Dr. Shaw does an excellent job at fitting me to contacts and I've had the least amount of problems in the over 15 years , I've been going to see him. Horribly experience trying to schedule an appointment. Had to spend an hour on the phone with a rude and short-tempered receptionist could not find my husband in the VSP system and insisted on having his social either full or the last digits. Even with that she could not find him in the system. Eventually, after an hour and us looking up the VSP member number she finally found him and scheduled the appointment. Then a day before the appointment Annette called, rudely stating she could not find my husband in the system and wanting his information all over again. I cannot believe this outfit. I canceled the appointment and called Insight Eyecare in Scotts Valley. They found my husband in the VSP system with just his birthday, didn't even ask for the member number, nor the social, and scheduled my appointment within 5 minutes. I have not had comfortable frames for my glasses since the last ones I got here. Luckily Claire was able to find similar ones for me.

Annette and Claire saved me today by fixing my glasses after I sat on them. we were leaving on vacation the following day and I was desperate. They both couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Claire had a problem with the filament that secures the lenses in so made me a pair from some frames she had for nothing. She said if you're able to get a jeweler to fix the filament issue bring them back and she'd put the lenses back in. Fortunately my husband was able to remove the stuck piece of filament and I returned with the frames and she replaced the lenses. No charge was made even though I offered. I have been going to see Dr. Shaw for my own care for many years as well as my husband and parents. It's a family thang lol. So when it came time for my own children to be examined it felt natural to bring them here. Hunt and Shaw are a married couple who have been in business for years. I was unaware that Dr. Shaw mainly felt w the children patients. May I say she is a genius. I have to very much so boys and not sissy ones at that one being 7 and the other 5. A little willful and wild. She examined both with grace and know how and was so wonderful. I'm so glad we are there eye patients. I'd recommend any day for those with children or older parents too. My mother just passed and they were exceptionally good to her as well while we were coming in and out with her needs as well. Amen for good local people. read more

This is an outstanding business on all fronts in my experience. If possible I could give higher than 5 stars. My family has entrusted our eye care to them for decades now-- I can't speak highly enough of their expertise, care, customer service orientation, ingenuity and focus on quality. And they have maintained these high standards for years and years and during covid too. Everyone in the business will do whatever is needed to accommodate their clients too--I used to take my mom in for eye checks. She used a wheelchair and had very limited mobility and the doctor and staff made her very comfortable and adjusted to meet her needs. Both Dr. Shaw and Dr. Hunt are terrific--I go to either. They will take the time to listen, and to educate you--that is invaluable. Claire is a genius and will help you to find the frames that work for you and your lifestyle.
