It's Costco - you honestly know what you're getting into here. Parking can be a total nightmare, but compared to a few other locations, atleast I know I won't get freaking grid locked trying to pick up my 48 pack of eggs. This location is alright. Very well staffed to constantly re-organize/ clean up from the mass of shoppers. It's so crazy busy after work and on the weekends, as expected at most Costcos. If you can go during the weekday, do it. It's worth the slight bit more of peace. Oddly enough, their pharmacy is always slow. It's just so busy, but given it's an affordable option for many people without health benefits, it makes sense. Staff are great here, and everything is easy to find - exactly where expected. If the weather isn't so bad, just park a bit further out. And for the love of all things costco, please be a good human being and put your cart away! read more

This is my go-to Costco location. They always open slightly early and are very tidy even right at opening time. While their selection is not as good as that of some of the bigger locations (for example, this place got rid of its book section), they do carry a lot of Asian packaged and frozen products. Hotpot meat and LA ribs are not the best value, but sometimes the meat and seafood deals they have are pretty good, like when Argentinian shrimp is $10 off per package! read more

Busy busy busy! They moved the mobile shop to the front now to make room for the alcohol. So glad to see Costco now offering beers and wine.. Hope we get to see more variety like they have in the US, Quebec or Alberta. Part of the tortillas and bread section were moved over to the bakery now. Wish they can expand the location as this Costco is one of the smaller Costco in Canada. Due to lack of space, inventory sell out fast! Got to buy them at the beginning of the week when there is a sale! The pharmacy line-up can be long when extremely busy. I had to wait up to 30 minutes+ in line to get my meds. read more

This Costco has a tire center and cafeteria but no gas station. It's a pretty standard Costco but it gets extremely busy on the weekend. I'd recommend to avoid on weekends. The food court has self service ordering. read more

It's as busy as a a Costco Warehouse can get! And it's well-maintained and clean. It also has a good variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, cheese, meat and frozen ones. But, I couldn't find many of the items I usually buy from other warehouses. read more

Been going to this location every other week to stock up during the pandemic and just wanted to provide an update. I do feel like the more I go to this location, the more I like it... Or could just be that I'm accustomed to it now. However, still doesn't beat the Richmond Hill location in my opinion. For one, it still has the problem of not carrying all items! On my last trip, I wasn't able to find the green bin bags and/or ice melters as they don't seem to have them, so I had to make an extra trip to the Richmond Hill location as I know they do have it there. Same goes for the freezer section which is a lot smaller, only one aisle along the backside with the milks and toilet paper. In terms of cleanliness, I don't really see a lot of staff physically cleaning but they do provide Lysol wipes near the raw fish and meats section, as well as hand sanitizers spread out through the place. Remember to sanitize as you pass by! Been really appreciating that it hasn't been overly busy each time I come, which is a huge thing for me during this pandemic as the last thing I want is a crowd. read more

I would like to share my experience this morning, Monday July 15, about this Costco location. I usually come to shop in the morning, before it gets busy later on the day. Everything went ok, until I went to the Cash Register. When I got to the Cash Register; I saw three female Costco employees; Lady one was standing at the Cash Register, Lady two was helping the customer loading the grocery items, and Lady three was just standing chatting with the Lady one and the customer. When it was my turn to load the grocery items, Lady two who was helping other customers loading the grocery looked at me and said: "excuse me, can you help to load the grocery?" Without thinking much; I was loading the grocery on the counter. I bought some celery and spinach. Lady two put the celery on top of the spinach. I said to Lady two: "could you please do not put celery on top of my vegetable?" She said: "it is not vegetable, it is spinach." She was really showing me her unprofessional side, as if she is my boss. When I went through the cash register; Lady one and Lady three were non-stop talking and talking. (Lady one's name is Vida) I felt so annoyed for this rude behaviour. So I waited and waited until they "finished" talking. Then I paid for my groceries. I think Lady one (Vida) saw my disappointing facial expression; she immediately stopped talking and focused on me. I have to say; I have never experienced such a terrible customer service before. It happened at 9:21AM, on a Monday morning. But the sad part is that nobody came to correct these three ladies' inappropriate behaviour; no manager or supervisor came and said anything to stop these three ladies. This costco has a good selection of items for relatively good prices. Employees are knowledgable and Courteous. They occasionally have good sales but not that many samples to try. As always the hot dogs are amazing and for an incredibly cheap price that comes with a drink too. Worth it! read more

This Costco is in a convenient location, close to the highway, close to the grocery stores, and close to all the Asian restaurants. Shelves are always fully stocked and I never run into an issue where an aisle is blocked because staff are busy restocking. Unfortunately I'm giving it a four star rating because of how busy it can get. The parking lot is so crowded, and hey, not the best drivers around here lol. Markham is blessed to have two Costco stores. This location is the first one that opened in the then town of Markham. I still pause at the idea that the town has grown so much that it is now a city! I live equidistant from both Costco stores. However, when I am driving home from work, this store is on my way home. As crazy as my next statement sounds, I have visited Costco three times this week. It is perhaps a record for me. I first visited on Tuesday. I needed visa photos for an upcoming trip to China. I always get my passport photos at Costco. You get two high-quality colour photos for $6.99 as a member. I didn't know whether it does visa photos 33 mm x 48 mm. I went to my knowledgeable source, the boyfriend. He got his visa photos for India from Costco. So, I took the plunge. Sure enough, the store does that photo size. I paid and then sat on the red, comfy stool, and got my mugshot taken. If I wanted to shop and come back, the photos would be ready in an hour. I then drove to my manicure appointment, had lunch, and returned to Costco to pick my photos up. As always, they look great. I thank the staff for being so helpful and friendly. It was a zoo that day in the store! Last night, after work, I felt like a hot dog and visited Costco. It's not all that busy at 7 pm, except for the food court area. You can't beat a tasty hot dog with a drink for $1.58. I thought that I wouldn't land a free table, but I did. By the time I was done, it was 8 pm. I love Costco. I tend to come her for my regular contact lens solution, Pink Solution cleaning product, nut-based snacking items, and more. Pretty good Costco in Canada. I have to be honest I wasn't sure what I was going to see inside the Costco, but I was curious on if there was any difference with the states. I think there were a few items that I didn't see in the states like some of the baked goods etc. There were also some stuffed toys that my kids were craving that we didn't see in the states either. I think the biggest surprise was the food court which had sundaes etc that were not offered where I'm in Arizona. Hopefully they put some of these types of foods in the states, getting bored of the offerings at Costco food court wise. Overall, Costco again is amazing and clean. This location has the rudest staff! If you don't speak Mandarin, it's even worse for you. I have given it a few opportunities but after 2 years of going here, I stopped because the customer service is below par. Now I drive 15 minutes farther to enjoy my Costco shopping. read more

Just experienced the worst and rudest customer service I've ever encountered in my life. I was waiting in line for returning an item. The line started from the hallway next to the shopping carts, and it took a few minutes before I reached the inside of the store. That's when I suddenly got yelled at by one employee, named Philip, telling me "GO TO THE BACK OF LINE!" several times. I was very confused and asked why I had to do that, since I had been waiting in line to return stuff. Then he shouted to me "到后面去" ("GO TO THE BACK OF LINE" in Chinese) disregarding what I told him. Until the man queueing in front of me told him that I was actually in line all the way, the employee stopped shouting. At that time, I was so shocked and upset and asked him "why do you have to yell at me in the first place" and told him how ridiculous this was. Instead of apologizing for his mistake, he kept talking furiously about how many people had cut the line those days blah blah - defending his wrong behaviour. But what does it have to do with me? I did nothing wrong! I told him I'll have to talk with his manager about the incident, and he replied "I'M RETIRED. I DON'T CARE!" and left. Wow, what an eye-opening experience. read more

This Costco is a great location, and the fact that there was more parking than I'd ever seen at a Costco made it something fantastic. Used to the more urban Costcos, I couldn't believe how many spaces there were. And, at the end of the day when all the stock is the same, it's the little things like not worrying about where to park your car, that make the biggest difference. read more

This is the smallest Costco space in North America but honestly, one of the best. Like all Costcos, this location is always busy whether it be the store itself or the food court. They have good management and keeps the lines rolling. Even though it is small, it is extremely packed with product. I've found mostly all that I need and normally buy at Costco's here. The main reason I am giving this location a 5 star is because the customer service is always top notch, even at its most busiest times, the employees work hard and are very welcoming. My preferred location in the GTA: on several occasions, staff at the check-out have actually spotted faulty produce/products in my cart (a bad banana in the bunch, for example) and run off into the crowded store to replace my purchase with something more worthy. Amazing customer service for a Saturday! The other appealing feature here is that you can park on the street beside the store when it's really busy, so you don't need to navigate the parking lot much. It's almost always busy enough to merit parking on the street, so I recommend you arrive caffeinated and with plenty of patience to spare. This is not going to be a quick pit stop, sorry. read more

It's never a pleasant experience. In the past, I have used Canadian Tire and have never had a great experience. Every change is a frustrating, long ordeal. Enter Costco. Costco is as good as it gets in my opinion for the best tire change experience. If they stored tires as well it would be a 5 based against other tire change services. Costco unlike a lot of other companies lets you book an appointment for your tire change. I have no idea how other companies still don't have a booking system in place. Canadian Tire, I'm looking at you. You can also come in as a walk in as well at the beginning of the day as the bookings don't start until the afternoon. I came in on a Sunday morning. The Costco location opens at 1000 but the auto department opens at 0800 for walk ins. I was 6th in line when I showed up. The employees were nice enough to open the main doors so we could wait inside instead outside in the rain. Being 6th in line, I was in the second group of cars to be worked on. I was told my appointment would start at 0900 and would be finished at 1000. Let me tell you how refreshing a statement that is for me. I have shown up as the 2nd person at Canadian Tire and it would still take over 3 and a half hours to get everything done. They don't tell you what time your car will be started and what time you finish. It's just your stuck until we're done, too bad. Costco was good on their time quote and I was out the door at 1000 give or take 5 minutes. Prices are about $20 cheaper than Canadian Tire as well. As I said before, Costco won't store tires for you which is a bummer if you're short on space. The other con is that you do need a membership to get your tire change here. It's still worth it in my opinion. A membership will set you back $60 but you're saving about $20 per change twice a year. It's almost already paid for itself on tire changes alone and you still have the benefit of using other Costco services the rest of the year. The overall experience alone is worth the price of membership if you ask me. So yeah, long story short: I'm going to Costco for my tire changes now. End of story. As long as you're already a Costco member, I don't see any reason why not to. read more

This is our go-to location when we visit the Greater Toronto Area, since we're usually staying at a hotel around the Markham area. Canadian Costcos are, for the most part, even more jam-packed than the stores in the Orlando area at least - and this is WITHOUT all the tastings and samplings that often draw in the riff-raff. One thing you need to know is that they don't sell wines or beers at Costcos in Canada - alcohol is strictly controlled by a provincial board, and is available only at retail outlets they run. Second tip - they don't check your card when you enter, which leads to tip #3: Canadian Costcos are affiliated with MasterCard. So payment has to be cash, debit or MC. With that tucked under your belt, go ahead and shop for those items like Smarties and Coffee Crisp - only in Canada, eh! read more

If you like buying in bulk, then Costco is perfect for you. This warehouse is huge, with huge variety of items available. I think I've been here probably about 50 times, and have seen different items in stock each time I've been here. The only reason I'm not rating this place very high is that the line crowding is horrendous, especially on weekends. It also doesn't help that with the way the store is set up, the psychological effect causes many customers to lineup in the left half of the cashiers, while the right half has relatively less people. I generally don't mind crowding (I'm Asian after all), but if it can be avoided, then that's an issue. Funny thing is, in all the times I've been here I've never eaten at their small food outlet behind the cashiers. Perhaps I'll try one day. read more

This is one of the smaller CostCo I have been to in GTA. The selection is a bit odd as in my experience other than certain region/demographic items which are location specific they pretty much carry the same variety at most locations. Surprisingly this location is a bit lacking when it comes to cheese/produce as I missed out on the certain staples. The setup is like most other stores and on a weekday evening there was a spartan crowd which is appreciated. There were no items that stood out for me. So while comparing it to other CostCo's this location is 3.5 stars (still 4 stars over other grocery stores) I haven't been to the Markham location so can't comment which one is better. read more

I can't really give this costco a one star rating. Because the main problem for me is how busy this location is!! And how awful the parking is. Tuesday, 11am - why is the parking lot filled?? Seriously.. looks like a saturday afternoon. Dont these people work?? There's no mega sale, or 80% off sale. So why so busy. This costco location must be clean and efficient, which it was when i was here. They must give excellent service... my cashier was fast. So thats why its so busy... So costco - nice job! But the parking is a turn off!! Too busy, on a weekday too. I also had fries and hotdog and drink for lunch here. Tables are filled quickly. Fries were not hot, luke warm. Hot dog was luke warm. I don't usually have to worry about the quality of the things I buy here and I am quite pleased with their brand selections. I usually come to this location over the one near warden on canadian road because no matter how busy it is I can usually find some parking at the far end. I would however recommend that they try and fix their poutine. Its generally usually pretty tasty but recently Ive been getting it where the gravy is warm and not hot enough to melt the curds. I brought it back to them once and their fix was to add more cold gravy making it way too salty. The next time this happens I will just ask "Do you accept credit cards?" cause the food stand does not. read more

It has become a family tradition to come here every Sunday morning. I especially loved coming here as a kid because there's always lots of samples (especially around Christmas!). This location is probably one of the busiest locations in Toronto. I find the selection at this particular Costco to be somewhat slimmer than other locations, probably because of its popularity (stock moves very quickly). For example, the Newmarket location has more shampoo brands than this location. Usually anything that is new and popular sells out in a day or two. The lines for returning items are always super long here, so be prepared to wait if you want to return something at this location. read more

They are the smallest Costco I've ever visited and had none of the items I was looking for, which are available at any of the other GTA locations, very disappointing. This is a review of the food primarily @ Costco. In a nutshell this time around it was really blech. I am used to the quality of their poutine and pepperoni pizza. However, being on a diet I tried to eat their chicken salad. It was a cold piece of chopped dry chicken, with barely any flavor left. I just had to dilute it with lettuce in order to make it bearable. I tried a bit of their chicken tenders, ugh that one was equally as bad. At least the bed of fries it was on wasn't too bad, I just ate a couple of sticks just to mask out the taste of the chicken and yucky batter. So moral of the story is, don't order the chicken at the Costco cafe. read more

If you have something to return at Costco on a weekend, I'll pray for you. Their policy is downright ridiculous. I had a brand name sweater I purchased one size too big so I brought it back to exchange for a small. Associates and store manager instruct that even though I'm exchanging, I must return the garment first, pickup the small sweater from the shelf and then go wait behind a dozen full shopping carts for an hour to purchase the 1 sweater again. I asked if I can just pickup the small size garment, go to customer service and complete my exchange, manager refused. Store policy states their customer service machines are quote ''not programmed to cash out customers.'' Well... This is the year 2016. After a fair bit of arguing, they were able to get me out of there in about 40 minutes. In terms of product selection I do like this store a lot more than the Warden location. But they could use some customer service lessons. read more

Costo isn't an alley per se, but compared to the temples of gastronomy that routinely grace these (web) pages, Costco is decidedly downscale. I'd give full points for value, but realize it's a bit of a shame. After all, you have to pay $50 or more to get through the doors. Suddenly, my $1.50 hot dog seems less of a bargain. Who am I kidding I don't usually let myself eat hot dogs, but Costco provides the best esxcuse outside a public sporting event. The chicken tenders are just crispy enough to warrant the overkill of salt and snazzy accompanying Heinz sauce packets. The fries are frozen and battered, which would make my inner escoffier cry. My inner Guy Fieri throws up gang signs and dips to his atherosclerotic heart's content. And they have soft-serve ice cream. Swirl away, mofos. One might question the point of the exercise, given how Costco is basically larded with free samples. Perhaps one should shut one's face, and just enjoy the luxury of ordering off the kid's menu as an adult. ? read more

I have been to 10 Costcos in Ontario and Quebec and the experiences have always been present. However this one is not. I only buy stuff that is small and unique in Costco as I am single and don't want to buy in large bulks. This past weekend when I was checking out 3 items and just after I take my credit card out of my wallet, the cashier ripped my credit card off my hand, compare my name with the membership card and to my surprise, tap it, before I had a chance to see the amount. He did not speak a single word to me during the whole process and handed me my credit card back without looking at me. He acted as if I stole the membership card and do not know how to tap a credit card properly. I understand when Costco check the name on credit card, but to tap it without my consent, is not acceptable. Also Costco tend to check my credit card when I am buying 1-3 items. In other words, if you are not buying a whole cart, you could be treated without respect because they suspect you are not a member as everyone else is buying a lot. read more
