We came on Friday for lunch and at 12:10 the parking lot was not even full, yet my friends had to wait at the entrance to be seated until I arrived. We were given a menu book but the staff kept telling us to use the tablet, which is locked inside the case at the far end of the table. Finally she unplug the tablet and we could take it out. I loved Ondam, their staff is extremely helpful and attentive! My aunt and I went here after our Friday evening flight. Even though it was busy, we were seated quickly and served banchan. We were able to order with ease: I'm vegan and was able to eat the Mushroom Tofu soup with a water base (their tofu soup is typically made with beef broth). My aunt ordered the Mixed Tofu soup. We both received an egg and rice with our order. The soup and rice were so delicious! Inside, the place was well decorated for the holiday season. And the staff was so friendly, and answered all of our small questions (where is that decoration from? what is this dish made out of?). I was so lucky to find this place across the street from my hotel. they stay open late and i called in my order for pick up. it was packaged and ready, and they got it right to me even though it was packed with BTS ARMY after the first Stanford concert. We ordered the Bossam, Seafood Pancake, Bimbap, and the Rose tteokbokki. The ambience was modern and we ordered through a tablet that was attached to the table. The service was practically non-existent besides them bringing food to our table. Other than that, the food was delicious, there was no gamey flavor with the pork, the tteokbokki was creamy and rich flavor. Some things I did note was that the cold noodles were bland, and the seafood pancake batter seemed a little thick, so it fell apart easily when picked up. To add to that, the seafood pancake also had very little seafood. The Beef Sotbap was the star--tender, savory, and the crispy rice at the bottom was perfection. For something refreshing, the Kimchi Cold Noodles had a fantastic tangy crunch. Have seen Ondam in passing when I've come to this plaza in the past and always wanted to try! Came in on a Sunday night at 7pm and waited about 20 minutes for a table for 2. Upon walking through the thick wooden front doors, there is an immediate upscale vibe to the place: sleek white interior accented with floating lanterns and clean wooden tables and chairs. The atmosphere was lively, but a perfect ambiance for a date night. Our food came out pretty fast after we ordered, but we had a little bit of trouble flagging down our server for to-go boxes and the check. We were in no rush though. - Ondam Bossam: this was my first time trying Bossam and it was delicious! The presentation of the dish was very nice and the pork had really good flavor. I do wish they provided more cabbage wraps. - Marinated beef Sot Bap: also my first time ordering a simple rice bowl like this, and I was genuinely surprised at how flavorful the beef was even though it looked like it would be dry. Paired well with the 6 different banchan dishes. Overall, the food tasted great and the ambiance was really cool. And they're open late, which is a plus! On a Saturday night the entrance was packed with 5-6 other groups waiting, but thankfully we got seated immediately as we joined the Yelp waitlist in advance! We got: Spicy marinated crab: 7/10 better than some I've had in the Bay Area but not what I was hoping for. The crab is completely covered in "spicy" sauce which is actually just red and sweet. I am still craving the soy marinade one from Korea :') Seafood pancake: 9/10 perfect!! Crisp and thick. My boyfriend and I came to Ondam for dinner. While we were worried about needing a reso to be seated, what helped was coming early (around 5:30 PM) on a weeknight. Service was very efficient. Waitstaff frequently checked on us, and our table had an iPad set up to place orders. We got the jjamppong kalguksu, mixed soondubu, and mandu. Our meal also came with complimentary dessert: a small tea cookie and fermented chilled rice drink (sikhye). All the food and banchan tasted amazing! My favorites were the jjamppong kalguksu and the mandu. The jjamppong broth was so flavorful. Not too spicy, and loaded with lots of seafood! The mandu here were some of the biggest I've seen, but the pork-beef filling was really hearty. I also really enjoyed the dessert at the end of our meal. Not too sweet, the perfect amount to top off our heavy meal, and unlike any other dessert that other Korean restaurants would otherwise charge for. Tried Ondam for the first time and it didn't disappoint. Went there on a Friday night and it was pretty full, given that the space is quite expansive. We put our names in the waitlist and had to wait round 10-15 minutes for a table. The space is quite big, so the wait wasn't that long. Customers once seated at their tables have to use their digital ordering system to place food and drink orders and also in case they need to make a request extras like water or silverware. This can be challenging occasionally because your request just goes into the void. The food was delicious. They have decent vegetarian options as well. Loved the gimbap and have been a gimbap fan since then. This place is quite expensive and therefore, might be not on the every week visit list. I got takeout from here Monday night around 9 something. I think they were understaffed because I couldn't find anyone to order takeout from and there was a wait from people trying to pick up food. The food did come relatively quick once I ordered. I ordered: - chicken platter: really salty for the most part but there was one small portion of chicken that was a little sweeter and it offset the salty. - house gimbap (kimbap to me but their spelling not mine): the rice was a little overcooked and stuck together, like Costco sushi. Really bland and I think they missed the sesame oil Overall I think it's a cute interior but I didn't think the food I got was particularly good. My mom and I ordered the corn cheese, she ordered Bulgogi Sot Bap, I ordered Mul Naengmyeon (Cold noodles). Super delicious, I really love how much side that they gave us. We had a lot of refills for fish cakes. And they do give us a lot. The cold noodles was super good, super necessary, especially doing the summer heat. Staff are super nice, it was our first time and they told us how to order, and what side dishes was included for the main dishes. Also initially they wouldn't seat us till we all arrived. But we had two toddlers with us so they made an exception. Also again, it wasn't busy so I don't see why they couldn't seat us. Anyways they have tablets on the table for ordering. But they also gave us some hard back menus to peruse also. We got the bulgogi gimbap (2 orders), LA galbi, kimchi fried rice, seafood pancake and the japchae. I was satisfied but it might not have been enough food for the guys. I would say the gimbap was my favorite. And it was the first time my toddler had gimbap. It was deconstructed but he ate all the parts. The galbi was good, but not amazing. It was also pretty pricy. Wait was around 15 minutes at 1:30 pm on a Sunday. Once seated, we were given a choice of hot tea or iced water. The hot tea seems to be barley tea. Kimchi fried rice was pretty wet rather than fried. Tasted pretty good overall though - spicy from the kimchi and somewhat salty. Only the physical menu says this but there's spam in it so it's not vegetarian. The fried egg on it is slightly runny. Kimchi pancake fell apart pretty easily as far as texture goes. I could taste the kimchi but it was fairly bland/doughy overall. It does come with a fairly spicy sauce to add flavor though. Bossam was amazing - the pork belly was so tender that some pieces completely fell apart as soon as I picked them up. We were given two sauces intended for the bossam - one with tiny salted shrimp and another that looked like salsa and tasted very savory, probably made of fermented soybean paste (doenjang). The dish comes with napa cabbage and large pink pickled radish to wrap the meat in, as well as spicy radish kimchi and sliced garlic pieces. My mom ordered the vegetarian mushroom sotbap which was unexpectedly tiny. She also found it fairly plain overall, as it seems like the intention is to flavor it yourself with the provided sauces. A seemingly upscale restaurant with good classic Korean food. The overall service was notably great, with servers who were very knowledgeable about their food and who were able to explain both the menu and the specials when we had questions. The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated with lot of wood pieces/dividers, it's definitely one of the more atmospheric spots in the area. I will mention, perhaps this is exclusive to the evening, but the lights in the restaurant were quite dimmed in favor of the candle-like lights present at every table - not an issue for me but just worth mentioning. The food here is definitely a highlight - most dishes are sharable, and the prices are a bit higher for it (I believe this is a pocha style spot). The banchan is stellar, with a lot of different variety, and they were very good about refilling any that we finished! My favorite dishes of the night were the rose tteokbokki, the spicy and soy raw marinated crabs, and the seafood pancake. The rose tteokbokki especially was really balanced, which I find not a lot of Korean spots can do well - it wasn't too spicy nor too cheesy. We also ordered 2 kalguksu, both of which were very well seasoned and had a lot of seafood in them, and the chicken sampler - which were all super well done and very crispy!
