However, I would like to share my experience regarding other aspects of their service. I sent two suits, each with its own suit bag. When I scheduled the return delivery through Uber, I saw the pickup photo and noticed that one of my suit bags appeared to be missing. I called Star Laundry Club to ask about it, and my concern was initially somewhat dismissed, which was fair since I had not yet received the delivery yet (maybe the photo was wrong). However, when the Uber arrived, I confirmed that one of the bags was indeed missing. I called again, and they did find the missing bag. I was initially told that a staff member would deliver it on the same day as my call, but I did not receive it that day. When I followed up the next day, they apologized and was instead asked if I could pick it up myself. I politely explained that I did not think it was reasonable for me to make a separate trip to retrieve an item that should have been included in the original delivery, particularly when I had already tipped the driver. I believe the inconvenience of correcting this mistake should not fall on the customer. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for the suit bag to be returned. Called again for an update, but my call was not picked up. I appreciate the quality of the dry cleaning itself, but I hope the missing item issue can be resolved soon.

There was one pair of pants that didn't have any material in the rear waist for alterations but Lee, expertly, took what material available in the leg hem -- allowing me more wearable life on this suit. Last winter, I'd brought in a cherished sweater with a moth hole, only to see the hole become invisible on return, to my amazement. She had not promised magic, in fact was cautious when she saw the hole, but she worked hard to create magic. I have been extremely pleased and relieved to have someone as reliable as Lee's in the neighborhood. And even if it weren't in the neighborhood, I'd probably make the effort to go there - over the advertised and promoted cleaners all around.

Well, the sewing job was done well, however, she refuses to cut off as much as I wanted. She only cut off about two inches and then turned it up and hemmed it. I'm going to need to take it to someone else to redo it now. She is so ridiculously obstinate and controlling that she is unreliable like that. I like to support independent businesses instead of chains if prices are fair, so Stavros it was. $12 for long dresses. Minimum credit card charge is $20. Stavros seems to be THE hangout spot for Brookline police. For years I've passed by seeing a group congregate here in the evening chatting away. I didn't catch his name, but the African American gentleman who attended me was nice and accommodating. When I walked in, he was chatting with a police officer who was turning in some clothes. They were talking about how Stavros wasn't that hot inside despite the mid 80's weather, to which the gentleman turned to me and asked how I felt and whether I agreed. It was a nice feeling to be included in their small talk. Having dropped the dress at 4pm, I was wondering the earliest I could pick up the next day. I preferred 7am when they open, but he said 10am. I then asked if it was fine if I picked it up next month as I'd be out of Boston and couldn't make it at 10. Surprisingly, I got the okay to leave it there for 2 weeks. He then had a contemplative look suggesting he could possibly have it ready before 10, but I assured him I was in no rush and next month was fine with me. "Okay, Okay" he replied with a smile. The washers are 3.75 for small/medium load, 7.00 for the big washer that can do comforters. Extra .25 to do an extra rinse. The dryers are all large and are .25 for every 5 minutes (I think but they didn't actually have it posted). Went in July and it was GROSSLY warm, no AC which was expected but also no fans or ventilation at all. Otherwise it was easy to use, not busy, and they had a quarter machine. Quarter machine only used cash, no cards. No staff in the laundromat, but there's staff in the dry cleaner next door (I think they're owned by the same people?) Overall take is that if there was another option nearby, I would probably try the other option...but this laundromat is directly below my apartment so catch me there every weekend!

I have used their dry cleaning service numerous times in the last 12 months. No problems…read morewhatsoever. The turnaround on a Saturday drop off may be Tuesday or Weds. If that's not fast enough for you, find another dry cleaner. Yes, their service is performed off site at another location, hence the delay in returning your items. One thing I like very much is they are open on Saturday until 7 pm and all day Sunday (because they also offer washer/dryer for do-it-yourself or laundry service). It's incredibly convenient to be able to drop off or pick up laundry or/and dry cleaning on both weekends days. And until 7 pm!! If your clothes have been there a while, they actually call or text you to remind you to come pick your clothes up. They prefer payment at drop off, which I prefer, so you can pick up quite easily, no waiting for other customers, etc. The workers are very polite and helpful.

I've never had any issues with damage to my stuff. I had one time a wool sweater was shrank, but that's on me. I didn't mean to throw it in my bag to begin with, and I didn't ask for dry cleaning, just wash and fold, so just be aware of what you're throwing in there. They also ask what kind of detergent you would like.
