I've been coming to one thirteen for about 3 years now and it's all you can ask for! Great food and drinks for a girls night out or a romantic dinner with your man. Dinner is probably my favorite here, but my boyfriend and I came here for a quick anniversary brunch yesterday. Hannah was our server and she was super sweet and attentive! We went with friends recently, the service was wonderful $ ambiance very nice. But I tasted the pork chop - it was dry for my taste. I was quite shocked the fish had no side salad or vegetable that came with it for $38. The wine portion seemed to be under provided in the large glass they used. And a larger glass for water should be offered instead of the mini glasses. read more

Salmon was ok, I was not in love. We had the crab cakes and they were really good! My husband had the duck and felt it was over cooked. Service was great, our food came out fast. Ambiance was very casual but also intimate. I loved the look and feel of the restaurant. I just wish I enjoyed my food better. read more

My wife and I went Sunday 9/7 to have lunch. We were greeted and were told that we could sit anywhere outside. There were four guests outside and a handful of tables inside with guests seated. The outside seating area has a good vibe. Comfortable and all around nice. We got water glasses and were told someone would be with us shortly. After 15 minutes of staff walking around us. One person waiting at the hostess stand playing on her phone. Cleaning a table next to us. A staff member seated a couple right next to us and another went to them and began serving them, while we still did not get service. I got up and spoke with the bartender to ask for help. I sat back down and wait. I see the bartender speak to another person and then to another, it was like a game of telephone as they spoke to each other and shot looks at our table. Two staff members in pink stood next to a large machine, I assume cappuccino or espresso machine, while another used the machine for some time. No help was coming. The staff member who originally sat us walked by and asked if anyone was helping us and we told him no. And then he came back and took our order and asked if we needed anything else. After some more time our food came out by some person in a button down shirt, I assume a manager. He brought our food and left. And then after some more time I believe our actual waiter came over and asked if we needed anything and we asked for napkins and that was it. The chorizo was some kind of amalgamation of soggy chips and weird sausage and tomato sauce. Went for a family birthday and we were not too impressed. Had to wait a good 30 minutes even though we had called and made a reservation. The place was cute but health code is apparently not a thing there not only was there a puppy a table near us but always girls walking around with no shoes on. The food was just okay not really worth the price. And our waiter sucked , took forever and multiple asks to get anything. I've reviewed 113 before for dinner and I highly recommend it for that meal. Tried it today for Brunch and I must say that I don't share the same views. I paid 25 dollars for the smallest ribeye ever. It tasted okay, but was also not cooked as ordered. The steak and eyes meal included that desk, eggs, abs country potatoes. The potatoes ended up being literally 3-4 small cubes of potatoes with a few slices of peppers & onions thrown in. I was very disappointed. The Hubby had the French Toast with bacon and a side of grits. The French Toast was good, but the bacon had a weird taste to it and was to me inedible. The grits were not good at all. Honestly, they didn't taste like grits. I will say this, the Manager was super nice, as is the owner when he's at the restaurant. However The saving grace at this brunch was the bartender and the AMAZING MARGARITAS!! OMGOODNESS !! Best margaritas I've had in town!! We had peach and Strawberry. They were to die for!! One Thirteen is an experience that you have to try for yourself. I recommend you reserve yourself a table through Yelp Open table because some nights it can get a bit busy. We tried a little bit of everything. From the alcohol to a few apps, and all the way through to the main courses. Must try items are their specialty drinks and their apps! They do not disappoint. What left us disappointed was the main courses. The honey pecan shrimp are one of the best items that we have had at any restaurant in the Hammond area. They were cooked to perfection and after you try them, you will literally come back to the restaurant for them again and again. (Seriously, how did I ever go without having these before.) The seafood gumbo was different. It had crawfish in it, and it honestly tasted like a crawfish boil. It was great. But it did not taste like gumbo. It tasted better. This is a must try. The loaded baked potato was excellent. It was exactly what you expect from a loaded potato, and it was a large portion, no small potatoes for this place! The mac and cheese was great, it had flavor and tasted fresh. The margherita flatbread was not my favorite, but it was for my child, and she was fine with it, and without having a children's menu, there was not any other option. (I see on the website that there in fact IS a children's menu, but none were offered to us, so that is a big disappointment to us and to our kiddo.) We also had the Cauliflower steak and it was absolutely delightful. It would be a good option for vegetarians, and it is a literal entire head of cauliflower. Now, onto the main entrees. I myself ordered the hawaiian ribeye steak, which I am going to admit, I was really disappointed it. Not for the steak itself, because the portion and the tenderness of the meat was great. Without the hawaiian part, it would have been superb. But the restaurant were out of pineapples, and apparently what makes the ribeye hawaiian is that they marinate and drown it in teriyaki and throw on a few grilled pineapples and call that a hawaiian steak. But to be honest, the steak was so juicy and tender that they could have rolled it in dirt and I would have ate it. It is just that good of a portion of meat. Next time, I will order it without the hawaiian and get it plain. Still, worth it. My wife had the surf and turf and the portions were beyond amazing. You get an entire lobster tail (trust me, it was huge) and a steak. Now, the steak she ordered medium well and she got medium rare, so that was a bit of a disappointment, but my wife is the kind of woman where she is happy with great food and she ate it happily. We also ordered a few drinks from the bar and let me tell you, the passion fruit drink is one of the best that I have ever had. Now onto my favorite part, the service! As a Food & Beverage Manager one of the best things that can happen at dinner is having a great server, and we were very lucky to have someone who was amazing! Her name was Carly, and she was extremely informative with the menu! She made great suggestions, asked questions and generally wanted us to have a great night. She gets a 5 out of 5 stars for me and I have never given a server that rating. All together, even with the few issues, this place still gets a 4 out of 5 stars from me! The atmosphere was an experience, and the service is top notch. The food is fresh, and the quality is something that has been missing in most restaurants in Hammond. Visiting from out of town for Thanksgiving and this restaurant was highly recommended. It has a really fun, high energy but classy vibe as soon as you enter. Plenty of outdoor seating with heat lamps although it was a cold night. They were packed on a Tuesday night. We arrived early and started with cocktails at the bar. I had an old fashion and my wife had one of their specialty cocktails. Both were on point with the right balance of flavor and alcohol. So many places over sweeten their drinks. Appetizers: Highly recommend the crab cakes. It was almost ALL blue crab! None of that filler stuff with bread crumbs. Loved the gumbo. It's all about the rue and the depth of flavor. Get ready, it's got some heat and a bite at the end in the back of your throat just the way I like it. We also ordered the Arinci. Think of it as fried risotto balls in marinara sauce. Just order it. We'll be back for it again. Entree: I was in the mood for prime rib. The server came with a box for us to choose my own steak knife. Nice touch however the prime rib was so tender and i could have used a butter knife to cut through it. My wife had the red fish special. Nice sear but still flakey and tender inside. It included sides of roasted brussel sprouts and fried rice. Dessert:. Sorry but we ate all of our entrees and didn't have room for dessert. We saw many tables with creme brulee and cheese cake though. They had a vast wine list however there was something for every price point. Our server was very attentive even though it was a busy night. As the restaurant started to wind down we started to chat it up with someone and he gave us the history of the restaurant as well as the theme for the menu. It was only later that we realized he was the owner of the restaurant. They plan on bringing new recipes based on the season and give the kitchen staff free will to introduce new items with their wood fire grill and also a brick pizza oven. Looking forward to trying the other items in the future. It was a great date night for us where we left the kid at home however we saw many other tables with kids so it's also family friendly. Yummy New Year's Eve meal. It's hard for many restaurants to prepare bbq shrimp properly but one thirteen nailed. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the grits were the perfect texture. THE VIBE! I think the Vibe of One Thirteen made for the start of an outstanding evening! We were greeted by a welcoming staff as we entered the restaurant on a busy Friday evening. (Btw, you enter thru the walkway on the deck!) We had made reservations a few days before and were greeted with a great smile as the hostess walked us to our table. I would describe the decor as mid century modern - a lot of posts, beams, glass and an open, warm atmosphere. Check out the bathrooms with Elvis, James Dean and Marilyn! You could see the open kitchen from our table and you could see the open kitchen from most of the dining room. Hot homemade bread arrived quickly from the chefs baking bread in their beautiful ceramic oven. The smell was divine! The bread was very hot to the touch and delicious. We (four of us) started with the cocktail menu (had to have something with all that bread!) I absolutely recommend the Palermo Margarita. It was served in a somewhat martini style glass. (by the way, I loved their glassware/dishes - very unique) Homemade sugar water so, of course, I had to stop at one! It was smooth and delicious. For appetizers we ordered the roasted artichoke and the smoked salmon dip. The artichokes were very different! I will look this up on YouTube and try it. Not sure that I could imitate the flavor but it was great app to split between two couples. The guys raved about the smoke salmon dip with crustinis. I was stuck on artichokes :) Entrees consisted of New York Strip (purrrfect), rib eye (it was Blackened - amazing flavor and, yet, med rare, a HUGE pork chop (like 3 inches thick!) and prime rib (not sure of the name of this dish). The prime rib was a little fatty as it usually is anyway but no complaints on flavor! All dishes came with either baked/sweet/scoop of potato and a veggie. My Strip had asparagus for the veggie.I think the asparagus was cooked over the grill rather than steamed. OH! A great part of the presentation was a tin of Chef & Sommelier steak knives brought to the table by the server and you had the opportunity to choose your own gorgeous steak knife! (I actually thought they were giving away cigars at first - lol, I was wrong!) A delightful bottle of grenache/syrah blended wine from Washington state complimented our dishes and we could not have been more pleased. For dessert we treated ourselves to the carrot cake and the raspberry cheesecake. Not sure if these were house made but they finished our meal nicely. We were a little disappointed that the chocolate dessert wasn't available yet but we understand the nuances of a newly opened restaurant and can't wait to try it when it comes! Our server, Bailey (sp?) was very attentive and knew the menu well. Food runners were very pleasant. I would think quite a few of the staff are new to the service industry but the attitudes were always positive and friendly. I think Chef Bryan has a hit on his hands with One Thirteen. I can not recommend one thirteen enough! Tonight was incredible. We celebrated 2 birthdays and it will be a night our entire table will remember forever! From start to finish, Orlando went above and beyond to make our experience a 5 start event. Tae was our server and he literally blew our minds with his service. His recommendations were so enjoyable and his interaction with the table was memorable!! We will be back very soon because of Tae & Orlando. This gem is now our favorite restaurant in town. The picture on their website did not match the dish given. The noodles were actually completely different. I ordered a steak and it was cooked to par. Hello all. I've got a great story for you. Be sure you read to the end. Enjoy... Last night, I went to dinner at One Thirteen restaurant in Hammond, LA. Had a reservation for 730 and was seated promptly. We ordered a couple glasses of wine, were asked if we'd like some bread (yes please...delicious) and ordered salads. The salads took about 25 minutes to come out, but we were enjoying a beautiful evening and the conversation was flowing, so no worries. Here's where things get interesting. Once the salads were brought to the table, we placed our entre' orders. Waiter took the orders...still no issues. However, 20 minutes later, the waiter returns to the table informing us that the entrées would take at least 45 more minutes before they would be ready as the kitchen was slammed. Mind you, we had already been seated for about an hour, so if there was going to be a lengthy delay, knowing that much earlier in the evening would have been helpful, so we could have placed our entre orders sooner. Not wanting to wait 45+ more minutes for our meals to be prepared, we declined and asked for the check. By the way, through all of this the young waiter (his name was Jonah) was professional, personable and obviously felt very bad about the situation. None of this was his fault at all. So, the waiter brings the check and we sit there for about 20 more minutes conversing before preparing to depart. Just as we were getting ready to leave, the owner/manager (Orlando Rodriguez) comes to the table with our meals and sets them in front of us with apologies. He then returns with a bottle of wine, which he personally opens and pours. I thank him and ask him to please amend the check (which was already delivered to the table without the entres), to include the meals. He then picks up the check and informs me that everything for the evening would be comped, on the house. That was completely unnecessary, but truly appreciated. So, we enjoyed our meals (delicious), enjoyed the wine (delicious) and left the waiter a $50 tip as we left. On a personal note...I work as a healthcare executive. Customer service is extremely important in the work we do. I am constantly using personal customer service experiences (good and not so good) into the cultural lessons for my team/organization. So...you can bet I'll be sharing this story with my team as an example of how going above and beyond for our customers can make all the difference in how we differentiate ourselves from our competitors. Further, Restaurant One Thirteen just became my favorite Northshore restaurant and you can bet I will refer others and will personally be back many more times in the future. We went downtown Hammond to try another new location but they had 30-minute wait so we decided to try the One Thirteen. Very pleased with our decision. It was a beautiful night with very pleasant weather for dining outside. My wife had the Prime Rib Flatbread and I had the Hawaiian Pork Chop. Both entrees were very good and so were the drinks. Wife had Lemon Drop Martinis and I had their Old Fashions. Kind of pricey for the drinks, but they were very good, so I guess you get what you pay for. Overall a very good location with excellent food choices. The pork chop is huge, not sure the picture shows the thickness and size of it. We will be back to explore other entrees and drinks. read more
