This one's definitely not my favorite winners location. It's convenient to get to, but I find their selections of clothing are not as great. The changing rooms also seriously need to be maintained. It's so dusty, there's always a pile of dust bunnies blowing around in there. The home section is okay. Its kinda messy and I don't often find goodies here. Beauty section is also quite messy. They have those end aisle sections for clearance items and usually it's open or spilling product. I wouldn't bother to try selling those because it's just very unsanitary. Staff here are really nice though and will help you best they can if you're trying to locate something or notice broken/spilling things. Cashier here is very fast. Even if the line looks long, they're so good with calling in reimbursements and getting that line down right away. read more

Markham is blessed with three Winners stores. This one has been here for eons. It's located at Markham Woodside. The name always throws me off because I think of Woodside Square in Scarborough. Anyway, it's next door to Kitchen Stuff Plus, which is highly convenient. This Winners isn't my favourite. It makes sense to me why I haven't got around to doing a review until now. It's not a horrible store. I find that the selection is either spot on or disappointing, depending on what I need. Over a decade ago, when I worked for a company in Scarborough, it was hosting its first user symposium. I played a few roles, including updating our corporate Web site with photos and information about the event. I needed business clothes. My friend and I came to this Winners to get some decent apparel. This store holds my personal record for spending the most time at a Winners during a single visit. We spent two hours looking at and trying on blazers, blouses, and pants. I ended up buying a blazer and a blouse. The blazer still works and has stood the test of time. I have since worn it numerous times for various job interviews. It's kind of my lucky blazer. Sadly, the blouse didn't last as long as the blazer. I recently went back to this store to check it out. I was here for one thing: a PopSocket. A couple of weeks ago, I got a new phone case for my new phone. I needed a new PopSocket, as I might as well go with this new streak. I came here last Wednesday after running a number of errands. There is always plenty of parking. I parked fairly close to the store and walked in. A friendly guy was manning a hand sanitizer station. He was great. I said hi and walked in. Purses greeted me next. Sadly, there wasn't a single Kipling bag for me to gush over. I was sad. I like that most Winners stores have similar layouts. I immediately found the phone accessories section, which is right by the checkout. There were lots of PopSocket designs to choose from. I was happy and selected the one that won my heart. I avoided the shoe section. I don't need more shoes! The selection of women's size 11 footwear is also hit or miss. It's all about timing. The store's interior is much more inviting than I recall. Aisles are wider. The lighting is better. I liked the improvements since I was last here. I paid using a debit card. There wasn't a lineup at 7 pm on a Wednesday night. I got my TJX Style+ card scanned, too. I thanked the woman and left. Here's hoping that it offers Kipling bags soon. It's a good Winners. It's just not my favourite out of the three in Markham, but it had what I needed during this visit. (429) read more

I have to be honest, I think I have outgrown winners. One has to have the luxury of excess time to plough through the items, on the off-chance that you'll find a bargain (clothing). The comestibles here were disappointing. Huge store, didn't turn my crank. I will give this store credit, however, for being much more organized than the one near where I live, and the aisles were far more reasonably spaced apart. I was going to do a thorough walk through of this Winners since I hadn't found any good deals in a long time. I feel like I never really spend enough in the bath and beauty section so I started there. Right off the bat I noticed that they carry some Every Man Jack products that can be expensive. They have a lot of different masks for face, lip, and the eye area. There were also some brand name ones like The Creme Shop, including Hello Kitty licensed ones. There were some lesser known brands as well. I checked out where they were made. The majority seemed like they were produced in China but there were a couple that were made in Korea which was lucky. Each section has one area that is dedicated to clearance items. Here I found a bunch of diffusers and some hair styling tools. One thing that has changed over the years is the price of Chi straighteners. These ones were smaller, printed with patterns, and only $60, not bad at all! The one area that this store was lacking was in the active wear. They didn't seem to have a lot that was really dedicated workout wear that you could sweat in. Other than that, a pretty great Winners with pretty high quality options. read more

I generally like winners and this one is not an exception. The store is fairly neat and tiny and the aisles are clear for browsing. On this particular occasion I bought a pair of Lolë exercise leggings for $39.99. No doubt, it's much more expensive elsewhere. I could never find anything good in my size here. Or things I've seen at other winners locations aren't available here (was looking for shiseido). Never bought anything from this winners. There's no scrapbook section like at other Winner's stores. Definitely lots to browse though. Good sized Winners location. Though the purse department looks like it was decimated. Only found two Matt & Nat bags there & it wasn't what I was looking for. Not much other selction in terms of brands. Largest sections were for clothing. Shoe area was smaller than I expected. I think there are better stocked Winners than this one. I am no stranger to Winners as there are 2 within walking distance of where I work, 2 within driving distance of my house, and plenty of others that I've gone to before. This one has got to be one of the worst ones I've been to. While selection is plentiful, the quality and trendiness of their apparel is underwhelming. They do however, have one of the biggest men's sections I've seen at any Winner's. All of their Christmas stuff is piled up in front (mostly chocolates and gift sets), and their foods section is quite scant. Perhaps the worst part of this Winners for me was the lineup at the cash register that seemed like it never moved. It wouldn't hurt to put a few more cashiers on the till especially being holiday season. It was an unpleasant line of snakes and ladders and I'm glad I was near the front of it as it would definitely turn me away if I were only wanting to grab a few items. read more

If you are lucky you'll find some good deals. I love coming in & buy a thing or two but low stars are due to the misleading "comparable" pricing. If you google the product, the winner price is the same as their regular pricing, hence the increased "comparable" price is very misleading. read more

I bought an Air Canada brand luggage from this store not 3 years ago. The warranty pamphlet clearly stated 10 years warranty. It was seldom used and never subjected to abuse. Recently the telescoping handle could not be extended. Today I brought the receipt and the luggage back to this store but they refused to honor any warranty service, regardless of what had been printed clearly on the warranty to return to point of purchase for warranty service. I would not purchase anything from Winners in future and I do not recommend this store to anyone. read more
