I was met with dismissive and disrespectful attitudes from multiple employees who seemed unable or unwilling to help locate the key needed to unlock the item. Rather than providing basic customer service, the interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and simply RUDE. The employees I interacted with included a woman with long, curly black hair and several male employees who were unable to resolve the issue. A simple request for assistance turned into a very negative customer experience. First, they get a star for being the only locally owned pharmacy near me. There's simply no way I'm going to target or walgreeens, so Horsnyder's is where I'm at, like it or not. I'll give another star because the pharmacist personally intervened in my case and helped make sure I would be able to get my doses on time. I still think this special treatment shouldn't be necessary and recognize it's not the same service others are getting. The thing that really makes me mad is the way they invalidate prescriptions after 1 year with no warning whatsoever. It doesn't matter if your bottle reads "10 of 12 refills remaining," if the prescription is more than a year old they will cancel it and not tell you. When I complained about this, they told me I should track it on my end and simply note when I make my annual doctor visit. I feel a good pharmacy would track that themselves, and warn you that a prescription renewal was imminent so that you don't miss doses. In many ways I feel this is a pharmacy not well set up for sick people. I don't go to the doctor annually; I'm constantly in and out of there. I have 4 prescriptions at Horsnyders that I need to constantly babysit to make sure they don't run out or expire. It still feels like I'm having to put in way too much work to be one of their customers. Please, Horsnyders, figure out how to track when these prescriptions are expiring so that your sick patients are not missing doses.

I was introduced to Frank's because of a specific medication that was out of stock at my usually store, and I had to call around for hours to find a pharmacy that carried it. The last store hadn't told me they were out of stock, but instead told me there would be a delay and told me my important Rx was out of stock on the day it was supposed to be ready. By the time I found Frank's, I was anxious and frustrated, so it was a breath of fresh air to be met with a kind and helpful voice on the other end of the call. Frank's Pharmacy also has lots of cute gift items too, so it is a nice place to walk into.

Jason is always cheerful and super efficient. I do have to say there is pharmacist that really spoils the experience at Frank's and her name is Hanna. Hanna is never helpful, and many times is a real pain. Recently I asked her to help me prepare for an upcoming trip and gave her my meds list. The next day I called her back to check how my request was coming along. She told me my insurance was not likely to authorize my vacation order until the last minute. Not wanting to cut it close, I asked her to tell me how much the cost would be so I could just pay out of pocket. She was too busy to help, and if you can believe it, actually said, "Don't call us, we'll call you." And then true to form she never called me back. Without Hanna, Franks would be a solid 5 star Yelp. There is a happy ending to my story thanks to Jason. I called days later and talked to pharmacist Jason. He was happy to help. As always. Jaqui, the pharmacist, has always treated me like I'm her number one customer. Her kindness, compassion, patience, and genuine care have meant so much to me that I actually followed her from her Safeway pharmacy in Santa Cruz to Aptos--even though it adds a commute for me. I made that choice simply because of the incredible kindness and care she and her team have always shown me. In today's healthcare system, getting prescriptions filled can be an incredibly frustrating and complicated experience. There are so many hurdles, delays, and hassles, and sometimes it feels like the system makes something as basic as getting the medications you need far more difficult than it should be. That's why having people like Jaqui and her team makes such a tremendous difference. They have consistently treated me with respect, warmth, and compassion. Well, I've reported her to the CA State Licensing Board for her violation! Here's what happened: I was at register to pick up my medication when the cashier said insurance is denied. While she was trying again, I called the insurance company. The cashier kindly wrote down info she needed and provided me a pen to write info down. She asked me to step aside and point to counter and end (two registers), so I did and another women (whose info I exchanged in the parking lot), walked up to the register while I'm at the other side/register listening to prompts from ins recording on phone. All of a sudden, Jacqui Hernandez hollers infront of EVERYONE: "Go down there, or go sit over there!! YOU'RE an RN so you should know about HIPAA!!!" I was shocked! The lady was shocked. I immediately sat down, getting info from insurance company on phone. This Jacqui person (manager) not only was she completely rude, clearly stressed-out, mean..... she absolutely, unequivocally VIOLATED MY HIPAA rights by announcing that I am an RN, while I'm at a pharmacy, picking up my medications, no matter what my meds are! My personal "whoever I am" is private information that identifies me and she completely violated my HIPAA right!!! I will be moving toward disciplinary action. I have made complaint to: customer.support@albertsons.com.... (Letters are always best so please anybody, if you need to complain about mean Jacqui Hernandez, sent an email.
