My car takes text messages and reads them to me. This one said that all laptops worldwide were down and to not reboot them. It seemed like an ominous, suspicious scam, but maybe not. I took the next ramp off the highway, which was Islington. I do miss this area. I used to stay at the Delta. I don't know what happened, but the hotel looks like it's permanently closed. It's such a shame, as I loved staying at this hotel. Just north of this hotel is a plaza with a Walmart and Scotiabank. I pulled in and parked in front of this Dollarama. The emergency broadcast text was legitimate. It was from my employer, but it never stated that detail. I looked at the incident number in the text message and I recognized it as being an internal one. I logged on to my work e-mail on my phone and it was indeed a valid issue. Luckily, I was off from work. This broadcast text kind of ruined my not logging on to check my messages, but it would have been stressful trying to do work when you can't. Anyway, since I was parked in front of this Dollarama, I might as well go in and check it out, right? Right! This dollar store is decent. I saw mini Star Wars oven mitts that were cool. I didn't need any. If I did, I'd get the pair with R2-D2 and Grogu. I'm glad that I stopped by. I got sugar-free chocolate orange mints. I tried them when I got home and they are yummy. The candy aisle is extensive. I also needed cotton swabs. I got a package of 500. It's my first time getting them at a dollar store. I hope they are good. The phone accessories are cool. I enjoy looking at them. I also like the food and drinks aisle. I picked up a small bottle of Diet Pepsi. It's oddly priced at 87 cents. This store has self-checkout kiosks. I still like interacting with a human being. I got a nice woman who helped cash me out. She asked if I needed a bag. I didn't and saved one. I paid with my debit card. All done! I wished this woman a nice day an left with my purchases. There is plenty of parking in this plaza. I was here at around 10:30 am. My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when I looked at how much the prices were for canned tuna. The cheapest can was going for $4.40. Um, no. I need cheaper. I remembered that this Dollarama store was in the same plaza. I'd try my luck for canned tuna here. I frankly don't know why it took me so long to visit this store. I am in this plaza for Kettleman's Bagels and Farm Boy. I can add this store to the mix. This Dollarama is probably the largest one that I've ever been to. It was spacious and inviting. Halloween and Fall decor merchandise hit me when I first walked through the doors. I was on a mission to get canned tuna, so I walked the food, beverage, and candy aisles. They were easy to find and nicely organized. I found my cans of tuna. $1.25 for a can was definitely better than what I saw at Farm Boy. I saw Pasta Roni next to the canned tuna section. It intrigued me. Too bad I didn't see Rice a Roni. I would have freaked out even more by belting out the jingle. The beverages at this store were great. I saw everything from Gatorade to kombucha. This store has Bai and a huge assortment of pop, too. I need to return and try Ocean Spray's diet cranberry. It was my first time spotting it. I had a competent, friendly man at the checkout. He was relaxed and nice. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I had a reusable bag with me. I stuffed it with my purchases, thanked the man, and headed to my car. Last Saturday, I was in Scarborough to pick up some takeout for dinner. After fetching my food, I did a search to find a dollar store and found this Dollarama across the street from where I was. Perfect! This store is in a corner of a plaza where Markham Street Station is. I found parking closer to the RBC bank and backed into a spot. I then walked over to check the store out. The merchandise is laid out similar to most Dollarama stores. You get seasonal items, which is Valentine's Day and Easter merchandise that immediately greet you. The selection was decent. Gift cards are right by the entrance. It's a trend. It doesn't work for me, though. Getting a gift card is the last thing I want to do when I'm at a dollar store. I'm getting goods for me! This store had a lot of candy. I was impressed. The selection was fabulous. I liked seeing sugar-free options. One-litre bottles of Pepsi products are indeed a dollar at this store. Most items start at $1.25. It's nice that you can still get something for a loonie. I end up getting a couple of bottles when I want pop. I tend to get either Diet Pepsi or Pepsi Zero. I like getting tissue paper at Dollarama. It does make your gift bag more festive with pretty tissue paper. It's nice and it doesn't breaking your budget. It's bigger than most dollar stores I've been to. They offer bath products, toys, crafts, kitchen supplies, birthday supplies, souvenirs, candy, home decoration pieces, etc. The quality of their products are good. The aisles are quite spacious but the store can get busy, making it a bit difficult to shop. There are always plenty of cashiers on board. They are quick and friendly but the lines are still long. Overall, a great place to hit if you don't want to spend a whole lot of cash.
