I would say this is my second favorite poke of my whole trip. My first maguro brothers. Parking here is limited but we got lucky with a spot. The staff were friendly and there was a good variety of food. Prices were a bit more expensive than other places but with each poke bowl you get a free canned drink (soda or juice). The food was so fresh and the fish just melted in your mouth. I got the spicy ahi tuna and I loved that the spicy mayo actually was spicy, unlike what is served back home. They have a couple of picnic tables outside for you to enjoy your meal. Be careful, all the birds watching you might attempt to come in for a steal read more

I. love. poke! :') I'm not sure why I missed this on my first trip to Oahu, but I'm so happy I made it a point to visit Ono Seafood during my recent trip. My first meal, too! Ono is a small and popular spot. Parking is not ideal lol - I'm just glad I wasn't the one driving, lol. There's limited street parking. We had a fat list of things to eat, so we ordered multiple items to share. We're all about small meals, but many meals like little fatties :') We ordered: -1/4 pound of shoyu tako - our first time having tako poke and we all enjoyed it!! -1/4 pound of spicy salmon - probably my favorite out of the three we got -1/4 pound of shoyu ahi - can't go wrong with this -spicy cucumbers - I would heavily steer away from this.... this was incredibly salty :'( I usually LOVE cucumbers but wow. this wasn't it. -seaweed salad -rice - one side of rice was more than enough for us three The poke was melt in your mouth fresh. My tummy was quite happy after this meal. Definitely adding this to my list to return next time! Don't forget to walk down the street to get some malasadas for dessert :') hehe read more

Not overhyped, truly a deletable poke spot! So fresh and the flavoring is so good. I got a poke bowl with spicy ahi and miso ahi and the total came out to 17.80 which comes with a drink. I recommend coming earlier in the day when most of their options are available, we came around 3 PM straight out of the airport and they were out of the hawaiian ahi and brown rice. A note to myself: 1. spicy ahi 2. miso ahi 3. Shoyu ahi. All really good but just my personal preference! There was a mixed rating among my group. The portions are pretty big but if you're hungry one serving will do it for you. For girls with smaller appetites sharing one poke bowl was perfect for 2 of us! For californians who are used to californian poke: I recommend getting some toppings to give it some texture, it can be too much fish for some people. read more

It's one of the best poke's on Oahu. The ingredients are so fresh and simple. Unlike poke on the mainland where they put a lot of toppings on the poke, in Hawaii, they don't. Hawaiin poke the marinades are either shoyu based or mayonaise with spicy sauce like sriracha. Here, they also have miso and Wasabi marinated poke. At Ono, they have ahi- tuna, tako- octopus protein options only. The topping choices are furikake or togarashi and green onion. The steps to ordering are size (reg. or large), rice (white, sushi, mix), flavors, combo, and finally toppings. They offer sashimi platters as well, you need to order a day or two in advance for this option. Anyway, like I said this is one of the most famous and original spots for poke on the island. There are a few more hip spots that are good, too, but not great like this one. Mahalo and enjoy! read more

Small little hole in the wall with minimal seating. No bathrooms. Each poke bowl comes with a side drink. Bowls are 17$ each. They have octopus, tuna, and salmon. The bowl is mostly rice. There's such a small small portion of poke which is the reason I knocked off 2 stars. Actual poke is extremely fresh & flavorful. I ordered the #1 shoyu ahi I believe. Needs to be a bit more saucy to coat the rice. Toppings are extra 75cents each. They don't have the typical topping such as edamame, wonton chips etc. good place but not worth the price. read more

Yesterday afternoon, I decided to go to Ono Seafood for a poke bowl. Upon arriving home for my late lunch, I opened my poke bowl that I got, I took a bite of rice and poke together and immediately noticed that the rice was hard, uncooked and not edible. I was immediately disappointed as I paid almost $13.00 for my poke bowl when I could have gone to Foodland where I could get a poke bowl with hot rice. Disappointing to see that you can serve your patrons hard and uncooked rice. read more

I just want to say Aloha and Mahalo Ohana to this dope poke spot. Been wanting to try this for years. Poke back home in SoCal is not the same level and quality as in Hawaii. The line was not surprisingly long nor busy that day, so our food came out very quick. I ordered the combo mix with Hawaiian style ahi tuna and spicy mayo ahi. My gf ordered the spicy ahi tuna and the shoyo ahi. It comes with either brown or white rice. Everything was a 5/5. The Ahi tuna was not fishy and slimy at all. Each bite was tender and meaty. The flavors of the sauce went well together. The guy who helped us was very patient and kind. The combo also comes with a free drink which is pretty cool. Basically a full ass meal. I was so full at the end. It's right next to Taco Bell and the building is red; not hard to miss. Thankfully there were open tables for us to sit and enjoy the food. ONO!!! I love love love their Hawaiian-style ahi and Spicy Tako!!!!! My mouth is watery typing this! It's really hard to find a good place with yummy tako for some reason but Ono never disappoints. We took 6 lbs of assorted ahi, Fresh Salmon, and Tako home to the bay Because we wanted this bliss to last a little longer hahaha! My mom loved the spicy tako which is surprising Because it has a good kick and she doesn't do well with spicy but I'm glad she loved it, for my dad and sister they loved the Hawaiian style ahi and the spicy tako as well! the place is small and parking is tough but I promise it's all worth it. Sometimes you'll catch a line out the door, don't worry! it moves quickly and like I said, TRUST ME it is worth the extra mile. Cant wait to be back and get more spicy tako! read more

For some bomb poke near Waikiki, check Ono Seafood!! I've been coming here for a long time and the quality and portion hasn't changed. Yes prices have increased, but that doesn't take away their standard of fish and portion size. I was lucky that there wasn't a line and normally during lunchtime, it does get packed. Parking can be a a bit of an issue so try to beat the line! There is parking around the area. I ordered the poke bowl combo for $17, which you can choose up to two poke selections and includes a drink. I ordered the Hawaiian Style and Spicy Ahi poke. Hawaiian is almost like a shoyu poke but with limu. It was marinated nicely and I wasn't tried of it. Spicy Ahi was just the right amount of spicy and wasn't too mayo-heavy. Probably my recommended selection for sure. Ono Seafood doesn't disappoint, come and experience! Recommend to my family, friends and network! read more

MY FAV POKE PLACE ON THE ISLAND. Every time i come back, I always head over to Ono's. I tried many poke places around the island but Ono's still remains my number 1 place. It's definitely a tourist trap but it's so good. You can really taste the fresh quality of fish and the spicy ahi sauce is the best I have tasted. Consistent all the times I have been here. Although, inflation has risen prices here, I can justify the price because of how fresh and delicious the fish itself tastes. 10/10 There is very little seating outside though, so it's better to eat for takeout or just in the car. Ono? More like O-yes! I love this spot! I had to convince my wife to come here twice because it's so damn good. I went with the spicy ahi and wasabi ahi over brown rice. First timer here trying Ono's! Drove past the establishment the last time I visited but finally got around to it today. Parking is also tight and you might have to drive around the block or find street parking elsewhere. Growing up, I usually defaulted to Foodland poke but it doesn't hurt to try a new spot every once in a while. I purchased a couple different ones to share for a well-deserved beach session. I picked up the miso tuna, spicy tuna, spicy tako, and hawaiian poke. I also grabbed some cucumber kimchee and taegu as well. The favorites were the miso, hawaiian, spicy tako, and the taegu. The classic hawaiian poke was devoured and you can't really go wrong with a little bit of limu, sesame oil , and green onion. The miso has an interesting flavor, I can't really describe it but there seems to be citrus or yuzu in it. The spicy tako also was very flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it. I will say it can get a little pricy. I bought four half pounds, kimchee, taegu, and a poke bowl with four drinks and it rounded up to a little over a hundred. But, the poke is definitely fresh and you can tell they use good quality fish so I think it's worth trying if you want to splurge! read more

giving 3/5 stars since the price point and portions do not quite hit the mark, and my wasabi ahi was wayyyyy too overpowering that it was a bit unpleasant to eat. but truly - i spent my first few days of my oahu visit eating the wasabi salmon from foodland (which is honestly a 5/5 experience every single time). so i think im feeling a bit of comparison bias here. however, ono is a small business, and the ahi did taste very fresh. they even have a small parking lot out front which is so nice to see in oahu. id say try all the poke spots on the island, and definitely make ono a stop. service is fast, the place itself is small since its a take out spot. they do have benches out front!! read more

This is definitely a hole in the wall but its been there for around 30 years! Definitely not a bad walk (~30-40 min) from downtown Waikiki and worth it to build up an appetite. The service is great and efficient. We got two "poke bowls" which came with a base of white or brown rice and up to two fish options and a small drink. The toppings are extra. I thought this place was ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't mind blowing. We decided to visit here since it had a lot of reviews. I did think their portions were good for the price but it could also b because they give you a lot of rice. The rice was not fully cooked thru. There was a lot of hard pieces. I tired spicy salmon, spicy ahi, Hawaiian ahi and shoyu ahi. The spicy salmon was ok. Id prolly stick to just ahi next time. Added ginger for an extra cost. Over all I'm not sure if I would come back since there are a lot of other poke places to try in Honolulu read more

Delicious poke and the most flavorful out of all the places I tried. The Hawaiian and miso ahi were very good, and I enjoyed the spicy tako as well. The menu is not very clear but easy enough to order. The outside only has seating for maybe 3-4 small groups. Not a big issue but make sure you plan ahead as it is a 15-min walk from the popular areas and doesn't have much (other than fast food restaurants) nearby. read more

FOOD: I ordered the Miso poke and HOLY COW the flavor was out of this world. The fish was sooo fresh and the rice topped off the dish. I would have ate this everyday if I could have. Ono's is always on our list of places to visit for poke whenever we visit Oahu. This place never fails when we're craving delicious, fresh poke. It's a small trek from Waikiki and located in a tiny strip mall. There isn't a lot of space for parking so be cautious if you have a rental car. The shop is small with a a couple fridges to grab a beverage or side dishes before you order at the counter. They have a great selection of poke to choose from. I ordered the Poke Bowl with half Spicy Ahi and Hawaiian Style Ahi. Both were so delicious! The Spicy Ahi is not spicy at all. If you like Japanese mayo with a little kick this is what you want. The Hawaiian Style Ahi is your classic tuna poke flavored with Sesame oil. My friend ordered the Shoyu Ahi and it was also so good! If you want something with more flavor, I'd recommend the Shoyu one over Hawaiian Style as it was more mild in flavor. I'll definitely be getting the Shoyu one next time I visit. Service was fast, friendly, and easy. There is a small outdoor dining area to sit and enjoy your meal. There are two picnic tables and a few counter seats. They will fill up fast so I wouldn't count on always finding a seat when you visit. We saw a few chickens while we were eating which was a plus for me! read more

One combo bowls: Shoyu ahi (#1) and spicy tako (#9) Most popular flavors are spicy shoyu and miso! I enjoyed the spicy sauce more than the shoyu. No indoor seating; limited outdoor seating This place is really good, but considering the prices and portion sizes, I would prefer other alternatives. read more

We had salmon and ahi tuna poke--was fresh and delicious, no complaints there. The order came with a soda, which was a nice bonus. The ambiance was okay. The service was friendly and helpful, making the pickup process smooth and easy. However, the portion sizes were quite small for the price, especially considering how expensive it was. While the quality was great, I expected more value for what we paid. If you're looking for fresh seafood, it's worth trying, but be prepared for the higher price tag and smaller portions. read more

Price had gone up significantly from our last visit a few years back but still very reasonable. Place is small and parking is difficult. All seating which there isn't much is outside. One of the best poke I ever had.. I would recommend you to have this on the top 5 of your list. I would recommend to avoid rush hour or else you will be standing outside until there is room inside. The poke seasonings/marinade amplify the freshness of the fish and I love how you can buy additional items on the side (by the 1/4lbs). I would recommend getting the ahi in your poke combo and get the octopus on the side. (Price per lb for ahi is more expensive than the octopus). There is only a few seating area and the parking lot is horrible because it is shared with an apartment complex. So I would recommend either walking/biking/ubering to Ono Seafood so you can avoid the hassle of parking. read more

Ono Seafoods! I have been waiting all day for this review. Now it's hard to mess up Poke for me on the count of I can eat fish all day everyday. Ono Seafoods easily ranks within my top 3 places of getting Poke on the island of Oahu. The savory Shoyu they put over the rice on your Poke bowl puts it over the top. The fish is always fresh (trust me, I know fresh fish) and it's seasoned just right. The Poke is not overwhelmed with sauce like many other places but it's just enough seasoning and sauce to complement the fish. If you go during lunch time expect to stand in line but it's worth every second. My only issue here is portion size but then again I'm a braddah who can eat so the poke bowl is just a snack for me. I usually go with the two choice bowl and the side of Kim chee cucumbers and that usually satisfies me. If your going to Onos your going for quality not quantity, if you want quantity take your okole to Foodland where it's all about quantity lol. But if it's fresh fish you crave then Onos is your place. Parking is a issue but I usually just pretend I can't read and park in the bank parking or the Jiu-Jitsu guys parking. read more

If you're looking for a poke spot in Honolulu, Ono Seafood might be on your list, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but there are other places that are just as good, if not better, and with shorter lines. The spicy ahi and tako that I got were definitely tasty, but nothing too extraordinary. That being said, it's still worth checking out, especially if you're a poke lover like myself. The portions are generous and the quality of the fish is top notch. The service was quick and friendly, and they have a decent selection of toppings and sauces to choose from. One downside is the price - it's definitely on the higher end for poke. But if you're willing to splurge a little for quality fish, it's worth it. Plus, the location is convenient if you're in the area, and they have a few tables outside if you want to enjoy your poke on the spot. Overall, I'd give Ono Seafood a solid 4 stars. Hole in the wall place next to a bank and jiujitsu place. 2 and a half wooden picnic tables outside for you to sit and eat the delicious poke. Spicy, miso and the tako poke are our faves! Get the super size and you can also half and half to try a couple flavors. So many imitation poke places popping up everywhere even off the island...no one does it like Ono's They arent open on tuesdays which is a sad day for us when we are on oahu cause we could eat poke everyday! Price is very inexpensive and if you get the super, you get a drink. They sell pickled items and kimchees and some seaweed salad. The cucumber kimchee wasnt korean style but I totally forgive them.
