The ladies working the front desk are awesome and the nurses seem great but the doctor (the one shown in the picture on the right) is so rude and unprofessional. He denied a parent being in the room despite the patient being a minor who has had recent trauma. He told the parent "my way or the highway" and then kicked the two out because he couldn't provide the best care under pressure. He was extremely unprofessional and down right rude. read more

Really horrible dentist. The first time I came here, it was a Sunday and just had a sharp edge on one of my teeth that needed to be drilled down. The Sunday dentist was nice and friendly so I came back when I had an emergency with a temporary tooth. Unfortunately Dr Espinoza that owns the place is highly unqualified. I've never had my wisdom teeth out but have had 8 other teeth pulled due to multiple rounds of orthodontics. But he wanted to tell me that I didn't have any wisdom teeth. He then proceeded to ask me about 10 times why I hadn't had my teeth fixed yet. All the while his front desk team was chomping at the but to try to have me finish my full mouth restoration with them. You could see dollar signs in their eyes. Bottom line, on the second visit here, they were happy to take my $65 and basically do nothing to help me. I nearly ran out of this place. If you need dental help or have an emergency, do yourself a favor and find a real dentist. read more

My family started going here in July 2024. Every appointment there was some new policy that was implemented that caused issues with scheduling, insurance, and other issues in general. First of all, wait times are about an hour to be seen. My husband and I both had to get "deep cleanings" done and the hygienist was very nice. I was told that I also had 13 cavities that needed to be filled and to keep coming every 4 months for a check up, especially after the deep cleaning. My husband was told he had 2 cavities by a different dentist than I had and they got his done right away. Fast forward to our first check up, we were then told that they no longer accept our insurance and we just need to sign forms and pay out of pocket, then to get reimbursed. I walked out and eventually made an appointment at a new dentist. I was immediately sent to a gum specialist because of bleeding issues that were never addressed by Smilemax 365, I have "only" 8 cavities, but one of them is so bad that I need a crown, and I was never told of the severity of my cavities, I was never shown anything at Smilemax 365. And for my husband? His two fillings he got done around August/September 2024 are cracked and failing... and now have to be redone at the new dentist. This place is a joke and you're treated like another ticket in line, horrible service, even worse ethics and morals. Don't go here. read more

They pull the teeth and then inform me they will be requiring 5000 down in cash and only 3200 to insurance. The day of my eval the dentist was Chastising a new hire on her body mechanics during training. It was so loud everyone could hear and pretty sure felt bad for her. I do not recommend this place to you, be prepared to be waiting to be seen, Mark Espinosa likes to overwork his workers or should I say temp people he has to pay cause he can not keep a regular employee to last long. He has a trust issue and does not care how you feel or patients if he runs them out of there. He may have a clean place but doesn't have a positive vibe in the office. Be careful when doing financial and you decide to back away, they will charge you a 20% administrative fee for not doing treatment. It's okay as an emergency but not as a regular patient. Second time we came back they claimed my boyfriend didn't have insurance and we're trying to get us to pay 10x what we were quoted. I just want to say my experience at smile max 365 was excellent-I would give it 15 star if I could. I really enjoyed Darla and Heather and staff- They were kind, very customer oriented. The facility is very clean and modern. My treatment was explained thorough and so I could understand my post op care. It was easy to get a appointment and I was seen promptly. They open 7 days a week, what a refreshing change from stuffy old school dental offices. I work M-F from 8-4 so its hard to find a dentist that if open after 4 pm. The staff was knowledgeable, honest and dependable. DR Ghorbani is fantastic ,he extracted my bad tooth with little or no pain. I had no post surgery complications. I would recommend this doctor to anyone, he's a gem- he cares and is very skilled. I will be a patient forever. Ps the prices are very fair. read more

Beware ... While traveling I experienced tremendous pain and ended up in the ER up in Sedona. I called Smile Max and spoke to a lovely receptionist and explained my pain and that I needed to see someone immediately. She said they could get me in the following day (Saturday) and that "they would fix my problem". My fiancé and I drove straight from Sedona, to Phoenix for my appointment the next day and when we arrived I was told that I owed $65 for the "consultation". I've never paid in advance for an appointment and I was confused by her word "consultation" but I paid. Once I got in the assistant took X-rays and I had to be numbed because the pain was so unbearable (my tooth, not her x-rays). We waited for Dr. Espinosa. He came i after 20 minutes, looked at my mouth, asked me where it hurt, and then said I had the wrong tooth. He immediately said I needed a root canal and then said they could schedule it for the following Monday. Obviously our visit was over. He walked us out to the reception area and turned us over to the appointment gal. In order to schedule the appointment they wanted the full amount for the "root canal" close to $1,300.00 ... to which I balked. I've NEVER paid upfront for any procedure at any doctor or dentist, anywhere. Then she said she could hold my appointment for $500.00. I wasn't happy about that either. Finally she agreed the $250.00 would be okay. I made sure that that amount was going to be refundable, because I wanted to think about the next steps, and not be pressured. Horrible pain, and no solution, is not how I thought I'd leave this office!! Besides I was leaving town on Monday, and was supposed to fly after having a "root canal" earlier that day? Ouch!!! The next day I decided that it would be best for me to get my tooth looked at by my dentist at home, and so I called to cancel the appointment and get my refund. Thankfully, I did receive my refund, but I had to get firm with the receptionist after she told me it could take a few hours for the gal to call me back and process the refund. The next day, Sunday, I realized that I paid for my x-rays, taken during the consultation, so I called to have them sent to my dentist in Massachusetts. Of course they'd be happy to send them for a THIRTY FIVE DOLLAR fee. Oy!!!! I have NEVER, in my life, paid to have MY records mailed, or emailed, to another doctor or dentist. This place is NUTS! We got in the car, drove back to this office and filled out the paperwork, included all of the information requested and paid the damn $35.00. I was told they would send out the information, to my dentist, in 2 to 3 days! I have called on several occasions, at different times, and the phones went to an automated system and that they could not take a call. I have left 2 messages specifically asking them to confirm that the records were sent, and when they were sent. And yet, not ONE returned was made to me. 13 days later, they had never sent my x-rays!!!! Today I called the office, this time getting an answer, and Matthew was extremely helpful. He pulled up my records, apologized that they were never sent, and he finally sent them to my dentist and me. It took him 10 minutes to accomplish what the gals told me would take 2 -3 days!!! (Mind you my appointment was last week, but at least I have my x-rays now!) The business practices here are horrible! It's all glass and glimmer, but underneath the surface, I believe they are scamming people. By the way, my dentist here is sending me to an oral surgeon, to verify what is going on, because he's not 100% that I do need a root canal. I'll find out more this week. I'm grateful that I trusted my gut, and didn't buy into the pressure tactics here. DR. Darius Halliday is amazing. I don't usually do reviews in Yelp unless someplace is just terrible, but not today. My son has a horrible infection in his gums and in tremendous pain. We went to a different dentist four days ago but he really didn't help much. Dr. Halliday took one look and knew exactly what it was. The receptionist was kind and helpful, but Dr. Halliday is the star in that office. It should also be noted that after a week of pain he's feeling a lot better tonight. So many problems here. Overly aggressive treatment plan, and a procedure which was unnecessary, as confirmed by another dentist. The most egregious issue is that they opened a Greensky credit account for me and charged me for work they didn't do and are never going to do because the tooth has been extracted. They owe me around $2100 and they are refusing to credit my account. Good luck trying to get a hold of Cindy, who does billing. When she refused to return my calls, I went into the office and sat there for 90 minutes refusing to leave until she met with me. All she said was, "I'll see if I can give you a refund by the end of the month." That was in November. It's now January and still no refund. Charging patients for work not done is theft, pure and simple. Stay far away from this place. If you don't believe me, look up the reviews for their old office, but same story. Ernesto is a really good hygenist and did pain free cleaning and now I feel great. They are open 7 days a week 365 day per year from 7am to 7pm and yes, open on Christmas Day and you can get a basic check-up, cleanings or even major work done and in most cases, all in the same day! Not to forget, if you don't have dental insurance, they have plans that are low cost with great coverage to fit any budget. I went to this office, because it was close to home. I went for the free cleaning and exam. Two dentists told me my denture was too loose. I asked to have it relined and they said it couldn't be done. Then the "pressure" girl came in, gave me a price if I did it now,rudely, even by the owner dentist. I would get a discount, if I took out there insurance. So with pressure I did it. I went back 5 times to have it adjusted. After 3 months it cracked in half, They put in a mesh to hold it together and said normally they charge for mesh, but I wasn't charged extra. I went back several more times and was treated very rudely by the owner dentist. I showed them my 8 year denture compared to the new one. No comparison. Finally they refunded my money. The dentist is rude but filed a tooth down free of charge that caused me pain. I have great dental insurance and me and the admin lady worked out a payment plan. He said I had NO infection, NO tooth decay, and NO need for a root canal. (I did not tell him the diagnosis of the SmileMax dentist); I did need a core build up and a crown. After another half hour I told them I had to leave so they said they would call me when she got off the phone. Hygienist was still apologizing to me as I left OTHER DENTAL GROUP Girl brought me an itemized cost for the procedures I needed while I was still sitting in the dental chair after full examination and prior to treatment. SMILEMAX 365 Kept me there for 3 hours; I left with the broken tooth untreated and no idea what it would cost to fix it or when OTHER DENTAL GROUP I was there and out within an hour and a half with my tooth fixed when I left SMILEMAX 365 Waited 4 and a half hours more (including a call in to them after 2 hours) for a call to get the cost and make my next appointment to fix my tooth At 4:30 I got a call from someone who tried to push additional procedures such as deep cleanings, saying the doctor wanted these done before he'd address my broken tooth. I arrived early to fill out the paperwork, they took me back 10 minutes past my appointment time (I sat in the waiting room) and once back waited another 10 minutes before they took X-rays. Once they were done I sat alone in the chair for another 10 minutes, until the Dentist showed up. He was there for 10 minutes, then I sat for another 20 minutes alone again. So far 50 minutes of waiting, and only spent 15 minutes with the staff but not the hygentist! This isn't my first time here, I spent 18 months in braces and had the same waiting experience and thought the new office and new staff would be better, but it isn't. I will not be going back, and will never recommend this dentist or office to anyone. read more
