Phil was easy to communicate with and was able to come by quite quickly after a very large tree of mine started dropping large branches on my and my neighbor's property. This company came to my rescue! My cockatoo got out and flew into a tree. She was at the very tallest height of the tree about 60 feet up. None of my ideas were fruitful. Until I reached out to Phil. We have four large trees on our property that have grown rapidly over the past 20 years. We have had all of them trimmed annually, using three different tree services. I always asked them not to over - trim them but they always did. The problem is that it causes the trees to grow too aggressively. So, this year we decided to call Phil and Sons, on the advice of a certified Arborist. As it turns out, the owner, Phil, is also a certified arborist. We have an oak tree that belongs to our neighbor but the bulk of the growth hangs on our property. We recently had a new lawn placed in our backyard and the tree was preventing it from getting enough sun. Our neighbor agreed to split the cost to trim the tree. I had a very heavy, tall city tree removed from in front of my house because it was dead and I feared it might fall before the city got around to removing it. I called around and Phil gave me an excellent price. The 3 men on the team were highly skilled. It was like watching a Cirque Soleil high wire act as they expertly sawed the branches in the exact places that would cause them to fall safely into a rather small designated space between the sidewalk and the street. Phil and sons did a great job with our trees at a good price. We got a quote from another company that was almost two times more than Phil's. Phil came recommended to us by a certified arborist so we trusted him. They removed a dead sycamore and ground down and removed the trunk. They trimmed another sycamore that was getting top heavy and removed one more sycamore branch that was interfering with electrical wires. When we have the funds, we will use them to install a bracing pole for our oak tree that's leaning a bit. The guys were nice and efficient and got the job done in a timely manner. After all these storms, I got worried about several tall 100+ foot pine and cedar trees in the front yard. They hadn't been trimmed in quite sometime. Phil is a certified arborist so it was good to hear that there were no issues other than necessary trimming needed to "thin" and correct growth for safety and proper growth. I hate to be so late in reviewing, but I'm finally getting a chance to post. These guys were fantastic! We were in search of a new certified arborist to remove a huge dying very old deodar cedar (we have two in our front yard). We needed to be sure they were certified, and they provided paperwork upon request. They took care of removing the entire tree (including stump removal), plus trimming the other huge deodar cedar and a couple other trees for a decent price (yes, it was expensive but their pricing was better than we had anticipated). I was sad to see the tree go (thanks, drought), but they did such a lovely job and the ground up mulch smells terrific. We will definitely use them again for tree maintenance! read more

Phil was recommended to me by another arborist I'd used in the past. I needed a service that my guy didn't do, having a tree cabeled. Phil answered the phone first try and came out the next day to give an estimate. While he was there, I showed him another job I needed handling-a large Monterey pine that was leaning dangerously needed to be removed. I had already done a little shopping around, so I knew his bid was good. We agreed on the spot and scheduled the removal for the next day. His crew came the first day and trimmed and cabeled my sagging Meleluca tree, it now looks great, and is stable for a lifetime (I hope!) His crew of 6 guys came out the following day and made unbelievably fast work of taking down the 50 foot tall Monterey pine. They took care not to damage any of the many surrounding trees, hauled away all the downed wood and cleaned up the area all the way down to blowing away the sawdust!
