Then we found Mike. He does great work and I feel was very reasonably priced. He was there the same day we called to quote us at no charge and started working the next day on our septic tank. Needless to say our septic tank was so so old and huge roots had grown into the field drain so it was an extensive job. He stayed until after midnight to fix the problem and not make us be without water for more than a day. I am very grateful to him and will use him from now on with any plumbing issues we may have.

But he did give a couple recommendations of things to try in case it was not necessary for a full septic pump out and was maybe a big clog between the house and septic. The price estimates given on the phone when you call, "Affordable" Septic Services are NOT the price you will probably end up paying. Like the other Yelp postings warned, the price increases occur while they are on site and at a point where it would be difficult to stop the work. They even raise the price on jobs that are done preventively where there have been NO PROBLEMS!! The person answering the phone reassured me the price our size septic tank would be the estimated price and would not be raised like other yelpers had reported. According to the job foreman-there apparently are "always issues" found, so they raise the price AFTER the holes are dug. Based on our experience, It appears you can't really get the actual price they will charge you before the work has already started and there are big holes in your yard! We have had NO PROBLEMS EVER with our septic after buying the house. NO PROBLEMS ! It has worked PERFECTLY !! We told the person on the phone this before the crew arrived and told the crew that showed up. When they dug two big holes and uncovered the two openings to the septic tank, they FOUND NO PROBLEMS!! They asked when it was last pumped and we told them we were not sure but we had not pumped it in the past 6 years, AFTER THEY DUG THE TWO BIG HOLES IN THE YARD, AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS, THEY TOLD US THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE $175 MORE THAN THE PRICE THEY HAD ORIGINALLY TOLD US FOR THE JOB BECAUSE WE HAD NOT FOLLOWED THE NATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO PUMP EVERY 5 YEARS. Again- there was NOTHING WRONG with our septic system. When they had us in a bind with the big deep holes dug and the septic system open to the air, and no pumping had been done -they told us it would be $175 more than they had originally told us the job would be.

We called this company on Wednesday last week to let him know we had the permit for the new septic…read moresystem. We has spoken earlier and he said he needed the permit to give an estimate. The estimate appointment was scheduled for Saturday. He never showed, he never called, he didn't answer any of our calls on Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. We quit calling and are looking for another company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They have no regard for anyone's time, and their behavior, totally blowing us off and ignoring our calls, was very unprofessional. Keep looking for some other company.
