Had a traumatic implant experience performed by Dr Nack that failed and eventually needed to be removed by a periodontist. I told the periodontist that during the initial implant procedure it felt like I was being waterboarded at times. She informed me this certainly should not be the case. I had a horrible experience with On Pointe Dentistry beginning in late 2023. Needing some routine dental care, I was referred by a friend who had seen Dr. Patel prior to United Dental Corporation's involvement. I ended up seeing Dr. Kode who was very personable and seemed genuine. After addressing the routine issues, we discussed some cosmetic work I was interested in including Invisalign orthodontics. I was skeptical because of some expensive and bad past experiences but Dr. Kode assured me he would personally guarantee I was happy this time so I went ahead and started the Invisalign program. After several weeks I went to a checkin, my teeth still needed more straightening and I was running out of the first set of Invisalign trays. Upon arriving at my appointment, I was notified that Dr. Kode was no longer there. They had me see Dr. Nack who took new images of my teeth to order more Invisalign trays to complete the process. After waiting a few weeks for them to come in, I was called back to see Dr. Nack. He now told me he doesn't have a contract with Invisalign so he couldn't get more trays (???) and he would try to figure something out to make my teeth look like they were straighter. I was very upset with this, particularly since I only undertook the program because I was personally assured that I would be happy with the results this time. On Pointe had no resolution for this but begin to demand the final payment of $535. Eventually I did get a hold of Dr. Kode who was then practicing at a different shop in Ahwatukee and he finished the Invisalign program with me. Throughout late 2024 I had conversations with the ever changing staff at On Pointe about the $535 they still wanted. I told them I was unhappy and felt they treated me poorly, they clearly did not fulfill their promises and they charged me for a "Lifetime Dental Plan" which is now useless to me because their service is so poor. On Pointe has refused to make any concession or accommodation (even an apology) and have now turned the $535 over to a collection agency. I recommend people avoid On Pointe Dentistry and United Dental Corporation until they choose to focus on integrity and providing quality dental care prior to demanding fees. read more

Beware the greed and lack of ethics of this practice. While doing a root canal on my tooth, Dr. Knack broke a file in my tooth. He said he could not get the piece out and I would have to go to a Scottsdale endodontist to have it removed. (Greatly increasing the price to $3000) he offered no condolences or offers to cover for the cost, which was no fault of my own. He was laughing it up with his tech while I was in the chair dumbfounded. I had to go to the endodontist twice that day, because they couldn't take me right away when I first arrived. Over 4 months I reached out to the staff to talk with the business manager Andrew about having the office cover these extra fees. I never once received a call back and was referred to collections. I recently moved here to az in august from washington and i was really upset to find another dentist office because of how awesome they were back home. I found this place since it's pretty close to my house and they had decent reviews. Also side note, I take pretty good care of my teeth and have only had one cavity within the past five years. I have my first appointment with On Pointe and the front desk lady was really nice but definitely weird vibes with the main dentist. After they took a bunch of x-rays Dr Nack came in to tell me i had 6 CAVITIES!! this was absolutely insane to me so i had my dentist back home get the x-rays to tell me if this is really true. In fact i did not have 6 cavities... and NOT EVEN ONE. This office has lost all of my trust and i am extremely frustrated that they can get away with something like that to get some money. Requested an appointment through the online form on their website. I got a call back and when I explained our family's dental needs (anxiety surrounding sharp tools near face) the front desk manager Camille said they are not equipped to handle such cases. I find this odd considering your website specifies that you guys help people with dental anxiety. I also explained to her that we usually don't need full sedation but would rather have nitrous or something less invasive and she continued to emphasize that your office is incapable of handling a patient like this. We are simply looking for a new dentist because our last one switched hygienists and she was too rough. The whole conversation felt like they just didn't want our business for any reason at all. If you don't want new patients you should just say that, my family and I will gladly keep looking for the right dentist to spend our money at. Get better customer service staff! read more

I have been coming to this practice for over 50 years - been through 3-4 dentists in/out here and really liked them all. When I came here in September for my 6 month check-up I was stunned to find out that Dr. Tom Nack was no longer practicing there! I received no prior notification that he had left for another practice. Needless to say, I had to go ahead and have my check-up with a Dr. Mrinal Bhatt who I was not impressed with and honestly could not understand her. I also had a new hygienist who was ok but I preferred my regular one, who was also gone. Amazing that a tooth that Dr. Nack had been watching for a while all of a sudden needs a filling and a crown! And the hygienist said my gums were bleeding between two teeth - odd, I use the gum picks, floss and brush faithfully and have not had any bleeding. I am extremely disappointed that I was not given any notice about the changes in the dentists, as much as I like and trust Dr. Nack I found this very unprofessional. Now, I either continue with a practice I'm not fond of, find a new dentist or just stop going and if I have a problem I'll deal with it then. Called and specifically stated I need a tooth retreated and endo work done. Staff on the phone said they do that. I go in, and they gave me an x-ray, billed my insurance, and wrote a referral saying we don't do that work here. The office staff is well trained in sucking every dollar from your insurance. Nice and kind to greet you, but they just see dollar signs. They wasted valuable time and benefits while I was suffering in pain and delayed me seeing the right doctor and cost me hundreds of dollars. Would never recommend. read more

I thought about whether or not to write anything. I visited recently and it's safe to say I will never be returning. The place itself is nice and the visit was easy to set up. The initial appointment they want about 3 or so hrs. They take so many different x-rays and images of your teeth it seems kind of like overkill. The hygienist recommended treatments and things that set of red flags. As someone who does not have any significant medical history I was shocked that she would recommend things like an oral cancer screening for extra money. The dentist herself seemed ok. She maybe spent 15 minutes of the appointment with me. Overall it was a wasted day with attempts at overselling services that are not needed. I'm disappointed that they have so many great reviews on multiple sites. I hope their other patients that are dropping lots of $$$ get second and maybe third opinions... read more

I've been a patient of this dentistry for years. Staff and physicians are amazing! The physicians all take care and time to explain and offer suggestions/options when extensive work is needed. They are all wonderful. The last time I was there (Friday, November 10, 2023) I saw Dr. Nack. He is truly amazing. As much as I dreaded this appointment and the anesthetic, he made it all worthwhile. So glad I went and had the work done because with his expertise, it was a breeze. Best part, he's a great singer and sung a few lines as the relaxing, background music played. I will start by saying I've always struggled with being comfortable in the dentist chair. So much so I avoided the dentist chair like the plague and hadn't seen one in at least 8 years after having had a horrific experience in the dentist chair as a kid. Now, at age 34, this sort of neglect of course has yeilded many failed and decaying teeth in my mouth and a closed mouth smile. In the past, everytime I got the courage to go see a dentist and finally get a handle on my oral health, my motivation was quickly snuffed out by the dentist bararting me about the years of neglect, one even came out and asked how long I had done Meth. (NEVER IN MY LIFE!). All this followed by handing me a astronomical quote to get things back in order. Talk about sucking the wind out of your sails. Two weeks ago, I woke up with a golf ball in my cheek from an infected tooth and once again decided I was over playing tooth pain roulette. I made an urgent appointment at Onpoint dentistry. Dr. Kode and the amazing team there completely broke step with what I had come to expect seeing a new dentist for the first time. Dr. Kode and the team were nothing short of compassionate, friendly, welcoming and understanding! I wasn't ever once made to feel guilty or fearful of the work that needed to be done. Dr. Kode formulated a plan of attack to bring order from chaos in my mouth. They prescribed antibiotics, and we decided on a date to make it happen. That was yesterday morning. Having now finally come off the pain meds and rinsed my mouth im blown away by what was accomplished in the 4 hours I was sedated in the chair. WOW! Only go to this dental practice if you want to be lied to and decieved. They will purposefully not run a predetermination through your insurance. They will happily show you estimates they know are wrong to misslead you into agreeing to expensive treatments they KNOW are not covered by insurance. Dr. Nack is very personable but a very heavy handed dentist you feel everything he does in your mouth. Please spare your self the aggravation and unnecessary expense. read more

I tried out this dental office which is close to home in Moon Valley after experiencing some major tooth pain. As a new patient, I was worked into their schedule quickly and now after several visits I can't say enough about how positive my experience has been and how great the people are at On Pointe at 7th St and T'bird. It was immediately clear that I needed a root canal - a first for me - and so having heard some daunting root canal stories from friends over the years I dreaded returning for the procedure a few days later. Dr. Kode and Sandy took very good care of me, explaining the process thoroughly and putting me at ease. The procedure went quickly and was honestly painless thanks to very effective local anesthesia from the start. This team was highly skilled, very experienced, and caring. Everyone I have met at this office has been very professional with a down-to-earth and personable communication style. Wow, I had another dentist that I wasn't happy with. I had gum problems that were not getting addressed. I came here, as a referral from a friend, and they spent 2 hours with me. They wanted to thoroughly investigate what the problem areas were and answer all the questions that I had. Dr. Nack addressed all the questions I had and put me on a treatment schedule. Every visit the cleaning and care is very good. Afterward however I receive bills for services like fluoride treatment I did not receive. On my last visit I thought I had a missing filling. I was informed instead I had 2 cracked teeth and needed 2 crowns at nearly $3500 with a deductible of $1350. I got a second opinion informing me it was 2 leaking fillings which were filled with a deducible of $125. On a prior visit I was told I needed an implant at over $5000 after an attempt to retreat a root canal failed. Again a second opinion said it was not needed. I believe the dentist is over charging and suggesting treatments that are not needed and over priced. I will not be returning. Instead I switched to Desert smiles. They are much more affordable and Honest I feel. read more

Money making business. They suggest treatment that you don't need and don't check with your insurance prior to starting anything. Then you get stuck with a nice fat bill that you have to pay. Have yet to see so much time spent on dental cleaning and then sticking you with unnecessary charges. Be prepared to be there 3 or 4 hours at least. read more

I've come to this office for dental care since 2003; first with Dr. Zimmerman, then with Dr. Nack (when Dr. Zimmerman retired in 2012.) I have been well-pleased with Dr. Nack - his "chair-side manner" is calm and reassuring, and he's very knowledgeable and capable (never had pain from a numbing injection!!! He's that good!) Patti has been managing the office professionally since I've been coming there - that's a comfort also. I've only had three dental hygienists over 18 years, and I think that speaks highly for their job satisfaction and my continuity of care. And yes, they will offer and/or suggest any number of service options - as this practice prides itself on staying on the cutting edge of the profession; but ultimately, its the responsibility of the patient to decide what services to accept. I never feel pressured, and can always get additional information if I have questions. read more

Absolutely horrendous dental care and professionalism. I wish I could give this hell hole a 0 score. Two weeks after a fairly routine cavity/crown procedure I still cannot eat due to the cuts in my mouth. And this care was supposeldy done under anxiety/pain procedures that I later found out added another $700 to insurance filing of almost $2000. Barbaric treatment, very unprofessional in describing my personal details and fees in front of a waiting room audience. For God sakes do yourself a favor and find another dentist who is at least competent and professional. read more

Before I made an appointment for a routine cleaning, I went in to make sure my insurance was in network, was told not to worry because everything was covered! Ok so made an appt. Did the initial check up, x rays and etc, etc. Doc told me I had cracked teeth and filling had to be changed, and prerio work needed also! Did the cleaning that same day and charged me for perio cleaning which I was not informed about which added more charges!!! Find out when I got the bill, they were out of network!!! Look No Further! Ever since our son was very little, he loved going to the Dentist and get his teeth cleaned. He would choose the Dentist over the Pediatrician any time of day. I used to be in the field for many years and taught our son how to take care of his teeth. Knock on wood, he has never had a cavity in his whole life and he is 13 years old now. This week we had to put Dr. Nack to the test when our son had to have 8 baby teeth removed, that were not even loose yet, so his permanent teeth could start coming in. We scheduled two visits this week to have his teeth taken out and Dr. Nack passed the test with flying colors both times! He is extremely gently and awesome with kids and adults for that matter! Our son never complained or had any issues at all. To be honest, I was a little worried that having some teeth removed would change our son's opinion about going to the Dentist but it did not. We are extremely grateful and appreciate the way Dr. Nack and his Staff treated us but more so our son. Our son never even felt or saw any injections coming his way until it was over. Dr. Nack's way of distraction and technique administering the anesthetic was superb! He also had to split some of his baby teeth and none of the noise or vibration of the drill made our son feel frightened or uncomfortable at all. After each visit we also received a personal follow up call from him which made us feel very special. It's a nice touch that a lot of other places don't do and if they do, it's just their Front Office Staff checking in. I truly believe this is the best Dental Office! Perfect for a dental phobic who is ready to have a great experience or if you have children that need work done but you don't know where to go and who to trust. Well, look no further. I've been coming here for seven months now and could not have ever in my life been happier with my decision. Dr. Nack is an over the top dentist with an amazingly hilarious personality too. His critical attention to his patients care and comfort is something to truly brag about especially since I have the largest fears of the dentist and tooth pain is the worst! I have been treated like a vip and priority patient every time I have come in there and I rave about this doctor to everyone I know!
