Going to the website they've…read moreonly been in business three years at this location. if that is accurate the original service may have been from the one in Duluth. Five years ago, we bought our house and had it pumped just for peace of mind for moving in. We were getting an odor in our house now five years later, so of course I called them again. Upon inspection, they said there was damage to the tank and that was why we were getting the odor, and said it would be $3500 to repair. We would need to pump the tank either before or after. So I told him to go ahead and just pump it. They were here about 15 minutes pumping and charged me $450 which is their standard rate apparently. They cannot access the second lid and according to AI a septic company should pump out of both lids when they do a pumping job for 1000+ tank. Anyway, after the job was done, I paid them, actually before the job was done. I then had a Plummer inspect and said everything was in working mortar and then we located the source of the smell, which was a cut drain pipe from some flooring we had redone, and the drain pipe was never capped so the fumes were coming straight in from the septic tank into our laundry room. After a five dollar tap was put on the smell was eliminated. I then called Pumpco back again telling them that I thought it was unfair to spend 15 minutes for $450. His response was that they don't pump for less than $450, despite the fact that they did five years ago only charged me 200+ dollars because the tank didn't really need pumping. He also told me that you only have to access one lid to be able to pump a septic tank. Upon saying that I wasn't really talking to a reasonable person that was worried about future business, despite the fact that I'd love him a very positive view five years ago, it was obvious just take the money and run. I don't even need a new septic repair either as they were trying to get 3500 more dollars out of me. Originally I called about the odor, and was told they would give a free inspection. I said I would be more than happy to tip the workers for their time and had $40 in my pocket ready to do so. What I got was a whole different experience. I'm not saying they're an accurate about being able to pump from one tank instead of both lids, which one was inaccessible. So make your own decisions. I'm just sharing this so that you can be aware. Just be cautious. In my mind, for 20 minutes of time and hooking up a hose to a tank shouldn't have cost me more than 200- $250. That's just my opinion and that's all it is. And it's just a two person home and probably didn't need it anyway.

After warning me of other companies that would take advantage of me, I was told that I needed to get the tank drained a second time in 2 months, have my leach fields drained and required a replacement of my baffle (with pvc pipe). When that was accomplished and the problems was still evident (my clog ended up being between the house and septic tank as I had described being able to make progress myself) they blew out the pipe with water from my house "for free." After spending close to $2k I really hope my issues are resolved. I will say they are very pleasant to deal with. I probably wouldn't be as annoyed if they would have simply not tried to assure me that I was getting such a good deal and tried using gimmicks to justify their cost. (showing me that the tank was full with water even though a septic system is designed to be full of water) I did reach out to them after receiving the invoice with my concerns and did not receive a reply. I paid the invoice as I'm not going to waste more time and energy on this issue. Sure hope others have a better experience than I did. I will say the first time they came out was on Thanksgiving day and I was most appreciative of how quick and easy the experience was. When problems came back shortly thereafter is when my concerns came up. In hind sight I should have shopped around, seems my naivety and ignorance on septics cost me.

Rafael showed me what the issue was, showed me how to fix it myself in the future and was in and out in 10 minutes. This is a person of integrity, no doubt. The really amazing part was that the night before he had a plumbing emergency of his own at his house but still showed up for my appointment. I would highly recommend Rafael and Cardinal Plumbing.

I had called my home warranty service late on a Friday afternoon knowing I would have to wait up to 24 hours "on a business day" for the plumbing service to reach out to me to schedule the appointment. I was dreading the typical delays, phone tag, and poor customer service I have previously experienced whenever using a home warranty service. However, this time it was different. I received a call on the following Monday morning with their willingness to work around my schedule for same day appointment! I had learned from past experience to take a few moments to look up reviews for the companies offered by the home warranty service. The first two companies offered had only 1.5 stars on Yelp! This third company (Mr. Clean Drain) had 5 stars but only 1 review. I decided to take a chance and go with them, and I am so glad I did! Arlie and Frankie were very friendly, punctual, knowledgeable, and efficient. They fixed both my shower faucet (tub spout diverter) and also replaced the fill valve in my toilet and were in and out in less than 20 minutes! They even explained to me what the problems were and how they were able to fix them. I couldn't be more pleased with this plumbing experience, and they made my day! I hope this review--the second one on Yelp--helps other customers see that they are a premier plumbing company. Stop looking at other companies and pick this one! You'll be so glad you did! 5 stars!!! (Would give 6 if I could)

Turns out that they had been sold. The guy (kid) that came out pumped some of the tank, and told me that the blockage was because of a dip in the pipe running from the house to the tank. $350 later after having a camera run - turns out no dip, bend, or crack. Just a blockage right at the tank inlet. Called Sludgebusters and 'lo and behold, they took a stick, ran it up the pipe and said "Yup, you have a blockage right here". Grabbed my garden hose, ran it up the pipe (all of 12" away from the tank) and busted through the blockage. Water came flooding in and service was restored. They also showed me, before they did any work, that the tank was about 3/4 full, 2 days after it had been "pumped" by the other company. And with a blocked line, nothing from the house had gone in. Sludgebusters came in, knew what the heck they were doing, and showed me every step of the way. They didn't try to push anything off on a plumber, just figured out how to get the job done. After a week of dealing with a blocked system - they had it handled in an hour. Thanks so much!!!
