The name doesn't lie. On Point Pizza occupies an unassuming corner of a strip mall, but it's precisely this lack of pretension that makes discovering it feel like locating buried treasure. Inside, the checkered floor, exposed brick, and modest seating area--just three wooden tables with industrial-style chairs--create an atmosphere that's both nostalgic and contemporary. This is primarily a takeout spot, though the small dining area fills a crucial need for those moments when the aroma of a fresh slice overwhelms your intention to make it home before eating. During my visit, a constant stream of customers filtered through, some grabbing slices to go, others settling in at the limited seating for a quick bite. Despite the constant flow, the staff maintained their happiness to meet and serve you their best pizzas. What immediately distinguishes On Point from countless other slice shops is their dual specialty: traditional thin crust alongside authentic Detroit-style pizza. The latter deserves special attention, as finding proper Detroit-style in Rhode Island can be a challenge, despite a few notable Providence locations. But this is Narragansett, and their version features that quintessential focaccia-like crust with an airy interior, encased by edges of caramelized cheese--that signature crispy, lacy perimeter that Detroit pizza aficionados crave. As is often the case when I visit a pizza place that offers both slices and full pies, I ordered a pepperoni slice from the display case as an appetizer while waiting for my full Detroit-style pepperoni pizza to bake. The regular slice was a revelation - surprisingly sturdy and crisp, standing straight out without drooping, yet maintaining an airy interior. Despite my usual skepticism about reheated slices, this one defied expectations - crunchy, flavorful, and satisfying in a way that made me reconsider my bias against display case pizza. The balance of the sauce was perfect, threading the needle between acidity, sweetness, and salt with remarkable precision. But even with this excellent slice, it was the Detroit-style pizza that truly showcased their craftsmanship. The Detroit pie arrived on a metal tray like a beautiful mistake from an industrial kitchen--a rectangular canvas where dough, cheese and meat conspired to create something greater than their parts. The edges had blackened into that unmistakable Detroit-style perimeter, where cheese meets high heat and transforms into something primally satisfying--a dark, crunchy boundary between hunger and pizza inspired bliss. Each pepperoni had curled into its own perfect reservoir of spicy oil, flavor pockets, scattered across the landscape. The substantial height of the crust--easily an inch and a half--revealed slow fermentation and proper respect for the dough. You could see the structural integrity that separates tourist pizza from the real thing. The cheese--whatever blend they've perfected here--stretched between slices with deliberate resistance, offering that perfect combination of pull and release that marks exceptional pizza. The sauce, applied in strategic stripes rather than smothered across the surface, delivered acid and sweetness in measured bursts. This isn't pizza trying to be sophisticated or reimagined--it's pizza that knows exactly what it is: a working-class masterpiece built on generations of Midwestern pragmatism. What strikes me most about On Point Pizza is how they've managed to excel at multiple styles without sacrificing quality in either. Many pizzerias spread themselves too thin trying to accommodate every possible variation, but here, the focus remains tight: they do traditional pies and Detroit-style, and they do both exceptionally well. The service matches the food--unpretentious, efficient, and genuinely friendly. As pizza culture continues its renaissance across America, with regional styles gaining long-overdue appreciation, places like On Point Pizza represent the new wave well--honoring tradition while ensuring these specialized techniques reach new audiences. They've created a space where the curious can sample authentic Detroit-style pizza alongside classic thin crust, all without the intimidation factor that sometimes accompanies more upscale pizza spots. Strip mall location notwithstanding--or perhaps because of it--On Point Pizza delivers an experience that feels both accessible and special. It's exactly the kind of place you want in your neighborhood: reliable enough for everyday cravings, and skilled enough to impress visitors from out of town. Sometimes the most satisfying food experiences aren't found in glossy downtown spots, but in the places you least expect them--like a modest pizza shop in a strip mall, quietly turning out some of the best Detroit-style pizza you'll find outside the Motor City.

We finally made it back to On Point Pizza. We ordered a Ron Swanson this time and we were not disappointed! It was amazing and the hot honey was such a great idea. The service was friendly when we picked up our pizza. Ordering online was easy and we didn't have any issues. Our food was ready a bit earlier than expected, so no issues with wait times at all. The inside is small, but there is room to eat in if desired. If you haven't been in yet, please give them a shot. We can't wait to go back!!

First time visiting this pizza place and wil not be the last. I Got a large cheese and bacon pizza. Pizza was yummy. Prices were fair and staff was friendly. Also grabbed a cream soda and that was delicious too.

Small little pizza joint that in plaza that serves delicious Detroit style pizza! I got ronni, hot honey, basil and ricotta cheese on mine. The pizza it self was very light and airy with good crunch and tasty sauce. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also have New York style pizza by the slice if you want something quick! The inside is pretty tiny with a couple tables if you'd like to sit down and enjoy your pizza!

Been dying to try this place's Detroit style pizza after hearing raving reviews! And wow was it a knockout! The crust, topping, and sauce ratio was superb. I can't find deep dish pizzas around here and this was as close as it'll get!! Delish! The large pepperoni was also perfection. The crust had such good texture and buttery flavor. I usually throw out the crusts at other pizza places - but not here!! Gobbled every crust right up. Their menu has soo many specialty pizzas I want to try and after how good these were, I truly can't wait! Try this place. For sure a new favorite pizza spot!

Stopped here for a quick lunch on the way to the beach. We got two slices of cheese pizza and 1 slice of cali bbq. Service was quick and friendly. The pizza slices were filling. Great for a quick meal stop.

Fantastic customer service. Got a Detroit with pepperoni and ricotta and a NY General Tso Chicken. Will definitely swing by again when I am in the area.

Having heard so much about this place, I feared it wouldn't live up to the hype. I worried for nothing! Just a small place with seating for 15-20 and a self-serve drink cooler (no booze), it's mostly a take out business. It's clean and staff is friendly. We try ok a few minutes t look very the menu - there were some interesting choices! We decided to share the Loaded Fry pie because it sounded fun! It didn't disappoint! The crust was perfectly crispy, even in the center (it was a large pie). The toppings covered nearly the entire pie, with just enough crust left to enjoy, at the end of each slice. The cheese sauce was nicely balanced with the regular cheese. The bacon was generous. I expected a few more actual French fries, but it was really good just the same. Freshly sliced green onion garnish was a nice touch and it was served with two sides of Ranch. Delicious! We're planning to return very soon to try another - maybe the Detroit style, which has received great reviews. Also, they had several kinds of pizza available by the slice!

We go to Narragansett, RI for a family vacation every summer. We have our favorite seafood restaurants for dine in or take out. We love seafood but sometimes it is nice to order something else. This year we discovered a close by pizza place that had just opened. What a find! We are from New York, so we know good pizza. You can not fool us. We are here for two weeks, and we have already ordered from On Point four times. The thin crust pizzas are delicious! And my SIL talked to the friendly owner who told him about the Detroit Style Pizzas that would be available soon. The pans for them were being seasoned. We hope to get some before the end of the week when we return to upstate NY. Highlights: The Big Mac Pizza was a HIT. I made a face when I heard it was ordered, but I was a fan after a slice. The flavors are outstanding: Thousand Island Dressing, beef, chopped onion, cheese, and PICKLES. Who would have thought you could capture the essence of a BiG Mac with a pizza. Salads -- The Chopped Pasta Salad was also a crowd pleaser. Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, Gorgonzola, chicken, bacon, and chopped pasta with balsamic vinaigrette. We also enjoyed the Mediterranean Salad with included Kalamata olives and feta. The cheesey garlic breadsticks were amazing! They are baked in a square pan. The texture was very good: crispy on outside and quality soft bread on inside. The Calzones with marinara on the side were excellent as well. One of the drinks available is Kombucha. Cool. Staff is customer focused, efficient, and knowledgeable.

My husband's noodle dish was very salty...something to keep in mind...the good thing was that the noodles were soba, so they were mostly buckwheat flour, which is better for you. Overall a nice relaxing dinner and our server was very good, and prompt.
