This is by far my favorite Once Upon a Child location! I almost always leave with a few great finds for my little guy. They have an excellent variety of brands at 50-80% off retail, which makes it easy to stock up on unique pieces. I've given this location multiple chances and unfortunately the service has been consistently horrible. Every single time I have visited, the staff have been rude, snobby, and honestly just mean. The last time I went I told myself I would never come back again, but I decided to give them one final chance -- and it was the same experience all over again. The last time I went, I dropped off multiple boxes of items. I had arranged the items in a specific way so I would be able to tell if they were actually going through everything. By the time I had barely left the parking lot, they had already texted me saying they were done. When I picked the boxes back up, it was obvious the items had barely been touched, which confirmed they didn't actually go through them. Not to mention, some of the clothes they are selling are way overpriced and honestly pretty low quality for a used clothing store. It doesn't make sense to charge those prices for items that are clearly worn. At this point, the owner really needs to step in and manage this location because the way it's being run feels completely out of control. I've visited multiple times hoping the experience would improve, but it hasn't. I will never visit this business again and I will absolutely be directing and advising others to do the same. For anyone looking for a better experience, the Tempe and Gilbert locations are much better. The owners there are awesome and they do a great job actually running their stores and treating customers with respect. I see I'm not the only one with issues reviewing around staff, resale and more after coming here to look at reviews!!! This has been going on for a long time looks like at least the past two years! Also another thing they do is they will offer a percentage off or discount sometimes a coupon for leaving reviews!!! Ok was clearing out the closets from winter clothes mostly and took 2 big bins of my daughters' clothes to the store and some old children's books. An hour and a half later they messaged me they've sorted through(Not so sure they even did) and all they offer me is $2.50 for 5 books....no clothes. Needless to say I'm sure not all of it was in perfect condition but I know for sure a few items were brand new! Just Looking at them it appeared to me they never even looked through my clear tub. There is another Kids boutique around the corner(K2K) so I dropped off the same bins to that store and an hour and a half later they gave $50 worth of credit on the exact same bins! I'm not one to usually give bad reviews but I feel strongly that this place either had something against me or there's something else going on or they didn't even look at my stuff as I was a Dad dropping off girls clothes. Don't bother with this place, especially if you're a Dad...just go to the place around the corner! read more

This is my second issue with the same ladies. I drop off my stuff hours before closing and they always give me attitude when dropping off. I never write reviews but I just have to at this point. I was told the first time it would be an hour 1/2 & they texted me to pick up 10 mins before closing. They gave me a $5 coupon for books. This time I dropped off around 4:30-5pm, the lady that checked me in said "we're having technical difficulties" but I would still need to pick up before 8:00pm. I received a text at 7:54pm. I live all the way in Laveen & im out in the area once a week. I told her this has happened before & she said "well you should come back another day & sell to us" I treat others how they want to be treated & customer service is never there when I have had the same interaction twice! I love once upon a child for the affordability. However this location in particular, the girls that work here are all super mean. It gives high school vibes. I walked up to the cashier to pay and the 2 girls standing there didn't even acknowledge me. Then when I said "Hi", they just looked at me like I was stupid. They need training in their customer service skills. I think people working here need nicer attitudes considering it's a KIDS store. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is such a joke! I have bought so many things from here in various conditions and yet when I brought BRAND NEW items as well as items used literally 1 time they told me "everything was in bad condition". I bought a baby bouncer from them that had scratches on it and I used it 3x. Returned it for resale in a cleaner state then how I bought it and they told me they can't take items with marks on them even though that's exactly how I bought it. They will lowball you or tell you your items are in bad condition when they are not. DO NOT go here. It's such a scam. read more

Plenty of parking. Staff was very helpful when I needed to get something down or if I had any questions. They have great prices and ALOT of inventory. I kind of think too much as it was hard to move through the store with a shopping cart. I took a few items to sell that were all brand new and I got $20 for them, I was happy with that read more

I came into the store dropping things off and I wasn't even there for more than 5 minutes and the girl with glasses and puff hair that is always there says she can't take anything without even looking at my boxes rolling her eyes at me, looks at the top stuff and judges it. wasted my time going once again. I was actually in this plaza to look for fabric at Joann Fabrics to make a costume for the kiddo (Wishful thinking on my part since I hate and am super slow at sewing) when I saw the Once Upon a Child sign a few doors down... Hmm it couldn't hurt to take a look! They have a pretty wide selection of Halloween clothes here and luckily for me I found exactly what I needed for cheaper than the price it would take to actually make a costume. Shopping at any Once Upon a Child is dangerous for me because there's always cute stuff to buy and this one was especially the case. This location seems to have a lot of designer wear. I saw toddler dresses from Kate Spade and Hudson jeans. I didn't even know those brands came in toddler size! The one drawback of this location though is that their selection standards don't seem to be as picky as other locations so examine the clothes pretty thoroughly before buying. There were a few outfits that had holes or unwashable stains on them when I looked through the racks. read more

My daughter broight me here to see if she could find a baby carrier to use for hiking. We looked through all the cute outfits, searched for a Halloween outfits & left there with much, much more. We also found what I was looking for, a toddler activity box for my grandson. We cleaned & sanitized it. He loved it. I loved how clean it was, well thought out. My wife and I have shopped here for some time and sold items here. I am a strong believer in customer service, being that I own a local BBQ shop. I will sum it up by stating that this store has declined. Twice we have tried to bring in some of our kids clothes to sell but the buying counter is always closed. I visited this place for the first time yesterday.. When I walked in, I was not greeted by the staff, instead all 3 of them looked up and glared at me like they were annoyed from yet another guest entering the store...maybe the sweat shop vibe of them lined up inspecting the incoming clothes had them perturbed. Once I checked out with the couple of items I found, the girl asked me did I want to use any points. I said how do earn points and she couldn't even explain the simple points program, another girl had to correct her as they went back and forth over easy math; 1 point earned for every $10 dollars spent. She was better off not even mentioning the points since she didn't even know how the program worked. The vibe was low vibrational.I wouldn't bring a stitch of my babies pre owned clothes in this place. I would donate them to a mother in need before I came back to a place where people can't even stand their own existence. I didn't expect much, but at least standard human decency. read more

Once Upon a Child is a great place to shop. They have a wide selection of items to choose from for all ages! The staff is always extremely helpful, kind, and personable. It is apparent they take a great deal of time to handpick pieces that are gently used. The prices are more than fair plus, they have a ton of really great perks with their rewards system. We recently purchased 20 bodysuits for 10 dollars! The space is very clean and organized, too! We have also returned a big item (nothing wrong with it, we just had family send us the same thing) and they accepted the return with no issues or questions asked. Highly recommend! read more

Attended grand opening. They were good with social distancing due to pandemic rules. Now let's talk stock. We are avid buyers at kid to kid across the road and am used to finding items new with tags or gently used items for our little, so I was excited to see another option in the Ahwatukee area, this quickly lead to disappointing results as prices were comparable to be more expensive than their competitor, or on the same price as target (brand new and on sale). Staff were helpful, but to summarise too expensive for what it was. Will not be rushing back, the hype was not worth it. read more

This is a beautiful new store. This Franchised Chain is much more selective regarding purchases from consumers than others I've seen, resulting in a great selection of "like new" and even "new" merchandise. This concept is perfect for recycling Kids Clothes, Shoes, Baby Equipment etc. and save parents (and Aunts :) a lot of money. The staff are all wearing masks, cleaning and following safety guidelines. Helpful and welcoming. I am recommending to all of my friends and family! read more

wow. one of the nicest consignment stores i've ever been to. the staff is beyond incredible and so friendly. i love looking through all the racks and finding gems. they really take in top tier items. seriously everything looks and feels brand new. make sure before you go check out and you have all your items that you take an extra minute to look through everything and examine for any imperfections! i recommend using a pair of scissors to take the tags off as ripping them can damage the delicate and soft clothes. but the discounted items here are really where it's at. they're usually running some type of sale/event when i go and it's always extremely worth it. Recently they had a sale and i took advantage of it twice because it was that good. The first time i got 50 onesies for $20 and the second time i got 70 onesies for $30. i completely stocked up for the first year of my sons life. I did all the math and these clothes would've cost over $1,200. and i got them all for $50. they also have other amazing items, toys, and baby gear. this location is pretty far from where i live but it's well worth a drive. i've been to other locations but this one is definitely my favorite. my husband and i aren't really into clothes shopping in general but we lose track of a good hour here and enjoy it. he always wants to come when he knows i'm going now, and i too enjoy coming here. read more
