The beer battered cheese curds were quite tasty, but the hamburger left a lot to be desired. We stayed at attached hotel so stopped by for dinner when we got in. Sports bar vibe with lots of tv's in an old brewery building. We had a new server who was a little slow and also brought our app with the meals instead of first which was mildly annoying. The food was good - fish and chips were good. Great spot in the heart of the old Pabst Brewery district. Used to be called Jackson's PBR. Happy it is open again, because it has always been one of my favorite spots in the city. If you are into beer and MKE comfort food, this may very well be your spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating (in the summer). They have a beautiful interior, with old woods and an amazing bar top. There is fun deco throughout, and a wonderful PBR theme to the place. The bartenders and servers have always been nice and helpful. There is a decent amount of street parking, but you may have to feed the meter. The beer is focused around Pabst, but they have other choices as well. We used to come and get 40oz PBRs. Not sure if they are still doing that with all of the covid changes, but it was always a fun experience to sit around with a group, enjoy a few gigantic beers, and have some laughs. All in all a great MKE spot with a fun atmosphere, beautiful vibe/design, solid beer list, and good old fashioned food choices. You really can't go wrong. read more

Arrived to hotel last night and sat at the bar with friends travelling with us. Service was very slow but not what I came here to say because I was a server and bartender and am pretty understanding. The two women bartending yesterday were extremely disrespectful to us. I politely asked to close out our tab (after already asking several times before) and she snarkly said "give me a minute" with eye roll. Fine, no problem. Then 15 minutes passes and were running late for our dinner reservation and I asked the other bartender to close us out. We thought my friend who was outside calling our cab had given a card for his drink (which he did) and so I said "I think he has a card on file but i will give you mine in case " and the other bartender acted like I was wasting her time by not being sure whose card to us and also had a snarky attitude and threw her hands up at me, so I repeated back to her the same response she gave me (threw hands up and acted frustrated). She yelled back "Don't be sh**ty to me!" And then proceed to tell my wife "sorry the service was such sh*t, we were really busy." There was not an ounce of politeness from the moment we sat down to this incident. the screaming of a curse word across the bar coming from an employee was real classy! read more

Every question I asked was met with a puzzled look and a snobby answer. Ex: ME: can you give me change for my dollars to pay the meter? HER: you want me to do what?? *returns inside from paying the parking meter ME, jokingly: is Friday considered a weekday here? (Happy hour) HER: no, it's the weekend. No happy hour. ME: it's a cocktail with gin HER: I've never heard of that in my life A guy sitting at the bar on a computer intervenes (I dont know, could be the bar manager) he googles it and gets up to make my drink. He makes conversation with me and explains to the bartender that is a cocktail with gin and Champagne. HER: are you gonna close out your tab now ME: no, I may want another drink depending on how long I have to wait for my friend. HER: well, I am about to be off my shift so can you close out now? ME: um, sure The drink is great. I ordered the pretzel with dipping sauces. The only one I like was the honey mustard. So, met some friends here after our dinner downtown for our anniversary. Absolutely beautiful establishment but I have to be honest, I have bartended for years and have never experienced such a lack of attention in a very long time. I bought drinks for me and my friends and you wld have thought we disappeared into the bar. Never once, NOT ONE TIME, were we ever asked if we needed, wanted or would like another cocktail OR for that matter, how we were or if we needed anything!! We have sat for nearly an hour as she visits at the end of the bar mindless of our existence. As I type, she placed our ticket on the bar!! I decided to try this bar as part of a Yelp elite event that had their after party here. I sat at the bar and ordered a PBR and then a cocktail that the bartender recommended along with the Brewery Tostachos. The cocktail was good but the food wasn't the best. 3 stars given because the service was great. I used to love this place because of their pretzel crusted chicken sandwich and they got rid of it and only that. The rest of the menu is average at best. You'll usually get drinks, your order taken, and your food delivered. You often need to ask for refills and they don't usually ask how things are going along the way. End of story. Waitress was nice but maybe a little inexperienced this the lack of communication and food delivery mishap. I didn't see the four stars friends. Sorry. This place is incredible! We started off with their "Knot for the Faint of Heart" pretzel with the beer cheese, spinach & artichoke, and philly cheesesteak dips, and it was delicious! Honestly one of the best pretzels i've ever had, and definitely recommend the beer cheese and philly cheesesteak dips! For the entrees, we got the "On Tap Chopper" salad with shrimp, and the "What the Cluck" chicken sandwich. The salad was very fresh, was a large portion, and it was super enjoyable! My chicken sandwich was delicious! The pretzel crust to the chicken was a great addition, and the honey mustard aoli it came with was so good, I asked for more! Food was decent but service was HORRIBLE. Waitress kept calling us "kiddos" for some reason even though she was our age. She took so long to come back to us after taking our drink orders that the hostess had to come take our food orders. The food didn't come out for a good 40-45 minutes and it was brought out by the cooks/back of house staff, not even the waitress! Waitress didn't come to check on us after food got there. Keep in mind it was not busy at all! There's was I believe only one other table seated when we were there. Here's the worst part, we left a dollar tip which we thought was reasonable based on the very poor service. Come to find on our bank statements a couple days later that they changed the tip line and charged us $5 for the tip! That's fraudulent and criminal. I finally got in touch with the manager over the phone and she tried to say we were horrible for leaving a dollar tip, and then I explained the terrible service. Anyway, I sent her proof of the fraudulent charges and she continued to give attitude and then refused to refund us. So I followed up with the BBB due to the fact that they fraudulently charged our card. Looking forward to see how that goes. read more
