My wife and my own experiences are always the same......easy, friendly, extremely thorough and competent professional treatment. They always try to make schedules as convenient as they can, the staff is a pleasure to interact with, and the facilities are comfortable. I hate needles, since I tend to become a pin cushion when I need hospital care. So I was super anxious coming in for a deep cleaning. But it went really well since they used a topical numbing solution first and my teeth haven't been this clean in years. Easier to floss too. Great instructions during cleaning and after. read more

Pearl Dental, Dr. James F. Myers, and his wonder staff of dental assistants and front office staff have always been outstanding in terms of dental service delivery in the several years of my visitations. Due to the neglect of my oral health during several years of ongoing chemotherapy to treat follicular lymphoma, I regularly lost several teeth. After extraction of Tth/Quad 3 and 6 by an oral surgeon, I waited the mandatory thirty days to begin restorative dental work at Pearl Dental and Dr. James F. Myers. I had received approval from Delta Dental to have extensive dental restoration, including porcelain fused crowns, pontic-porcelain fused to nobl, seat bridge, seat crown, and other necessary restorative dental work on tooth numbers 2,3,12, 13, and 14. Furthermore, after devoting a large amount of time contacting Delta Dental, and after receiving an initial denial of service described above, the request for services was overturned and the dental restorative work was finally approved. Shortly after making the appointment with Pearl Dental and their wonderful front office staff, I received a phone call from Dr. Myers. Initially, he provided me with two options, the first a very expensive and very lengthy procedure, and the other option was unattractive to me. Dr. Myers continued, letting me know that he could not move forward due to the risks involved, pertaining to the approved Delta Dental treatment plan. After letting him know how disappointed I was, and how much I had looked forward to finally having those large gaps in my upper left and right bitewing filled with bridges and crowns, and upon further study of my mouth ex-rays, Dr. Myers arrived at a viable solution, involving restorative dental work on both my left and right bitewing; a solution in which he was comfortable performing based on his extensive professional clinical dental experience and expertise. Perhaps above all else, Dr. Myers demonstrated a very high degree of compassion regarding my specific situation, including being a follicular lymphoma patient, a blood disease with no cure. Indeed, I believe other dentists would have turned me away from a dental clinical standpoint. I just completed my first of three visits this morning, and am looking forward to the completion of the treatment plan items discussed above. In conclusion, I highly recommend Dr. James, F. Myers and his expert and compassionate staff to anyone who requires complex dental work, or those who are committed to maintaining good dental health. Thanks for reading. In the entire field of healthcare, hardly any routine doctor visit could be called pleasant, or fun, particularly, when seeing a dentist. As a patient, having someone work in your mouth for 30 minutes or more is never going to qualify as a good time. (It's hard for the dental staff too, by the way.) But preventative healthcare is beneficial and vital, no matter how inconvenient or uncomfortable. Pearl Dental (in Phoenix) came to us through a friend's referral. We did a lot of homework and finally decided to make appointments. We weren't disappointed. From the moment you "check-in" at the front reception, see the dental hygienist, and ultimately the doctor, you know you're in very capable hands with people that are genuinely happy you're there! My initial "check up" as a new patient took a full 90 minutes and was diagnostically (via digital imaging) thorough and painless. Mariah, the dental hygienist, explained each procedure and how they would be used. Lastly, I had a visit with Dr. Dena Myers. This is a family practice, a husband and wife, and not a dispassionate corporate entity. She answered any of my remaining questions very precisely yet completely understandable. I say this a lot in my reviews: "You can't teach people to like people. It's a behavior, and not something that can be trained." Pearl Dental has a seamless and authentic "smile" throughout their office, and is so welcoming, even neighborly, it's like being with family. Wow! This is an amazing office that I would highly recommend. From the receptionist, to the hygienist, to their Dentists, all were extremely personable, dedicated, and knowledgeable. I've never been to an office that made me feel like I've been going there for 20 years. As I walk in they greet me by name and let me know I've been checked in. The hygienist Taylor greets me and takes me back for a cleaning. She is extremely friendly and as we chit chat she starts getting ready. Then, she talks through what she is doing, rather than just "open up" haha. Dr Dana Myers is phenomenal, she doesn't just walk in to check my teeth, she talks to me like a family member, and even more, talks to my daughter, who isn't a patient but has to wait for me, about school, weather, etc. I wouldn't go any place else, because after going here, it made me realize that I set the bar way too low at my other dentists.
