I truly enjoy their coffees, muffins, breakfast selection and their delightful sandwiches. I am in love with their chicken salad with arugula and sliced tomato on ciabatta bread. It is heavenly. I used to order from here all the time, as they had an excellent Lox bagel. Not sure what happened but in past 12 months the food and service are lacking for a lack of a better word. This is going to be en episode of What I Ordered vs. What I Got. I ordered a "one liter of peach nectar" for $8 but what I got was 1 can of 250 ml instead. One liter is 1000 ml, so by doing a very easy quick math would I say that I received quarter a of juice promised. This is not the 1st time by the way. I thought they made a mistake last time I ordered the juice. False advertisement in its finest! Also please take a look at Greek Salad as advertised vs what I got. Pastirma brought me here but there was no evidence of this component of the Yummy Sandwich. The pickles and sauce provided good texture and I liked the bread. Delivery was quick. I had better luck a few months ago with the Sunflower Sandwich. (Updating after owner's response: I ordered this theoretically existing sandwich on Uber Eats. When I ordered it, pastirma was listed. Ordered delivery from here today for my boyfriend and I. I ordered a latte with almond milk, a macchiato with almond milk, tuna sandwich, and smoked salmon everything bagel. The latte and macchiato both spilled in transit. Thankfully in a carry tray separate from the food. They also tasted the exact same and not a strong flavor. Seems watered down. We wouldn't get them again. $3.92 for the macchiato and $4.60 for the latte. They arrived hot. The tuna sandwich was okay. Fresh veggies. My boyfriend wasn't a fan because there is no mayo in the tuna salad. I also saw a photo of it with a spinach wrap on seamless and we got it in a white wrap. Idk. A bit pricey at $9.10. It's not that big. Wouldn't get it again. Not sure if it was supposed to be warm but it wasn't. The smoked salmon everything bagel was also okay. Cream cheese was cold, capers throughout, tomato sliced thin which was nice, red onion, and smoked salmon was a decent amount. The everything bagel was thin though and underwhelming. Would have been nice if the bagel was toasted and warm with the cold salmon and cream cheese. Also high at $9.42. We may try something else from the menu another time. We'll see! read more

This was a tiny local cafe near my brother's apartment where we stopped by to grab some breakfast. We ordered some breakfast bagels and a coffee, and also took away some baklava. The location is fairly small, so rather than waiting we just took a walk around the block - our food was ready right when we came back. The bagels definitely hit the spot and were fresh, hot and delicious. The coffee was hot and fresh, but tasted okay. Not bad for a quick cup of coffee! We'll be back again. read more

Charming and efficient local café with friendly service. First time visit today - after a Yelp search - because we were missing the BEC sandwiches in our former neighborhood. Really glad to find One Two Cup Café. The bacon (turkey), egg, and cheese on a croissant was excellent. The iced coffee was also good. I called in the order and it was ready in 10 minutes and well packaged for takeout. The only reason there is no photo with this review is that we were so hungry that we ate before snapping a picture! We will definitely go back for more breakfasts and likely try out the rotisserie chicken (to go) in the future. read more

Discovered this small cafe several months ago and have been a fan. I usually get an egg and cheese on a bagel (with scallion cream cheese, salt, pepper & ketchup). It hits the spot every single time. I've tried their coffee and pastries, wasn't too big a fan on that. However, it is on my favorite list for a quick breakfast. They get really busy on weekends, and wait time is much longer so I recommend calling your order in beforehand. read more

Would not recommend this place. Ordered iced americanos, bagel with bacon egg cheese and bagel with scallion cream cheese. Iced americanos were definitely just iced coffees (without ice) and tasted burnt. He got our bagel order wrong and used plain cream cheese and barely any at that. BEC was soggy as well. Not sure if this is because they're under staffed (only one person was working) but even so they shouldn't sacrifice quality. Was our first time there and definitely will not be going back. Plenty of better places in the neighborhood or just make it yourself at home... even grocery store bagels would probably taste better. read more

Thinking Cup is a great Paulus Hook addition. On any morning the bagels will be tasty (not made in-house) with a wide variety of options. The two-man operation can be a bit slow but the food is always great. I've had both breakfast and the roasted chicken on several occasions and always enjoyed the meal. I preface this review with this: my boyfriend and I have gone for coffee dates every weekend since last autumn, trying out a new place in JC every time. We tried to keep the same order each time - one cold brew (or iced coffee, if unavailable), one chai latte, and a savory little something to snack on. Thinking Cup Cafe, for me, was just average - the iced coffee my boyfriend got was OK, the bagel was... actually surprisingly very good, but my Chai Latte was the worst I've had to date. I'm not saying I need my chai to be sweet (quite the contrary), but this one just lacked sweetness altogether. It's like they forgot a key ingredient. One other note (unrelated to taste) - there's a $7 minimum to use credit cards. Which isn't really a problem if you come as a pair (as we tend to), but may be worthwhile to mention to those that swing by solo on the weekend. You'll have to commit to coffee and a sandwich - a pastry or bagel won't get you to the minimum. read more

"Two Aprons" is back and how :) With a prettier decor and more seating, this place probably has everything the previous version didn't while still retaining the old charm. The breakfast and lunch menus still have a number of vegetarian options [My favorite being the cream cheese bagel with scallions and black olives] along with the mozzarella sandwich. Other pleasant additions to the menu include cheesecakes, baklavas and more. One of the many things I love about this place is the ability to give them a call and place an order and then pick it up while getting to work which potentially saves everyone the time The folks who run this place are still as nice as ever. This is a lovely little cafe in the Jersey City waterfront area - I went to the cafe while visiting a friend who lives in the area. There is limited seating inside, but the decor is very nice and inviting. I had the Tasty Sandwich (chicken, makdous, lettuce, tomato) which came with a small salad, and a portion of the firni, an Afghan dessert which was creamy and not too sweet. Everything was fresh and quickly prepared. The customer service was cheery and helpful - they steered me in the right direction as I took some time to make my choice. Love this spot! In my opinion, the best coffee in Paulus Hook, plus their selection of high quality pastries (muffins, croissants, almond triangles (my favourite!)) is worth a pop in. I have also had their bagels, breakfast wraps, and lunchtime sandwiches. An emphatic thumbs up for all of these! The freshly squeezed OJ and baklava are also good. The One Two Cup Cafe team are friendly and polite, and in my experience always keen to get your order exactly as you like it. The cafe is small but cozy, there's seating right outside the door for those who come with their dogs and rather not keep them outside alone. Came to this place a few times before. The service was never great but the bagels are pretty good. Today I called and ordered pick up: sesame bagel with lox,egg and avocado. I came in paid 16$ which I think is insane for a bagel, the guy told me they charge $6 for eggs. In what world you charge 6$ to add eggs on a takeout sandwich I don't know. Anyway I paid and took the bagel. I came home and found out that it was all wrong they put onion, cheese tomato that I didn't ask for and no avocado that I actually asked for and the guy on the phone read the order back to me when I called. I had to go all the way back. Gave them the wrong bagel, waited for the new one. No apology, refund or anything complimentary was offered. Have you heard of customer service? You made it wrong, you caused the customer inconvenience, seriously overcharged and didn't offer anything. I think it is unacceptable. Last but not least the avocado on my second sandwich tasted sweet. But I didn't want to deal with that anymore. Mistakes have to be fixed and customer has to be accommodated. Love this cute cafe! Have come here a few times on walks with my baby and they are so friendly and nice. Only thing they need is a ramp for stroller because I usually have to rely on nice stranger to help me up the steep step, or try and lift her on my own and wind up spilling my coffee!
