Dropped off a pair of white slacks I had only worn once. No stains or marks except the bottom near the heels were dirty because they were slightly too long. They came back with 2-3 brown stains/watermarks on them where nothing had been previously. Nice that the owner re-did them twice for me, but unfortunately only more stains appeared and the pants were ruined. Luckily the company I bought them from replaced them since I had only owned them for 4 weeks. Disappointed and concerned that maybe they are not switching out their cleaning solution often enough. read more

Avoid this place, especially if you have a special occasion like prom or wedding. The customer service is non-existent. Have been going to Coolidge since 2017. I trust them with every day clothing and shoes. They once removed stains on a leather skirt and made it look like new. They cleaned and boxed my wedding gown and cleaned my husbands suit after our wedding. Affordable price and great services. We are moving out of state and will really miss their services. read more

I feel like Coolidge is the very definition of a 3 star review - about average in every way. Not too pricey, pretty ok service. The reviewer that said there is a lack of dry cleaning options in Central hits it on the head - Coolidge wins by default. To be honest though, I am so over the whole plastic clips on the sleeves and paper tag through the bottom button. I feel like to be really worth it, a dry cleaner needs to be really a) fast, b) cheap, or c) good. I used to use these guys more back in the day, when I first moved to the area. Then I had to stop taking things to the cleaners because of money issues. Well my winter rain coat had this funky odor and truth be told I don't think I've ever had it washed for the years I've had it. So time to go to the cleaners. The woman behind the counter was nice, took my information and asked if I was alright with picking it up on Wednesday. The cost was $12 for the jacket which is reasonable. I was just glad they don't charge by the dirtiness of the item. So when I returned next week to pick it up it was pretty quick and I was happy with the results. It says they use eco-friendly cleaning products and there weren't any residual odors on my jacketor any pungent cleaning scents. I was satisfied when I left. read more

I have had a MUCH different experience than Ari here, although I've not used them for alterations before. The guy behind the counter is very friendly - he's even asked what's wrong when I was looking sad or sick. He offers to rush things for me at no extra charge and comments when he liked some of the clothing I've dropped off for dry cleaning. They have late hours (7p) and the prices are reasonable. One of best things about Coolidge is that they can repair sweaters with hand stitching! I had a very expensive Marc Jacobs sweater that fell apart after a party (don't ask). They were able to salvage it in a quality way and had me stylin' again. We don't have a ton of dry cleaner choices around Central Sq. I've been happy with Coolidge every time I've used them. read more

Used them a number of times for higher end (costlier sweaters, shirts suits and dresses for my wife, once or twice for jackets) cleaning as well as alterations (jeans, pants, men suits and shortening of dress). Always satisfied always perfect. Fixed a couple of bad jobs from elsewhere. I always trust them and for special jobs go to them. Unfortunately for me I can only use them once in a while, as the location is not optimal for me and I can only use them when I really need someone I could trust. Great service. read more

I was surprised to read the negative reviews. I've been going here for more than four years and have generally been satisfied. Granted, I only use them for dry cleaning and to have the occasional shirt laundered. Nobody in Cambridge can launder shirts very well (I think they all use the same service ... everyone outsources this) ... the ironing press they use causes the buttons to break and fall apart. Also, I will NEVER use a dry cleaner for alterations ... this is a sure recipe for disaster (I learned this decades ago). So, Ari ... don't be so cheap. If you need alterations, take your clothes to a TAILOR, like Rizzo in Harvard Square ... yeah, he costs more, but he never makes mistakes. So, with those caveats, I've been quite happy with Coolidge Looking Good for dry cleaning. My suits always come back clean and well-pressed, and the service courteous, respectful, and professional. read more

Only been once, with 8 pairs of pants. Took them in on Tuesday, they said they could be done by Friday. When I went to pick them up, the credit card machine was "broken." When I pushed, it was that the girl didn't know how to reload the receipt paper. So I had to go find cash (um, maybe a discount, for making me go hunt for an ATM?). When I got home, I discovered the fabric belt on my pants didn't come back with my pants. Sooooo going back tomorrow. Leaving with either my belt, or a refund on my bill. Their attention to detail in cleaning and repairing and tailoring is excellent. My clothes have always come back in great shape. I'm wondering if the problem with the cashmere sweater was a really bad accident in the cleaning process, and one that I would totally expect them to rectify. Completely Unreliable! I brought in a pair of dress pants that had been torn and asked if they could be repaired. I paid a $14 deposit and was assured that I could pick them up the following Monday. This was perfect for me because I needed to get them back to the person I borrowed them from. Except it turned out to be far from perfect. I went to pick them up on that Monday and the woman behind the counter told me that not only were the pants not ready, but they had not even started on them because she forgot to tell the tailor about them. I showed her my ticket which said that they would be ready on Monday after 5:00pm and asked how this could have happened. She simply said that it happens and sometimes people forget. I told her that excuse was not good enough and that it was completely unacceptable. It turns out that my friend needed them the following morning for an event and I was unable to deliver them because Coolidge Looking Good forgot about them. As I am typing this now, I still do not have the pants. I am incredibly disappointed and I will NEVER go back there again! If you care for your clothes even a little bit, you wont go there either. There are much better options further down on Mass Ave. Choose those options instead! read more

I've been using Coolidge Looking Good for all my dry-cleaning and tailoring for 6 years now, and I must say that they have never failed me. They are always on-time, treat your clothing with care, and will frequently talk you down from the most expensive option into what makes most sense for you. I can remember several occasions where they suggested that I shouldn't even get an item tailored because it was unnecessary. In addition to all this, they have a great option where you can get something cleaned the same day. Not all cleaners have this option. read more

Lying dishonest crooks. I brought my favorite winter jacket here and they returned it without the belt, which is a key piece of my jacket. I called many times and finally one week later they called me back. I went and got the belt to find it was broken in half. That's why they were hiding it from me! Alright so I have been dry cleaning with them for more than a year now and I have never experienced any bad since now. Recently, got a stitching done on my Suit and I was so happy with the outcome. They did a fantastic work, way more than I expected. The finishing and alteration was done so professionally. My boyfriend has been using this place for months. Today I went to drop off his shirts and was refused service for being a woman. "No women's shirts here. We don't do." I tried to tell her that they were men's shirts but she shook her head and said she wouldn't take them. Won't be coming back. read more

This place was bad. I'm surprised someone could mess up a simple dry cleaning, but they did. The two pants I brought there came back with lots of little white dots on them, whatever chemicals they use to clean their clothing I'm guessing. Not hard to get rid of, but annoying to reclean clothes I just paid someone to clean. Also my shirts were WAY overstarched. I had to have them recleaned elsewhere just to get them wearable. They are thieves of the first class. I brought them some Brooks Bros. shirts and asked for "heavy" starch. I got back shirts that looked as if they had been hand washed and ironed - with no evidence of any starch. The black wool jacket bomber jacket I asked them to dryclean? It came back with white dots all over it. When I mentioned this the worker seemed to have lost his English skills.I will NOT use them again and I recommend against anyone taking anything there. read more

I used to go here, but stopped after a few months. All of my clothes (banana republic chinos, button-down shirts, merino wool sweaters) shrank considerably. If you have too big clothes that need shrinking, bring them here - but if your clothes fit fine and you just want them cleaned, bring them somewhere else. read more

Full disclosure: I never had a problem with having clothes cleaned here. But Coolidge Looking Good is looking bad to me right now: I brought custom-made ($$$) slipcovers to them in the fall for seasonal cleaning. When I went to put the covers on my furniture (now that warmer weather is finally here) I discovered to my dismay that they had shrunk considerably, to the point where they no longer fit. At all. Not even a little bit. Completely ruined. Manager (Costa) tried to blame me, saying I stored them improperly over the winter (not true), that it was "a problem with the zipper," (not true), and that I had waited too long to bring the problem to his attention. Blame the victim. He came to my apartment and attempted to put one of the covers on without success, then, incredibly, asked if he could take the chair with him. What?! Absolutely not. He said he would contact his insurance company but has not been back in touch with me. I'm tired of chasing him around. I've filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau and will no longer bring any cleaning to Coolidge Looking Good. read more

The crazy thing is, I even asked when I dropped it off if the dress would be okay, and the owner said "oh, yeah, it's no problem"...then when we got the dress back, he blamed the material of the dress. read more

I bought an Anne Taylor Dress one size too big but it was on sale so I figured I would get it tailored. After searching around I decided to bring it to my dry cleaner who also does alterations. BAD idea. After pinning the dress and establishing what needed to be done, I was told to come back a week later which I did. It was way too small. You could literally see my panty line and the dress rode up on me around the hips. The guy thought it looked fine and asked if I wanted to wear it "to see if it stretches out a little" to which I said absolutely not (it was silk). He then said he would fix it, by letting out the seems a bit. I had to come back ONE WEEK later, meaning that I couldn't wear the dress that I had picked out for graduation TO my graduation! I came back and it was still not right. They didn't let it out enough. I say "they" because apparently they ship this out to someone who does the work, so the communication is obviously lost as the dress travels, and it is quite hard to tailor something if you've never seen it on someone. I tell them again that it is too tight. He asks me why I wanted them to tailor it if all I wanted to do was take out the seems but he must have forgotten our previous conversation in which we agreed NOT to take in anything below the hip area (I have larger hips, so the size I bought was perfect for them). He agreed to redo it, again, and I returned again. On this third week that my dress had been there, they got it dry cleaned instead of getting it hemmed. I was livid. I wanted a refund. The dress was $30 to get altered but he only gave me $19 stating that's what I paid for it. I told him that i paid $30 (which was even what he quoted me when I went in there before signing up for this mess) but he insisted that because I didn't have the receipt that he could only give me what it cost them. SHEESH! On top of it all, while complaining to the woman who worked there, she told me that some garments are just harder than others (wtf) and that one time they "Redid the same pair of jeans SEVEN times!" I was like "WHAT???" I'm not sure who kept going back 7 times for that alteration but that's just ridiculous. Needless to say you can find a FASTER and much more diligent alteration place than this. Dry cleaning is fine (although expensive...I go to the one on Putnam and Magazine now). I've learned better than to spend money on a dry cleaner that does alterations on the side! __________________________________________________ As an update, I went to Jerry's Tailor downtown who told me that the dress was ruined, that there was nothing to be let out because they had just cut away all the fabric. THIS BUSINESS IS UNRELIABLE. I had an experience here that caused me to stop giving this dry cleaners my business. I went in over the weekend to pick up some items I had dropped off a couple of weeks before. My things were not there when I went to pick them up. I offered to wait while the employee working that day called the manager to find out what happened. She said she would have to do it later and wrote down my number, assuring me she would call back to let me know the status either way. I never heard from her. Nobody's perfect, but if clothes at a dry cleaners go missing, at the very least the business should follow up with the customer. One would think that a service business like dry cleaning would make an effort to have better (or any) service. read more

They always clean up my mess. I have a terrible habit of spilling food, grease, chocolate, etc on my work attire. Learning to cook has it's causalities, but KLG always saves the day. I have taken the same gray dress there 3 times with food stains and it always returns in pristine condition. They have removed mystery stains from my cashmere sweaters, deodorant from blouses, and pressed my suit like pros. If you have stains, take them to CLG. The employees are honest about whether your oops is likely to come out so you don't have unrealistic expectations. The prices are affordable, but it does take at least a week to get your clothes back, so don't plan on the same day service that their old sign alludes to. I don't know much about their work with men's clothes, but I am satisfied with their service for women's clothing and am confident that they can rescue my favorite pieces - I'll be back! read more

AVOID! I brought in a brand new white cashmere sweater for dry cleaning, and it came back dingy, covered in gray markings, and had a snagged thread. It went in looking like a pristine Christmas gift and came out looking like it was 10 years old. I paid them to ruin my shirt. Never again. read more

I am the kind of person who should be way better about dry cleaning, but I end up many mornings walking into this place at 8 in the morning in dress clothes and an undershirt, and Costa (sp?) is always able to help me out by giving me one shirt from what I haven't been able to pick up yet. I can't speak to the prices, but Costa is very nice and always happy to get things back quicker if that's what you need. In my experience the sign outside is true, although you have to ask for it. Overall, a very convenient location and a very flexible staff that generally does a pretty good job overall. Keep up the good work! read more
