A wonderful, professional and reliable company for your services! We met with Jose, who gave us a competitive price for our front yard and backyard landscaping & sprinkler plus drip system! They are responsive, even after services have been completed. They provide one year warranty on their grass, assuming you have a sprinkler system. They brought my vision to life based on a rough sketch I drew, literally to the angles of the bender board to where I wanted the succulents planted. Jose and Carlos were able to locate these difficult to find succulents and small white/grey gravel. They are knowledgeable about plants, trees, grass & florals and worked with my budget. Most importantly, they are honest and informative. They even hauled away some of the fencing for our other project! Carlos and the team members care about their quality of work and we couldn't be happier! We love our front and back yard (so do our pups!) and our neighbors have given us so many compliments and asked for their contact! We shopped around and have no regrets! They came by a few weeks after and pruned our fruit trees and now we have healthy and fruitful lemon and orange trees! We can't wait for the avocados & guavas to be in season! read more

TWO NO-SHOWS. POOR COMMUNICATION. MAJOR WASTE OF TIME & TRUST! I have been searching for a licensed contractor since February to cut down all the Tree of Heaven on my yard. This was the first company I met with. After meeting with several others, I accepted their bid. They missed the first appointment in March because it had rained the night before. Fine; I re-booked 3 weeks in advance, hoping to get the job done in the morning. They told me they couldn't give me an exact time until "a day or two prior." Well, they never told me "a day or two prior." I had to ask the morning of the job. It turns out I was scheduled for 1-2pm. I waited and waited, and they didn't come. Around 3:30pm, I got a message that they were "running really behind" on the first job. They offered the following day, and then the following weekend to do the job. No way! ONE DAY TREE SERVICE BLEW IT. They wasted my time and lost my trust. I never felt like I was taken seriously. I have had very unreliable experiences with LA contractors, and this is just another example of why I don't like most of them. read more

Unfortunately, I have to update my review. Since my original review, I have had One Day Tree Service out a couple more times to trim my tall ficus hedges. First, the positive: Oscar, who has done the estimates for the maybe 5 times I've hired them, is super friendly, and his written estimates describe precisely the work we agreed upon. The company is quick to schedule free estimates and the work itself. The invoicing and payment system is clear and easy to use. Now, the negative: The original crew I had on the first few jobs, with Douglas and Johnny, did a wonderful job and were friendly and responsive to my feedback. I understand they are no longer with the company. Since then, the crew assigned to me has been headed by Ivan. Ivan's crew did an ok job the first time but I got some vibes like they didn't really want to be there. I shook it off and hired them again recently. Before they finished, I noticed the back hedge was uneven, higher on one side and sloping down to the other side for a height difference of maybe 1-2 feet. I mentioned to one of the guys on the ground, and he said, no, we cut it even, it's just an illusion. I said, well, it doesn't look even to me, I need you to trim the high side down a bit so it looks even. He got Ivan's attention (who was up on the roof) and discussed. Then they said, well, the reason it is uneven is because if the high side got trimmed down more, it would just look like bare sticks. I said, that's ok, then it'll match the other side! (Which did have a few exposed bare branches at the top but amidst plenty of green). So that didn't feel great--I felt like they tried to lie to me twice (so which is it? The same height and an illusion, or different heights on purpose?) They kind of grudgingly fixed it so it looked ok. I asked them to fix a couple other things, one ficus on the end that was sticking out 6 inches higher, and also to clear the power line more. The estimate was to make the hedge clear the line by 3 feet all around, but they had only cleared it by maybe 3-6 inches. So they cleared it a bit more on my request, not the full 3 feet but more than the few inches. As they left, Ivan said to me, you know, we have 3 more jobs after you today (implying I shouldn't have made them stay to do the job properly). I said, bummer, that sounds like a long day. So I don't know if Ivan feels like customers exist just to make his life difficult, or if the scheduling is too ambitious and squeezes too many jobs into one day, leaving the crews with not enough time to do a good job and make sure the customer is happy. Whichever is the case, I don't think I will be hiring them again (sorry, Oscar!). read more

We had a beautiful birch tree that died during a hot spell. We also had two other healthy trees that were in great need of trimming. One day came out and removed all of the birch including the stump. In addition they did a beautiful job on the tree trimming. Their communication was professional and timely. They were extremely thorough and really cleaned up before they left. They did an excellent job! read more

Jose and Oscar are great! Oscar came for his estimate, within a 1/2 hour after leaving he sent me the estimated price. They showed up the next day did great work, fast, and reliable for the exact amount quoted. One thing though they accidentally hit my water line. They did not know because my water was shut off. The next day I turned my water on and I found out from the geyser shooting water. I let Jose know & he had a plumber sent out within a few hours. Carlos the plumber took care of it fast and Jose took care of the bill (SO AWESOME!) I feel like most services would try and I weasel their way out of paying for that type of thing. Super happy with this service! I was referred to Jose by a good friend. I texted them what I need and they were able to provide me a same day estimate based on photos. They quoted me a very reasonable price to trim my palm trees. Oscar and his crew showed up right on time (even a few minutes early), were super courteous, quick, and efficient. They trimmed my two palm trees and removed all the trimmings so I didn't have to worry about disposing of them. Everything was done within an hour. Highly recommend. read more

I wish I had before and after photos. My yard looks incredible. We let our landscaping get out of control and we needed pros to come scale it back. It was all done in a couple of hours and the crew manager even asked to FaceTime with me to make sure I was happy with everything since I wasn't home. I love the option to pay online too. read more

I would give 10 stars or more for ODTS. They were terrific - fast, professional, reasonably-priced, same day written estimate given based on photos. They came within 24 hours to trim two very dry/dense palm trees. Showed up on time, got right to work, and were done in 2 hours. We live on a very steep lot, trees at the bottom of a long set of stairs, but they got the job done and did it extremely well. Very competitive pricing. We're having them come back in October (once bird nesting season ends) to trim 5 other palms on our property. Paid 50% deposit online, then balance online once job was complete. Really excellent work and a nice crew. I'll come back once I snap some photos and add those in so you can judge their great job for yourself! read more

I HIGHLY recommend this trimming company for big or small jobs -- Yes the five fruit trees grew up and out, causing friendly critters to have a party on our roof and leaving piles of sh*t (airborne bacteria and diseases, some roof damage, etc), the cost of treating the area by the exterminator was well worth it, however, money had to be spent! -- I will definitely hire ONE TREE TRIMMING Company always and forever. Requested a quote for some trees in the yard at our home. They quickly came out and sent an itemized estimate the same day. Scheduled the trim/removal next week. Once the crew was here, they were quick, thorough, and respectful of the house, neighbors, and vehicles. They walked me through everything after it was done and explained how the trees would grow back based on how they cut it. Cleaned up everything well, leaving the yard better than before. The Cadillac of tree service. We had an 80ft pine tree that was destroying our backyard for the past 10 years and we were finally ready to remove it. I had 3 estimates and these guys were right in the middle. I liked the reps that came, they were very professional and didn't seem phased by the GIANT tree. When they showed up for the job, they brought a small army with them. I counted 5 trucks and like 10 guys. They removed the monstrosity carefully and meticulously. Our stump was massive too. It took them one day to remove the tree and another day to remove the stump. They cleaned everything up and I am an extremely happy customer. It was a beautiful tree, but it was destroying my back yard and moving towards my foundation so I had no choice. I said my goodbyes and apologize to the tree, then called the Reapers! These guys are the best, maybe not the cheapest, but it was a fair price and worth every penny. Hire them! read more

I can't say enough good about this crew who came out to cut down 3 rather large palm trees. Oscar and his crew of 8 (!) were fast (2.5 hours total), very professional, listened to my few extra requests, executed the job with a lot of care (not messing up any of the existing landscaping and nearby cameras) and leaving my front yard - and even the sidewalks - in a very clean and undamaged shape. Had a terrible experience. Hired them to trim my tree. They charged me $200 more than the estimate, left brown scratches all over my garage door and driveway that are not coming out, and blew a bunch of debris into my neighbor's yard. Use at your own risk! read more

If you are in need of tree removal this is the company to use. They are prompt professional and does an amazing job! They bring a large enough crew to complete the work in a very timely manner. The clean up after was like the large tree, stumps, bushes were never there to begin with. One Day Tree Service is not trustworthy. When they came out to cut the trees in our building, the supervisor was told to cut the trees so they wouldn't grow back to their current state for at least a year. not even 4 months later and the trees are back to where they were before One Day Tree Service came out. I have left messages for Jose to call me back but he hasn't. the secretary conveyed that they cannot control how much a tree grows. Obviously! But as rhe experts they should know how much of the tree to cut so it doesn't go right back to where it was in 3.5 months. Nobody is paying to cut their tree every 3-4 months. It is supposed to be your expertise to know how much more a less a tree will grow during certain times of year. if a customer asks for something that cannot be delivered that should be explained in advance. We are not discussing a slight growth. within 3 months the tree grew right back to where it was prior to being cut! read more
