They made the whole selling process super easy and stress free. I was able to sell a lot of my kids' clothes and was really happy with the price I received. And of course, I couldn't leave without shopping! I have a 3 year old and a newborn, so finding great quality items at such good prices was amazing. I was in citrus Heights when I decided to stop and see if I could find a couple of shorts and tank tops and T-shirts for my daughters. I walked in two of the employees there looked at me as I walked in. Neither one of them greeted me. No one said a word so I turned around and walked out. How rude. Unacceptable. Hubby picked up a beautiful Blueberi Boulevard rose dress for Mirarose that was on sale that's she's worn for Christmas and now Valentines Photos this past weekend! My review is strictly based on my experience selling items here, which I didn't even get to do. Their website and socials say they buy ALL DAY! There is no mention ANYWHERE that they only purchase before 4pm. So I drove 45mins with a ton of stuff in my car and wasted gas to arrive at 5:20 and be told they stopped purchasing at 4pm. When I explained their website says all day, the young lady told me their Instagram says they stopped purchasing buying at 4pm and that there is a sign on the door as well. Well I don't come here normally, so your door sign is useless. And I pulled up their Instagram which I showed her and it doesn't say ANYTHING about purchases being before 4pm. However, let's be honest, even if it did say it on Instagram, you need to have that info on all socials and your website. So don't trust their website or socials. I rarely leave reviews, but this was genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I called ahead before bringing in a huge load of baby items and specifically asked questions so I wouldn't waste my time. At no point did anyone explain how absurdly picky they are about items needing to look basically brand new. If someone had simply told me they reject anything with even minor staining, I would have cleaned things beforehand or not wasted hours hauling multiple strollers, bags of baby items, and equipment into the store. They ended up buying almost nothing, which already made the trip a complete waste of time. Then, during the chaos of reloading everything back into my car, I accidentally left behind a very expensive stroller worth around $450. When I realized it, I called immediately trying to resolve it. Instead of anyone being remotely helpful, I got nothing but "that's our policy." The manager later contacted me days afterward only to repeat the exact same script. Apparently he "looked at the cameras" and "talked to staff," yet somehow nobody knows where the stroller went. Meanwhile another employee had already told me someone took it to the donation area. So which is it? The bigger issue is the complete lack of accountability, communication, and critical thinking from management. A good manager tries to solve problems. This guy just hid behind policy and offered zero actual help. Most of the staff were rude, dismissive, and acted like customers were an inconvenience. Avoid this location entirely unless you enjoy wasting your time, being treated poorly, and potentially having your property disappear with nobody willing to take responsibility. read more

I always find the best stuff here! Great prices and great brands prices are very affordable! Most items I bought were $4-7 each. Good selection of carters and baby gap which are some of my favorites! I've been coming here since I was pregnant and now my baby is 3 months old. Will definitely be coming here for all my baby clothes! read more

This is tricky. This is the closet OUAC to me, but by far the most expensive. The prices have absolutely increased since change in ownership, but the quality of merchandise has not improved. The staff are hit and miss and often changing. The conversations I hear amongst them are always incredibly inappropriate. The owner calls everyone by pet names: employees & customers. I think it's a bit much. I don't feel comfortable being called "Baby cakes" while checking out. But it's not just me, it's everyone. They also have an automatic room spray that is way too strong. I typically have a quick visit because the scent is just too much. In saying all of that, I do come here often because of its proximity. However, Sac hands down has the best location in terms of square footage, organization, cleanliness and quality of employees. read more

It's so crazy that they are charging $3-4 per outfit the point of this store is to make it affordable for families in need. I spent $20 on 5 outfits. The most expensive was an avocado Halloween costume, which was $6.50 so not too bad. I could have spent the same money at Ross and the items would be new and unused. The arden store sells the clothes for $1.50, which was amazing to see, but the greenback store is ridiculous. The girls working up front are also very rude and not welcoming at all. Store is clean, we have come here forever, but ever since they got a new owner, the prices are triple what they used to be. Used Jordan's and Nikes for $35+, kids jeans for $10, the old owner would've never had it that high. I brought one container to sale. a young Caucasian male that was sorting it says he couldn't take anything Because it was adults size. When the only thing that was in there was kids cloths and one pair of brand new 7.5 men's converse . He never bother looking through the bins. From the moment me and my daughter walked in the door it was a terrible experience. This is not my first time selling here but it's definitely my last. The lady was rude in her tone and what she said. I came in with 5 large bags of clothes and shoes. She told me it had to be in totes and I could only bring in 2 at a time. I said since when?!?! She pointed to a flyer on the door that I am assuming has that noted. I said well I just folded everything and I don't want to come back a bunch of times. So I said I will just go somewhere else. I called a head of time to make sure they would want my items and brought a munchkin electric baby swim and one baby carrier. Once I came into the store and wasn't greeted. With my baby in my arm I waited for her to finish checking out a customer. Once she did the owner acted as if she didn't see me there still... as well as the three other employees... she tells me they don't except anything after a certain time and I wasn't told so over the phone. She takes a glance at the chair that was almost 200$ retail, says it's dirty and I need to leave. Over a paint mark? Hun purple paint is not dirt.. I look over at their strollers and their display is filthy. I mentioned their dirty display to them and their excuse was the store being under new management.... So the new owner opened the store that day and didn't mind about the dirty items they're selling untill someone points it out.. then blame the old owners for the quality of their items they sell to this day. Our kids are growing up too fast and just the last 2-3 years we accumulated over 4-5 big bins of clothing. We were thinking about selling some and donating the rest. I knew about "Once Upon a Child" buying clothing in good condition so we brought 4 bins over. Once we came in they told us to wait 5-10 min till available. They looked over our clothing and said to return back in 3-4 hrs. Came back 3-4 hrs later and to our surprise more than half of the clothing was refused due to having too many of that size (size 10-12). We were very disappointed. When we got home most of the left over clothing was not even looked at. I'm very disappointed in Once Upon A Child but I'm more than happy to donate the rest to Vietnam Veterans of America "VVA". Btw they barely offered anything for our clothing. I'm being very generous for leaving a 3 stars most likely should be a 2. I don't recommend Once Upon A Child. read more

I used to shop here for in between clothing items for my kids while growing and occasionally sell. I keep good inventory of my items (meaning I list everything out before I drop off to sell) while I think this once upon a child is not as clean or professional as the one in Roseville, they are typically more efficient when it comes to going through your bins. And who doesn't love cash for your kids gently used clothes? Well my perspective has changed and I will not be going to this "small business" due to fraudulent behavior for selling or purchasing any items. This review is a warning to individuals who bring big high ticket items to sell and to ALWAYS check your unsold items before vacating the store. I brought in a pristine baby Tula carrier (my newborn didn't like it the one or two times she was worn in it so almost straight out of the box) as part of my selling lot which retails upwards of $199-$299 online. When I came to pick up my items, I checked what they took as items they were wanting to buy and didn't see the wrap in there so didn't think anything of it. The weekend passed and on Monday, I decided to go though it to organize items to donate along with try to sell online myself. I immediately opened the tub and noticed the Tula wrap wasn't there. I called the store and spoke to the manager she was nice but said "they had no record of it and we don't take items like that anyways (yet when I initially called I asked if they had any wraps in stock to which they named off a few brands on the floor) I said I can totally see this happening as a mistake but I just would like them to search their store and have it returned to me. If it couldn't be located, to than ever compensated in some form. They took down my information I asked to contact their owner directly to which they said "sure you can Instagram message her..." when I did I was happily surprised as the owner responded quickly back and also left me a voicemail. She explained she had to review video footage and would get back to me. I said a week was fine but I needed an update please by than. No response on Monday morning so I reached out to her and she informed me that there was no footage showing a wrap being taken and that she and her team searched the store and couldn't find it. I was extremely disappointed in her response-attached for everyone's viewing pleasure- and than laughed at the "we are a small business and I'm sorry there is nothing we can do." Attached is the message for proof. I wish this would have been handled so differently but shows what happens when it's your word versus there's. Debating about filing a small business claim since that's what they are for the principle right? In the meantime though, here I am with this review hoping this will be read by others so they strongly consider who to support shopping with during "small Business" Season. read more

If you are shopping here, it's okay but for the buys I've grown to dislike it. If you have time early on the weekday right when they open I'd suggest try that but on the weekend I can never get in early enough. I was quoted a wait time on the phone which was 2 hours which was okay with me. I only live about 15 minutes away. I get there and they suddenly aren't taking buys anymore. I understand when you are short people and first come first serve but don't quote people on the phone if you are already at max or almost max capacity. Flash forward, I guess my credit expired 1/24 and my husband went in a few days later and they wouldn't honor the credit. I was unaware this credit even expired???? Normally love the once upon a child locations, but customer service at this one is severely lacking. I'm 5 days post c section trying to find a certain nursing pillow for my newborn that the lactation consultant recommended because my baby is struggling with eating, my husband and I are looking everywhere so I started calling the once upon a child stores around us to ask if they have it as I'm technically supposed to be on bedrest and we need to be efficient. This is the ONLY location that refuses to tell me or check and told me I just had to go in. I'm not asking for them to hold it, just asking if they have them right now. Came in today with my two toddlers and they were just browsing the toys to see which they would pick out and immediately got told not to play and I told the worker "I am purchasing the toys it's ok" and instantly got attitude and watched my kids every move instead of worrying to help customers. Their buy back policy is supposedly posted somewhere, but they do not give even the slightest courtesy to tell you those policies in a nutshell when you come in or direct you as to where they are before you begin the selling process. It would be easy enough just to say, "please be sure to read this portion of this sign-in sheet" (because a sign in sheet really should not be where their absurd policies should be located or a tiny piece of paper where they take down your information). The website is not devoted to an individual store. This particular store will take your things and not pay you if you do not come back THE SAME DAY and not return it, regardless of your intent for that to occur, yet it takes several hours for the review of your items to happen, so it is not like you can wait. They won't call you "per policy" when they have completed their review, even though they take down your phone number. If you are unable to get back the same day, they will refuse to give you the money for the items they took and instead convert it to store credit (that have to be used within 90 days) at their own benefit or donate it. They pay remarkably little for very valuable high quality items and turn around and sell it for 10 times or more the price they gave. In the end, I think the concept of Once Upon a Child is good - to make some of these items affordable for those who need it, but this store is greedy, their policies absurd and borderline theft, their manager unwilling to compromise or understand your circumstance (or even really understand her own policies - she makes up an interpretation of her choosing to justify complete immobility), and has very unhelpful employees. This place basically stole 2 hampers of clean folded baby/toddler clothes I brought in. I came in, gave all my info, they said it could be ready the next day so I came back the next day and according the text message I got sent, it said come in before closing at 6:45 so I trusted that and went in at 6:15, and apparently they closed at 6pm that day so a young man that worked there told me "sorry we're closed but don't worry just come in tomorrow", long story short I came in ONLY 2 days later and my clothes were gone, no record of my Information and they essentially stole everything. I understand I should have come back that next day or called in to touch base but to take everything and tell me sorry it's gone have a nice day? I saw my kids clothes hanging in the Isle... like come on at least for the miscommunication and confusion give me store credit??? I obviously tried to come pick up my clothes TWICE.
