Great service from tech GUS ! He quickly found the problem and ordered the correct part to fix the sloppy installation that was done before we purchased the house. Now the system is purring like a well fed cat. This company is a gem. I requested a quote for HVAC maintenance on 8/27 and received an answer on Yelp in 6 minutes. Called the office the same day and Cindy scheduled us in for 8/29 (the day of this review), only two days after the call. She was polite and patient. Cindy called me on the morning of the appointment to let me know their ETA. Alex, the service gentleman, arrived On Time. He placed his shoe covers/booties on and proceeded to check the furnace. His work was thorough as he inspected the furnace, attic, and condenser. He answered every question I had and left me with a good impression of his company. Alex is personable, knowledgeable and informative. As a person who has minimal knowledge of HVAC systems, I felt that I had just attended a HVAC 101 crash course by the time Alex had completed his work. . I ended up signing up for their 1-year maintenance plan ($149) for 2 yearly visits. There was no pressure for me to sign up for any services - I just thought it was worth it (for about $75 per visit) to have them come out here once every 6 months, check on the system and make sure that it is in good working order. What took On Time Home Services to another level of expertise is their communication platform. Alex documented his visit with photos of the system and a detailed summary of the work. He even read his summary to me and made sure I approve of it. He then shared this information with me via email. As a business owner myself, I am all about transparency and keeping my clients in the loop. I appreciated this reporting format as it reflected one of my business best-practice methods. They showed up to due the 6 month maintenance and somehow crossed up a wire from the thermostat to the inlet air condition unit in the attic where they changed a filter when they left our air quit working they came back the next day to fix the problem they created but could not fix it then refering me to the original installer whom were "we care" plumbing and heating.We care warranty tech found and corrected the problem this left us without air conditioning. for 5 days during heat wave. Like the vast majority of people who use Yelp, I read everyone else's reviews to make my decision while rarely, if ever, leaving a review of my own. However, when someone exceeds my expectations by this much I feel I owe it to them to share and hopefully influence the next potential customer. This might be long, but if you're considering trusting your AC to someone, read on. Our AC unit is original to our house and just over 15 years old. It had been limping along and each summer it was less and less efficient, running longer and cooling less. Yesterday it finally started tripping the breaker and wouldn't stay on. Very quickly it was 90 degrees inside the house. I sent a Yelp quote request to 4 high rated service providers including On Time and although they were slammed, they fit me in. They called me 3 different times throughout the process to give me eta's on the tech's arrival so that I could go through the rest of my day without staring out the window waiting for an orange van to pull up. Wouldn't it be nice if all service providers did the same? When Gus got here, he asked me a few questions to ensure the info I'd previously provided was correct and then dove right in. He invited me to watch while he went through the diagnostic process and did a great job of explaining the why and the how of each step and what he was looking for. I watched his meters with him as we looked for whatever was causing the issue, and it was clear that not only was he very good at his job, he also genuinely enjoyed it. Once we figured out it wasn't an equipment issue, he found the culprit, low R22 refrigerant. We discussed a new unit and the repair/replace scenario, but he didn't try to push anything on me. His price to refill the R22 was right in line with the competition. He topped it off, and while doing so we chatted about how AC units in the home actually work, family life, and he even washed off the AC condenser while teaching me how the AC system works. I learned AC units don't make cold air, they actually remove hot air. Very cool stuff! After it was at the correct pressure, we went into the house (still at 90 degrees!) and measured the output from the vents at 59. Believe me when I say that the air coming out of those vents hasn't been that cold for years! Immediately the house started to cool off, and a few hours after Gus left our house was back to 78. When it comes time to ultimately replace the unit, I will be calling Gus because I trust him to do it right. If you're looking for AC service in SoCal, give On Time a call or ping them on Yelp. Hopefully you'll get Gus and then you can come back to Yelp and post the same great feedback about your experience to help the next person. Thanks again Gus! read more

If there is a problem or question -- they are right on it. We had our yearly AC checkup with Gus. He was prompt, friendly, thorough. BUYER BEWARE!!! This is the WORST contractor that we have ever worked with. Our initial solar job was nearly $50k. That is no chump change and you would expect wonderful service at that price. The entire experience was a nightmare, from several broken pipes (in the attic and outside), to damaged property, to not having hot water for showers for weeks. It was a NIGHTMARE!!! We are still dealing with issues related to their work. We stopped calling them because we were tired of their excuses and now they are threatening to charge us service calls for them to come out and fix their mistakes. The owner Mike is the worst and most condescending contractor we have ever worked with. At one point he had a disgruntled employee who gave my husband and earful of how Mike runs his business, his response was to fire the employee. On another instance one of their employees broke a pipe and was attempting to drive away for the day. Luckily my husband arrived and made them stop and address the broken pipe. The water was literally gushing down our driveway. This was, by the way, the second time they knowingly drove away after breaking a pipe (and not telling us). Needless to say, the entire experience was a nightmare. We are certainly not satisfied customers but did not have them do anything else because we just wanted them off our property. I would never work with them again and would caution anyone else to ever work with them. Their reviews, for the most part, appear to be positive for AC work. I would caution you to KEEP AWAY from them if you plan to have solar work. We are incredibly dissatisfied customers after $43k plus dollars of "work" from this sham company (the price was reduced because they were unable to successfully install an electric water heater they convinced us to purchase)! We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and are contemplating legal action due to all of the additional costs we have incurred from their poor craftsmanship, including water leaks in and around the area where they worked. WHICH, by the way, I photographed and asked them to repair the work before it was "covered up with dirt." They never provided us with an opportunity to inspect the repairs before they completed the work. I was assured by Mike that it was repaired but that if we encountered any problems in the future he gave us his word that he would come out and fix it. Just today we encountered another issue with one of the many sprinklers that they broke and "repaired." When repairing the pipe, they never cleaned it out and it was full of dirt causing the water to not flow. Additionally, they glued the pipe rather than threading it. Overall, they either did not know what they were doing or they were simply lazy and chose to do a poor job. I would not be at all surprised if Mike responded to this message refuting my review/statements. To this I say, go for it Mike. I have several text messages and photos that I would be happy to share with other potential customers. read more

First I just want to say i feel very lucky that you guys were able to come out to our house on the same day that I called you about our air conditioner being out. It has been very hot for the past three days now our AC went out and our landlord was taking forever to get somebody to come out and fix it. We have a little kids in our house so it was really tough being in the house with no AC. I called on time home services and they came out the same day. They sent Gus to our house who I have to say is a complete god sent! He spoke to our landlord and got her to agree to use their services Gus came back and had our AC running within 20 minutes and oh my God it felt so good to have our AC back again. On Time is the WORST!!! My air went out on a Friday (and we were preferred customers, meaning we came before other customers because we paid monthly for it) so they told us that they would be out Early Monday morning....well that didn't happen! Gus Robles, the service tech showed up late in the day Monday & it was on one of the days when it was in triple digits. When he got here he told me I was low on Freon & I probably had a leak. I told him to go ahead & fill it with Freon & put the stuff you need to to stop the leak. He told me he did. Asked for pmt & I said please bill me like always. A couple days later I got a call from the company asking pmt & I said send me a bill like always, Cindy the office lady wasn't happy bout it but did. Bout 4 days later I received another call from Cindy saying they would really like a pmt. well we didn't see on the bill what Gus had done for us on the service. Also the bill was for $200.00 when Gus told me he would knock it down to $180.00. I called when I got the bill in the mail and asked Cindy why the bill was $200 why Gus said $180, well she had an attitude with me and finally said "well I'll have to call him and ask him bout it" , & I said ok I'll be here at this #. Cindy then returning my call telling me yes ur bill is $180. I said thank you and hung up. While Gus was at my house when he was finished (doing nothing) he's standing in my home telling me bout All the yelp reviews he has & all the 5 stars he has (like I gave a crap) and that the other air conditioner places only have one star! Umm rude to put other people & companies down! I personally call that Karma. I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! The condensate pump on a mini-split failed, so I called On Time to quote a replacement. They were on time, called before arrival, and were super courteous. After some tinkering, the pump turned on spontaneously. The repairman put it back together and said he'd order the parts anyway, just in case it fails again. I'm happy that the pump is working again, but I definitely know who I'll call if/when it fails again! I Highly recommend this company - they were punctual, courteous, and honest. read more

I've had some bad experiences with a different company in the past so I was wary at first but all that was gone when Gus showed up. This company is completely ridiculous. My downstairs AC was working completely fine until this company came out. They initially came out to fix upstairs unit and they did. But soon after my AC unit downstairs isn't working. I call to get my warranty and they don't want to honor it. Instead they want me to pay another $700 on top of what I have already paid. A month later we found out through a home inspection the AC wasn't working and there was a potential leak we called Rick right away. he came out the same day gave us different options and took care of the problem He also fixed high voltage wires that were exposed.
