We have been to the independence and legacy location many times, but we will not be returning after tonight. There is a transgender employee that works there, which is totally fine. What is not fine is when that person decides to throw a receipt at you because you're five year-old daughter says she instead of whatever you want to be called. My daughter is the sweetest thing, and when you talk, look, and sound like a woman, she is going to say she. You have no business working any children's clothing store if you cannot handle that. It is very obvious that this person cannot. I refuse to be disrespected and have my daughters disrespected because this company does not know how to train their employees correctly. I seriously wanted to walk back in and throw the $200 worth of clothing I had just purchased back at them along with the receipt the same way this person did to us. A great place with always friendly service. They have new & gently used clothes, shoes, toys, & accessories for newborns up to teens . The prices are always reasonable to very good and they have good options of items to choose from. I went from before my daughter was born until she was in her early teens. I've bought & sold from them and received great service either way. Kids grow quickly and this is a great place to get what you need for them for a valuable price & also have the opportunity to sell the items back once it's no longer needed. read more

Seller rip-off. Going to sell items here is a crapshoot. I brought in barely used high end items and other Carter and Garanimals Cat& Jack pieces, they cherry picked out a few and paid like $1.50 per item at best. Other items they passed on bc of excess wear and tear or they were out of style. Yes bc a 3 year old is up with VOGUE KIDS trends. These people want items straight from Neiman Marcus to their store within 24 hours, with tags otherwise they're worthless. I'd rather bundle and sell direct to consumer on eBay if I'm getting a $1 per item. read more

Great way to get through those quick growing years with your kids! There is a lot of variety of clothing, many still new with tags! They have sales often so make sure you sign up for their loyalty program. It can be a little slow at times for the buyback, but for the most part there on par with other consignment places. Great way to save money and get cute clothes and costumes for your kiddos. For the most part they're very accommodating and will help you out if you're looking for something specific. How many once upon a child employees does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Who knows they're all staring at you and each other as you walk in. Smh. First one in the door today and it took me 25 min to get out. There was absolutely no old items/bags in front of what I gave them. One reusable bag size of stuff. There were about 12 employees in the store. And yet only one could go through my stuff, and that same one person could only answer the phones too. Then she finally got done and passed my stuff off to someone else to enter, and a third person to ring me up. I don't understand why a business has 12 people on the floor at one time, I'm the only one in there, and yet no one says hi or really acknowledges or helps me. I don't understand how a business can be so inefficient and rude to pretty much everyone who walks in. read more

I want to say I have come here on 3 different occasions. Each time was a great experience. People have to understand they aren't going to get what they paid for these items. It's a great way to get a few bucks for nearly new kids clothes that would have other wise sat and collected dust or been donated for $0. You have to understand people that are shopping here do not have the means to buy these types of clothes for their kids brand new and are coming here to buy nice clothes for very low prices. I came from 40 minutes away and made me wait 2 hours for them to tell me they only wanted 3 items from a huge tote bag I brought in! $6 was all they gave me for this long wait. As the weather gets warmer, we realized our 2 year old doesn't fit in any of his summer wear! I was lamenting to a coworker about buying a whole new wardrobe & they told me about Once Upon a Child. They exclusively shop here, so I figured I would try it. Let's just say I'm DEFINITELY coming back! Everything on sale was in great condition and they had a ton of variety. It was organized by gender, size, type, and color. The store was clean & very well organized. The customer service was top notch, getting me signed up to receive points super easily. You actually accumulate coupons from shopping there very easily. For $95, I got 8 pairs of shorts, 9 shirts, PJs, and shoes. Such a great deal! I came in with a basket of brand new/ very lightly used items including a bassinet, blankets, hats and bibs (all new) and didn't even make it to the check in counter before the woman on staff told me that my items weren't sellable and they wouldn't be accepted. I'm not sure how she determined the eligibility of them being able to be sold without even looking at my basket, but she was very rude about it and turned around and walked off before I could even get another word in. Highly suggest the garland location off of george bush rather than this location as the staff there is MUCH friendlier and helpful! read more

I brought in 2 large boxes of hardly worn clothes ages 3mo-2yo to sell to them. After waiting over an hour, they offered me only $16 & only wanted 12 items. The lady Rose was so rude too. She has little patience for customers. Sell your child's clothes on facebook marketplace in small bundles. What a waste of 2 hours + hours of my day! read more

Probably one of the most organized Once Upon a Child stores I've ever been in, but the staff wasn't very friendly. No one greeted me when I walked in and was quite rude when I asked questions. A simple yes or no is sufficient. Even though this is probably the cleanest store is the metroplex, I will not be back. read more

I have given over 100s of dollars to this place and I will never again! I will stop buying from them. They take advantage of you by giving you the lowest for your clothes put turning around to over sell them. Then I took my stroller in to sell. A stroller I spent over $200 for and she took one look and so no. The stroller was still in great condition but the stop cover was a little bent and had a black scuff on it that I'm sure could have been washed off! Like you are a RESELL store which mean nothing is new!!!!! Never will give them my money again! Would have given no stars if I could! read more

I'm from Chicago so when I came here to sell my babies gently used bikes, clothes etc I walked in and the staff just stared at me and kept doing what they were doing .. so me & my kids were just standing there until someone finally said," are you dropping off ?" So I register everything & they say it's gonna be a 30 min wait .. ok no problem so I stay in the store looking around .. I bought some shirts & more toys but the entire time someone was watching me blatantly .. um ok ? I felt like I wasn't allowed in there or something.. not a good feeling at all. I ended up buying a bunch of clothes and they didn't accept not ONE piece of clothing, not even the ones with tags ! That's fine I paid for the items I got in the store & never step foot back in this location. I am black & Asian so I'm not sure if it's because of that I was getting dirty looks or that's just the tone of the women there .. either way they were extremely rude especially the older white woman. read more

I've been to this location several times because for the most part they have some pretty good items. The staff is extremely impolite and rude. There MAYBE one employee that's nice, has a pleasant smile and voice. But the rest of the staff do not speak when you go to the counter (unless you're white), they don't make eye contact and they act as if you're bothering them. I've attempted to sell items to them twice. The time it takes them to go through the items and pricing they offer for your items are not worth, selling. I do not recommend this location to ANYONE. They should hire a more pleasant staff and teach them BASIC customer service skills. I'll try selling to another location. read more

This place is amazing for all your children's clothing needs! They have lots of gently used and some new children's clothes for all ages. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are great. They also have a half yearly sale I believe in February and August that they mark down many items to $1. I do most of my shopping for my two year old at this location. I have never had any problems up until about two months ago. This new young employees are very rude!!! You walk in and they are either chatting or just look at you and don't greet you at all and when you ready to check out, you have to stand there and wait till they feel like checking you out. My review is based on a comparison of this store to the Dallas location near/on Skillman. The Plano store is large and has a big selection. As another reviewer has mentioned, it's amazingly well organized by color within each type of garment. The store is clean and pleasant to shop in, and the clothes are in great condition. Word of caution: the check out set up is pretty inefficient so be prepared for a wait on busy days. You can get a good deal on their regular priced clothing, depending on what it is. For example, t-shirts, shorts, and swimsuits are a great buy, but jeans and some dresses can be priced close to retail. For those items, wait for a sale. I've never sold here and, based on the reviews, won't. Overall, this is my favorite location and I'd recommend it. read more

They do not enforce a face mask policy and when I was there, I saw several customers without masks on so I had to leave the store. I bought my items somewhere else. I have a co-morbidity with regard to corona virus and it's dangerous to be in a place where they allow anyone to come in with no mask -- even people with severe asthma can wear a face shield of some sort to protect others, so there are no "medical excuses" for this. read more

I buy clothes in the Plano store often as the quality of the clothes are good, the prices fantastic, and the store is so well organized and clean.I did notice that a Disney baby bouncer was the same almost the same price as retail and passed on that purchase, so it pays to google the larger items before buying them. I have not tried to sell clothes. However, in the past when I sold clothes elsewhere, I was always disappointed. I guess you either make money when you sell or save it when you buy. Can't have both. The store has to make money to stay in business. I will continue to do business with this store. read more

first I want to start off by saying the customer service here, is trash. I went in with no "hi, hello, how are you doing?" Absolutely nothing. I went in to sell a couple items in which I recently bought from there a few weeks prior for a friend in need, who turned out to have already received what I had bought. I bought a two seater stroller in perfect condition EXACTLY how I bought it from this location, and the lady tells me she can't buy it because it is missing a plate at the front of the stroller...Meanwhile this is exactly how I bought this item. I don't understand how you can sell something one way and not buy it back the same way that you sold it. I was completely unsatisfied and more than likely won't be going back. My stroller was in perfect condition at the end of the day. And the stroller wasn't the only issue, the customer service was apart of the problem too. read more

I can always find a cute outfit or two. I signed up for email alerts and they let me know when sales come around. Store is organized somewhat but I wouldn't say well- making it hard to navigate when you have small ones. They do have a walled in play area but currently my little one is to small for that. Isles are small and cramped but if you are not afraid to dig you will for sure come out with some cute outfits. Some things are very reasonable other things are strangely overpriced- but, all in all it's a very good deal for fast growing little ones. Store staff is nice but overrun with buying/selling/pricing items. I can't imagine working at a place with so many items to navigate. I agree with the other reviewer don't bother selling. I sold them 6 things for $3 - I would have felt better just giving them away- but that's the business they are in. Get a frequent shopper card- they stamp for every $10 sold. It's not a great reward- something like 30% off an entire purchase or something it's nice. read more

My wife has been to this location multiple times and each time the employees were rude. On top of that when she went back in to complain today, they were already talking about my wife behind her back and the manager refused to apologize. She simply said "Well we are very busy". If you go to a busy restaurant do you expect your waitress to be rude? Nope. Maybe it's because my wife is Hispanic? It seemed when I walked in and stood next to my wife the lady was surprised. I LOVE THE NEW LOCATION!!! Love the selection and the staff is super nice! I think they should do the 10% discount as well for not taking a bag and being a value customer. I use my rewards card(s) all the time to get additional savings. I just purchased a ton of clearance items that were 50% off and also had regular priced items also so I go to use my 20% discount card on those items.
