Chances are that it will be more crowded than going to a standalone store. I was right. This store is by mall entrance 9. You take the elevator down to the store. There's also an elevator if you need one. This store was pretty busy. I liked what it had to offer. Pepsi products greeted me. I liked the Mickey Mouse set with a whisk, towel, and spatula. It was cheerful and cute. The ice cube trays were cool. I liked the larger cube moulds. They were bright and had silicone at the bottom of each cube, allowing you to easily pop cubes out for your refreshments. The snacks and drinks aisles were impressive. I liked the variety. The chip selection was excellent. I came here for pasta sauce and macaroni. I found everything that I needed. I headed to the cashout area. There was one human cashier. There were roughly eight self-checkout kiosks there. I used the latter. It's hit or miss using one at Dollarama. Sometimes, it's smooth sailing. Other times, it seems to want to give me a hard time. Luckily, I was able to scan my two items and pay without any issues. I didn't buy a lot. I had parked a good distance away from this store, so carrying them wasn't an issue. If I had made a larger purchase, I wouldn't have been as happy lugging everything that far away. It's a good store. It's convenient if you are at the mall and need something. The store is kept reasonably clean and tidy considering how busy it gets, especially around lunch hour. The self-checkout machines keep the line moving quickly, which is a huge plus. I did a search and found this Dollarama roughly seven minutes away from where I was. I drove over there. The drive was fine. This Dollarama is in a plaza anchored by Sobeys and LCBO. This store is between PetValu on the left and Pizza Pizza on the right. I spotted a parking spot steps away from the main entrance. I backed into the spot and then headed inside. It's a spacious store. Greeting me were six-pack cases of Pepsi mini varieties, six different Doritos flavours, and packages of Haribo gummies. I knew that I had entered a decent dollar store. I like getting canned goods from Dollarama. They are decent, especially when you are running out of groceries and can raid your pantry instead. I ended up with pasta sauce, Chef Boyardee (comforting and I like that you can crack these cans open without any tools), and luncheon meat. I also got a package of spaghettini. I ended up making a huge pot of spaghetti with garlic and herb sauce. It turned out nicely and I didn't break the bank. I like that this place had two different brands of lemon juice. Seeing lemon juice at a dollar store wasn't a thing two years ago. I was elated to find some exciting, cool finds to me. The first one was small escargots in cans. I have never made escargots. I am inspired to give it a try in future. I last had some in Winnipeg at a fancy restaurant several years ago. They were so good, likely because it had more butter than anything. I was also pleased that this store had Viva Puffs and Dare cookies with the cream filling. I love the former with raspberry and marshmallow filling. Although this store didn't have the Dare coconut cream cookies, it had lemon and fudge flavours that I also love. So cheap and yummy! This store ranks high on my list of decent Dollarama stores. The only issue was using the self-checkout kiosk and getting a weird error that I needed to remove an item at the kiosk and I had nothing. There weren't any humans at the regular checkout area, so you were forced to use the kiosks. However, I had the most helpful and nice young female staffer get rid of this error. I thanked her. I liked my brief time at this store. I'll need to keep my eyes peeled for escargots at other stores. I know that my local one does not carry them, so you may see me back here soon when I am ready to try my hand preparing them. (19)

Large location with a large selection especially of cat products and excellent stock too. Lots of budget conscious items, however, some higher end items, but some though not as many as locations closer to wealthier areas. Good number of self check-out stations but usually at least two cashiers available, as this one seems to be a combination of teenagers and seniors. A short to no wait from lining up to exiting the store. A little less clean and tidy than many stores of this chain I have been to, although maybe it's just my high standards. In fact, had I not been wearing sunglasses at the time as a semi successful attempt to avoid social contact with the community there, I'm sure I would have run the risk of my bulging, paranoid eyes popping right out of their sockets during my trip here. Once you are inside the store, the place is actually pretty nice. Of course, I'm talking dollar store standards, but I'd consider this a good one. It's a good size for starters, nothing like the dinky little ones at malls, and very well lit. Fantastic selection of the usual things. And to top it off, the staff are friendly :) (minus the grunting security guards). But the overriding "dud factor" of this store is it's location. I guess it's hard to find a store front which would be able to accommodate such a large retail establishment, but the community is such a turn off! It smelled like piss outside (just last week I had seen some guy peeing across the street too, in broad daylight!), locals within sight were of the homeless variety, a girl clad in a neon skirt and dingy bra was street walking outside. And there was of course the less-than-desirable regular clientele (think of the guests on the Maury Povich show) yelling at the workers to help them with navigation.
