I found the arborist to be very helpful. He provided me with all the critical information I needed right away. I fell much better about the health of my trees after his expert advice. When you want the right advice seek an arborist only business like this one not a tree trimming business.

My gardner had set he thought my lemon tree might have a fungus at the base of the tree trunk and some branches. James had me take pictures, evaluated the details on the bark, and told me it is a topical issue that does not need action, only to pull back the turf from the base. His response was fast and did not charge. When I have another issue, James is my man. Thank you.

Ask the Community - Class One Arboriculture

I'm planning to build a 7' x 7' platform for a shed under our mature Italian Stone Pine with vigorous roots. Is there any danger to the tree building the platform out of pressure treated ground contact 2x6 and plywood?

Gary, I just received this message via Yelp. I replied privately to your query via email two days ago. I hope you found my detailed response helpful. Good luck in your project!

Do you treat trees for termites? Do you do assessments to see if the tree can be saved?

As a consulting arborist, I only provide advice, recommendations, and report writing. I do not offer treatment or pruning services. The advantage of hiring a consulting arborist (whether myself or another of my colleagues) is it eliminates the… Read more

I find myself a little more knowledgeable about plants and trees after spending time talking with James.

I asked for severe trimming of an olive (they are quite resilient) and moderate trimming and thinning of our Live Oak in Altadena so as not to overhang on the neighbors and backing them away from the main house for fire mitigation. We are also planning on a new roof and solar installation. Ivo Navarro came on time to meet with me. Very courteous, professional, informative and answered all of my questions. He was very particular about the live oak and ensuring to not harm it in anyway (this is an exceptionally old and large Coastal Live Oak). It is very evident that he cares about trees and wants to ensure the trimming leaves the trees healthy and with a natural look. The crew arrived on time. They all had their safety equipment on. They were very careful to ensure your property is protected by removing (and later replacing) things on the walls, potted plants, patio furniture as well as protecting the chicken coop! Then they placed boards against the nearby windows to protect them. The crew used manly manual tools (which I like - so did the dog and the neighbors) and did use a chainsaw a few times for bigger limbs. There were a total of five men (including Ivo) and ALL were professional, courteous and seemed like happy employees. The end result WAS AMAZING! Natural looking oak and a trimmed up reduced olive. EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! Oh! And the crew was amazing cleaning up the neighbors yards as well - like REALLY AMAZING job. No casualties in any of the yards!!! Gotta appreciate that!
