener, you'll know which plants will survive the drought. I've gotten many plants at clearance prices that have come back from the brink of death and thrived in my home. read more

This Walmart is literally like stepping into a post apocalyptic scene from a movie. There is literally crap everywhere. From the grocery aisles to the toy section, the place looks like it was raided by an army of scavengers post zombie outbreak. I rarely find what I'm looking for when I go here, but I always walk away buying more than I need. A carton of Pockey and a new back massager? Sure why not. You can't argue with Walmarts prices. Some of the best in Canada. So good infact that they drove Zellers and Target out of Canada in less than 5 years! Service you ask? No service doesn't exist here folks. Employees hide in the aisles or in the back stock room and if you do manage to talk to one, they know nothing about the products or store. Or even who they are for that matter. "Who am I?" I'm dropping an extra star instead of a 1 though. Why you ask? Well I bring my four legged friend inside without any issues. Every time I come to this location, I notice that its pretty understaffed. I can almost never find someone to help me, and there are very few cashiers open, even on weekdays. I've noticed that their inventory stock might be a little lower than other locations nearby, because I hardly ever find everything I'm looking for in one shopping trip. I tend to visit here once every few months because it's nearby my work on the way home, but it's definitely not my first choice location. read more

This is another huge Walmart Supercentre in Scarborough occupying a single floor employing lots of part and full-time people. You can find almost anything you're looking for at Walmart. Every department you can think of and more including services and a McDonald's. Today's visit was to pick up a quick item. The parking lot is a zoo so keep your eyes open lest you run over a pedestrian or vide versa. Checkout lines are usually long and there's a wait...ir use the self-checkout option. Prepare to pay $0.05 for every shopping bag you ask for. read more

Honestly, I'm disappointed but not very surprised. I've been coming to this Walmart for a while. Today I realized that I no longer want to even bother going there, this location is terrible. I've had multiple pick-ups lately that would show unavailable items. I wasn't convinced so I would go into the store myself...and there was tons of stock!!!! Lately since the virus, the pick-up is more of a sit in your car for an hour...unbelievable. Today I had a pick up between 1-2pm. I was waiting for about 15 minutes until I called in. They said they still had customers waiting since 12pm, what!? They told me to come back around 5-6pm...this was probably worse! I come with my 2 young children (5 & 2 years old) and no one was answering the phone. There was at least 10 people ahead of me waiting at the pick up door. What a nightmare. Why can't this store ever have enough staff working in the pick up location!? read more

Its 10 pm on a friday night. I need to pick up two small items and get out of here, but both express lines are nuts! Can I write a review on my phone before I get to the cashier? I decide to jump into a shorter regular line, but evryones buying enough stuff to stock a small town. Surprisingly the line is moving. I once stood here for 20 minutes. This place is a freaking zoo. I waited 59 minutes to reach to the customer service on March 18 2022 from 8 pm - 9:30 pm . When I asked the Manager wearing a special clothing covering on his head, he did not want to place at least 2 customer service representatives that time. It was clear that the store Manager intention created difficulties to customers so that they could not return the stuffs. please remove such management team members immediately. read more

This Walmart is probably one of the busiest and continually understaffed ones that I have come across. Never enough cashiers opened and usually if anything that I want that is on sale...well I won't find it here. We went to Walmart to get new shoes for a 5 year old. The store was busy but that's not unusual. Could not find any shoes and the shelves were a mess. Got some meat and popcorn then headed to the cash. We saw these huge lines and didn't quite understand what was going on. No one that worked there was anywhere to be seen. It looks like most of the cash were closed and they were using only the self serve checkout. There were about 30 people ahead of us. No announcements or guidance at all. It's the longest I have ever waited to checkout. Worst ever. read more

I admit it, I like Walmart. The sole reason - prices. Are they a big bad company - perhaps, but like most people, I am not financially able to shop for all my supplies at indep stores. Would that be my preference? Absolutely! But, until I marry into royalty and become wealthy, Walmart will have to do! Now, after laying a bit of ethical groundwork - the question becomes, is a Walmart the same anywhere? This is where the perhaps unethical company is smart - they have various sizes, stock and flare (yes, I used the word flare in a Walmart review) for different locations. The City of Toronto is very limited when it comes to Walmart. This location is the closest to my home and is the closest Toronto location that is similar to stately suburban Walmarts. What I like about this Walmart is the location, ample parking and fairly good variety. What I don't like is that it is a Russian Roulette gamble on when you go to the store if it is going to be insanely busy or completely asinine chaos. You can navigate the store quite efficiently and humanly, but when it comes to the check out, blimey, it is horrendous. I have spent more time in line, then I did selecting my purchases. My tips for this location - go early am, know what you are buying (don't browse), if you are looking for deals be sure to check out their flyer. Major deals tend to be at the end of each aisle. DO NOT go after work. You will be tired and hungry and want to maim one of your fellow shoppers. Good luck fellow deal finders. If you really want to experience Walmart variety, cleanliness and civility, go to the suburbs (east, not west or north). read more

I come to this Walmart on rare occasions, and only when I absolutely HAVE to. This place is a nightmare full of shoppers and endless isles of stuff, and more stuff. I feel as if I need a navigation system just to find what I want in this gigantic hell hole. I do have to admit that Walmart has some good deals on things such as toilet paper and cleaning products, but most of the time I prefer walking to the Shoppers Drugmart up the street from my house than venturing to this massive superstore. The shoppers here can be pushy, the place is messy and has merchandise strewn everywhere, and the lines are ussually endlessly long. I came here yesterday for chocolate to put in my family's Christmas stockings and had to line up for 40 minutes for the few items I was paying for. I almost gave up. All in all, this place is decent for buying essentials at good prices, but the fact that it is soooo enormously huge and constantly packed with shoppers makes me really dislike it. This Wal-Mart has everything you need. So expect the line-ups to be long. They have a bakery section, a deli counter, and most items you'd find at a groceries store. Meat, produce, dairy etcetera. They have rows after rows of cashiers, though I prefer to use the Express Checkout. Don't be intimidated by the long line-up, it does move pretty fast. Parking is plentiful, although sometimes I think its not plentiful enough. There is also a McDonald's inside in case the kids get impatient of waiting for you to stock pile for the Apocalypse. read more

The store itself is ok. It's a Wal-Mart, nothing special compared to any other Wal-Mart. My main complaint is the automotive centre. We got our oil change done there and ever since have had loud noises coming from the engine. They deny they have anything to do with it and after getting our car checked out a few times since, everyone seems to say there's nothing wrong with the car. So we just need to live with the noise sometimes. No big deal, but I just didn't like the way it was handled. read more

I can't believe I am writing a review for Walmart of all places, but hey at least I am not writing a review for the McDonalds inside it. Yes, this place is huge. Yes, there are parents constantly yelling at their children, but without this it just wouldn't be WalMart now would it? I am reviewing this place because I came here as a last attempt to find some makeup and hair products that are widely available in the US but of course, impossible to find here. I found my goodies right away and then wandered around the store. I was surprised at how many items they carry that I didn't think were available in Canada yet! When I checked out, I went to the express lane (there are 8 express check-outs!) and got out of there very quickly, on a Sunday no less, so I can't complain. Another good thing is this walmart actually has sufficient aisle room so you can get through with your carts/strollers/herd of children. read more

I am in this Walmart about 2-3 times a week. This location is clean ,well organized and I usually don't have to wait too long to cash out. The only bad thing about this location is the Pharmacy. I went there to drop off prescriptions and at the drop off counter I stood there and made eye contact with the pharmacist. Even after we made eye contact she went back to looking at her computer screen. So after a few minute of just standing there I asked if she was going to help and then she said "in a moment". She finally comes to help me and she tells me it will be ready in half an hour. I come back 45 minutes later and when I go to the pick up counter there is a guy in front of me standing there. We are standing there for 5 minutes in clear view and no one says anything to either of us or even acknowledges us. There are three people behind the counter. I ask the man in front of me if he has been helped yet he says that he hasn't!! So I ask the people behind the counter if we can get some help. The pharmacist associate then comes over and says "yes?" to the guy in front of me. She helps him and then she helped me after that. The customer service in that part of the store is really lacking and they are very unprofessional. I understand places get busy but atleast acknowledge the customers and say something like "I will be with you in a minute" at the very least. Don't just flat out ignore the customers. read more

Went knife shopping last weekend, and as usual, nobody in the Sporting Goods department. I couldn't get the knife I wanted because the knives are locked up in a case, and only a few specific employees have the keys to that case. Over the next 40 minutes, they tried paging a Sporting Goods representative 5 or 6 times, but nobody came. I just took my business to the Canadian Tire across the street. Waiting 40 minutes for them to grab a knife for me is ridiculous, I have way too many things to do on Saturday. read more

I've been to this store twice in the past week and would be quite alright with never going there again. They have way too few cash registers open for such a busy time of year, and the "back to school" section looks post-apocalyptic. I get that it's a heavily shopped section but they could still make an effort to tidy it up and re-stock once in a while. This place is great for your shopping needs when you want to save a few bucks or cents, which ever! Any where form cereal bars to mouthwash to butt wipe you're guaranteed to keep your wallet a little heavier than normal as opposed to a normal grocery store. You either like this place or not as stated in another thread earlier this fall, I love this store and the bottom line should be saving yourself money whether it's a home grown store or not. I find Walmart to be one of the more affordable places to do most of your shopping needs. I highly recommend it for purchasing most of your pharmaceudicals, as Shoppers Drug Mart is way too over priced. Shoes and clothing are also quite affordable here and with the rising cost of everything these days, the more affordable the item, the better. read more

I purchased Just Cause 3 yesterday as a two year anniversary gift for my boyfriend quitting smoking. He could not get the game to load so I tried to return it today. The staff said the only thing I could do was return it for the same game. Amazon would not have done this and it is cheaper. And so is Best Buy. But I chose to shop local and buy from Walmart. Shame on me. I will never buy from them again if I can help it. There are reviews all over the internet about the bugs this game has. I mentioned that to the staff and they said they could not refund my money due to federal copyright laws. Here are some of the reviews: Aweful game with limitless bugs! This game dosent even read This great series has been ruined by the untested crap the Square Enix has put out. This game is so buggy its almost unplayable. Doing challenges it doesn't register when you win and unlock equipment. Randomly destruction is not registered and you cant complete a town or military base. Try calling one of their departments on the phone. Every store in Scarborough did not answer in the Garden Center departments at all.

This Walmart is a scary place- it is ALWAYS busy, the lines are insane, the staff are angry, never enough ppl working. My husband and I always have to deeply breathe before coming here. That being said, it's huge and has everything you need- groceries, house stuff, pharmacy- good prices, standard Walmart. Only go if there isn't another one closer. read more

However politically incorrect I have to say I like Walmart. And I am glad that the rest of snooty liberal Toronto doesn't want to shop here because then it would be truly too busy. The staff also look like they are happy with their jobs so what exactly is the problem?? Yes, it's often crowded and long line-ups for checkout, but the prices are just too persuasive. Milk bags are just marginally higher than Costco so the savings for a family over a year are huge. They also have great selection and fabulous specials, even on higher ticket and quality foods like Prime Chicken.
