    Shoe explosion at Costco
    Peter T.

Anytime there are shoes or sandals available here there is a shoe explosion. It becomes a huge mess of people opening boxes and trying on shoes and sandals. The produce here is not the freshest. When I buy produce often times it goes bad before the expiration date. Costco does take back it's produce if it goes bad before it's expiration date, that's the only reason I give this location 3 stars otherwise it would be two stars. As I've been disappointed with the produce going bad before the expiration date too many times.

New fav - Tazo chai latte. Thank me later

There are always new products to discover at Costco. My latest fab finds: - Sleek desk lamp with integrated wireless phone charger for about $50 - Tazo chai latte in a carton pack of 3 - I was looking at it, and a random customer came up and recommended it. Just mix it with milk for the perfect sweetness, like having an SBUX chai latte at home. I dilute a quarter of it with dairy/almond milk. - Fancy desserts in a glass for under $15, this time we're trying the Crème brûlée. Perfect for reuse as a sauce tray or drip tray for planters. I've also previously reused some of their other small glasses for plant propagation and spirits. The Crème brûlée is a bit trickier to work as you need to sprinkle the sugar on top and torch or broil it. I put mine in an air fryer for 2min and not a hard shell but decent enough. - I always come here to restock bulk Kirkland almond milk for less. They have a range of plant based beverages - If you're looking for gifts for children, there are Lego sets, LOL doll surprise present boxes $35~, and Kit Kat Gingerbread house kit $10 or $15. - I recently discovered they have Kirkland Marinara sauce! I bought some too but yet to try If you see an item you want, you might as well pick it up in case of supply chain shortages during the holidays.

Purchased 3 Costco Food Court pizzas for work lunchtime party. So good, even my co workers were impressed of the decent quality of the pizza. Great, and ready quickly! Would return!

Shopping at Costco can be such a stressful experience but this newer location with a better layout might help. Separate food court area Wider aisles Separate cooler rooms for different perishables Ample spacious parking Big box store getting even bigger! Maybe shopping at Costco is not that bad after all.

Large and bright food court with lots of windows. Yes, the line started here.

This is the newest and closest location to my office so I stopped in on my way home to check it out. It's huge! The layout is mostly familiar but it feels a lot bigger than most other locations. There were some exclusive grand opening specials but nothing that I needed. The biggest difference I noticed with this location is the food court. It's huge and bright, with large windows. It also has its own separate entrance but no direct access to the store. That makes it easy for non-members to enjoy a meal but maybe not so good for nearby restaurants. The food court serves all the regular popular items, including hot dogs, sausages, pizza, fries, chicken fingers, chicken wings, ice cream, and more. Today, I had the 10pc chicken wings (6.99), fries (2.69), and a fountain drink (.79). The coated fries have always been one of my favourites. The wings, a relatively new item, were crispy and juicy. It comes with a choice of dipping sauce but I prefer mine naked. For under $12 (with tax), it was a great deal for a complete delicious meal.

Clearly social distancing is front and centre. Getting into Csotco required social distancing and sanitizing the hands. In the cooked food area, they removed the benches and ordering is done through the machine kiosks. As well, you now let the employee know which fountain drink and they will pour it for you.

    Long lineups for returns

This location is one of the more disorganized ones. I've never had a fast and efficient experience here. Returns take forever. The pic I posted is only half of the return lineup and it's after waiting 20 minutes. It's always a long line for returns here. Ridiculous.

Costco is always a high traffic place to shop no matter the time of week or time of day you visit. I recently stopped by during the holiday and was surprised I was able to walk right in. The warehouse was not crowded and was able to comfortably shop and maneuver my cart around. I was there around 1:30pm and the rotisserie chickens were just out of the oven. I was able to pick up one that's fresh which is a huge bonus. When I was ready to check out, I went to the self check out area where there was no lineup at all. I had 2 checkouts to choose from also which was very surprising to me. This is a very comfortable location to shop at and I will definitely be back. After check out, I pretty much walked straight up to the girl at the exit to check my receipt and got out. At the take out area which is separate from the warehouse, I was able to walk up to the kiosk to order my food and it was ready to pick up very quickly also. Because of covid, they blocked off all the tables to dine there, but it wasn't a problem. Everybody purchased their food to go.

One of the newer GTA locations and the selection is not bad. The staffing however is horrible hence the 1 star review. The staff here must be unionized as their I don't give a shit and I cannot be fired attitude is very common. I though Costco once prided them selves on customer service... not any more... this location truly needs an attitude adjustment from able bodied staff using handicapped spots. Rusty the grouch tops the list in bad customer service. She should not be working and only confined in a garbage can

Folks I am a big fan of Costco so was eagerly awaiting the opening of this location. I wasn't too keen on visiting on a Saturday as heard about the crowds when they opened up. A pleasant surprise the place wasn't busy at all with plenty of parking spots (maybe its due to the lack of a gas station which creates a bottle neck). Initial impression this is one of the largest Costco store in GTA I have visited. The Aisles seem to be wider/brighter than normal. Some new items for electronics that I haven't seen at other spots. My main reason for visiting are the food items and boy this place didn't disappoint. Mind you they seem to focus on the subcontinent as there were so many items I haven't seen elsewhere. Mega block of paneer, huge jar of ghee, variety of lentils, Atta (plain and whole grain), few types of rice, multiple sauces for cooking the list goes on and on. The spice aisle really shines as they had some hard to find one's at amazing prices (its Costco after all). Some variety of halal chicken. Personally I think they are a bit lacking for organic items but that might change soon. Now the big question will this becomes my go to Costco spot hmm unlikely as getting here on TTC isn't as easy for moi (north york location being the best) and I prefer the Etobicoke location if taking a car due to proximity and more variety of items that I purchase. Will revisit to explore more for sure.

I Set up there Ottawa location for the company Toronto management very Toxic they give opportunity based off Prejudice personal views first not professional, they talk trash about staff/customer base, other religions, staff members wife's cause of their views no basic respect or gratitude for the business they get, zero safety standard banged my foot there saying don't do "incident reports" they operate a lift u need a license for not having one, will belittle you an take advantage of everything you do giving opportunity or training to people based off prejudice views first and they end up leaving the company its unprofessional joke, just taking advantage of the government kick back on wages by hiring certain people and screwing everyone else. Worked at there Ottawa location for 3 years took over there sales floor changed 90% of it setting up there store for the company, covered an fixed everything all pricing/items not in the system, merchandising issues made that store function for the longest time. Was kept on the side the whole time even when they did the initial change of chemicals I was already doing everything at that point an the Toronto management did the walk with the manager and a buddy of the company who was hired for only a few weeks to help them out, I was working that day ended taking over a day later having to call Toronto management cause the manager told me to call them after that I did the rest of the store pretty much doing everything covering the whole floor, a lot of customer service and all the trucks I unloaded Ambient/freezer even transfers or store maintenance you name it I covered and fixed it all. Having to bud in all the time to help them out for the store to function, I had ask for all my raises and promotion they gave me floor supervisor and found out somebody already had it who knew the owner. I worked 2x to 3x harder compared to everyone else to get that position it was fake found out they would make fun of fact he had that position probably me too when they gave it to me. The floor supervisor position got no training or opportunity in the company got to a point where I called Toronto management to see if I had a actually future in the company, was intentionally verbally attacked with the most ignorant distain and disrespect you could imagine, mocking my position bringing up how that staff member already had the position and it meant nothing just trying to trigger me so he could fire me knowing they brought in others and could take advantage of everything I did instead of getting me involved like I earned and having me there a fair amount of time a week 6/7 days so I could do things properly not being on overdrive for them all the time too keep the store going and being takin advantage of. Immediately after that Toronto management put staff in departments to push me out brought in staff from Toronto also, when he brought in the first one they walked in an I was walking out to do something he starred me down with the most pathetic look you could imagine like you're screwed looking at a angle so the new staff couldn't see, even after all that I still finished the rest of the theme/setups I had planned and helped the new Manager fix all the main inventory problems that were in the system he was forced into the situation I don't blame him. Made multiple HR complaints all got ignore they just condone what the management does and protects them, no safety standard either company is very bias there's no earning you way.

This totally gave me an uncomfortable feeling right off the bat. The place itself looks like an ugly dirty basement turned into a store. This place has trendy merchandise for ladies for low prices. They have everything from basics, tee's, tunics, dresses, vests, jackets, shoes, lingerie etc. The quality of the items are hit or miss. The store has a couple of rules- you are only allowed to try on 5 clothing items 'a day' in their changing room. If you have any more, you have to come another day to try them on- what?! Also, their method of payment is cash only. The staff constantly watches you while you browse and don't seem too friendly unless you look like you're going to purchase something. To my surprise, I ended up picking out a few things- two summer tunics and a cardigan; a total of $30. The tunics lasted one season before they fell apart. The cardigan however is still vibrant and intact. In the end, I would not recommend Star Fashion because it's an uncomfortable place to shop, most of their merchandise lack quality, and you may have your face plastered on the front door with 'wanted' written over it for trying on more than 5 items in their changing room that day.

They do have a nice selection of different kitchen/small household appliances with reasonable prices. They have dinnerware items of different themes, cutting boards, tons of chopsticks, and so much more. I heard about MC Mart from an old Chinese couple who heard about it from another in a senior activities center. So yeah, it is a word of mouth place. MC Mart is located on Passmore, east of Kennedy, where there is absolutely no reason for a retail store to exist. The store is no frills. The sign says it is a wholesaler, which it is, but it also sells to walk-in retail customers. Upon entrance, it is a mess of junks that attract no one. The goodies are in the big warehouse in the back. There you shop for all the well known Japanese, Korean and Chinese name brands rice cookers and hot water thermo boiler. The list prices are artificial, as there is a perpetual 20% discount. Last I shopped a few years ago, the prices were either the same or 5% cheap than the prices anywhere in Scarborough, Markham and Richmond Hills areas. Other than electronics, there are arrays of kitchenware, flatware, and dinnerware. They supply Asian restaurants, so there are shelves of woks, special uses pots, pans and containers, cutting boards, streamers, kitchen scissors, you name it. I don't see name brands for these, but I do see accessories and equipment for Chinese cooking that are seldom sold in grocery stores and other general merchandise stores. There are household cleaning and laundry supplies as well. The mess I can deal with, and there is a logic behind the maze. I am however disappointed that the selection of dinnerware is not good. Where do I go uptown to find nice dinnerware for Chinese food? Maybe this is why I have to travel to Tap Phong still. This is no Tap Phong, but it might be as good as it gets in North Toronto for retail customers.
