By a long shot, this is my favorite store in Columbus. I even make special 1.5 hour road trips down here just to check the store out. I don't know why I don't just buy one of everything in one visit. If you're a fan of retro, analog, or just doing things the somewhat old-fashioned way, this could be your spot too. With a plentiful selection of pens, including fountain pens, and ink, the act of writing itself becomes enjoyable. More of a typist? They now have some stylish typewriters for any aspiring journalist, novelist, or Wes Anderson film recreationist. All this fails still to mention the vast selection of cards, postcards, stationery, and myriad assortment of desk knick-knacks. They sell stamps - you can come buy, write, and mail a road trip greeting all in one stop. Custom return address stamps and stickers are available, in addition to custom letters and occasion cards. Prices are what I'm willing to pay, but may be high to the non-hobbyist. Staff has always been friendly and has even come to remember me well after many visits.

This cute little store on the Short North strip is the ultimate trap for artists like me and my friends! We came to look for one thing and guess what bought twenty other things... smh. Paper, stamps, wax, inks... and a TON of STATIONARY things! You can find unique cards, wrapping papers and many calligraphy pens. I got help from one of the workers about a fountain pen and when he did not know the schematics, he took my number for the owner to call back! How cool is that? It's a nice place to stop by and search for gifts! 5 stars!

An adorable and aesthetically pleasing stationary stop that will appeal to fans of Paper Source. I loved their wax seal station and couldn't resist some navy wax sticks and calligraphy pens. A good spot for gifts and invitations!

On Paper is a really cool, paper shop in the Short North area of Columbus. I'm a huge fan of cards and mail and fell in love with this store the second I walked in the door. If you're looking for unique cards, maps, journals or gifts, this is the shop for you. During my recent visit I purchased this taco platter (see picture) and am excited to host a fiesta so that I can use it! There were dozens of things I wanted to buy and not enough time in the day to fully explore this small shop. I definitely plan on making On Paper a regular stop during my visits to Columbus.

The Ohio Christmas cards from On Paper! Awesome cards!

I brought some Ohio Christmas cards online from "On Paper", and they came to me super fast. They where packed really well. When I opened the box and saw the cards I was so surprised to see that they looked way more awesome in real life. They are super vibrant and great quality. The price was good for the quality of the cards. I'm just so happy with the product and service. I would definitely recommend them to everyone and buy more. Thank you On Paper so much for your great items , speedy shipping and wonder customer service. I will be back for sure!

Yelp told me that the Columbus Axe Throwing place, where the event was being held, was next to The Continent. What is The Continent you ask? Well it's an appropriately named apartment complex, or quite possibly a small village, the size of a medium continent. We drove around this multi-neon-colored buildings for a solid 38 minutes looking for this place. Weaving around multiple (multiple!) nightclubs, the french quarter (WTAF), and what appeared to be an abandoned theater ... I was determined to browse overpriced homemade soaps, tiny pop tart pins, sarcastic baby onesies and handmade cards. DETERMINED. Yelp failed to mention that the only way to find this place was to drive through a tunnel into the depths of The Continent where you quite possibly only have a 97% chance of returning alive. But alas we found it ...and the postcard sized sign on the door. Once inside we wandered around looking for the craft fair, passing abandoned furniture, squeezing between the nets behind the batting cages, carefully passing under falling ceiling tiles until we finally reached the Craftin Outlaws sign. It was practically glowing, we made it ! It was all worth it! Spoiler Alert: Nope. There were literally 6 tiny booths of crafts. There were no other customers. Likely because no one else was willing to risk their lives or spend 45 minutes in pursuit of crafts of the outlaw variety. I browsed the crafts for 90 seconds. I haven't been this disappointed since the 2016 World Series and the 2016 election, in that order. Everything about this event was wrong with the exception of the blue slushy I got in the way out the door. Although I'm still drinking it and wouldn't be surprised if the lid fell off, spilling electric blue sludge all over my lap. The LITERAL (blue) cherry on top of the worst 46 minutes of my life.

YE Gurl Says: Craft Raccoon Is Where Creativity (and Second Chances) Meet…read more Back in January 2026, I remember flipping through 614 Magazine and seeing their "Treasure in the Trash" article featuring Rachel Wallis, the owner of Craft Raccoon. At the time, I had no idea a few months later I'd actually be sitting inside the shop with a needle and thread. Funny how things circle back. After taking a sewing class through the Fashion Institute, I ended up connecting with a group of cool women who were equally interested in learning how to make and mend our own clothes. Our instructor suggested we check out a mending class at Craft Raccoon -- and that's how we ended up there. The shop itself is nicely sized and packed with craft supplies -- and here's the twist: much of it is donated and either free or very low cost. It immediately reminded me of creative reuse spaces I've seen in Chicago, which makes sense because Rachel visited a similar concept there and brought the idea back to Columbus. That kind of cross-pollination of ideas seems to happen a lot here in Columbus -- people bringing inspiration from other cities or countries and building something new locally. Honestly? For some ideas, that's a trend worth keeping. Our class was intimate and hands-on. One of the instructors helped my friend finish a reversible bag project while I got practical help fixing a few wardrobe mishaps. First up: a cardigan I had just bought from the now-closed Pivot Boutique. Turns out it had a loose button and three small holes that no one noticed before I purchased it. The instructor showed me exactly how to mend them properly. Next up: hemming a pair of faux leather cargo pants from Naked Wardrobe. Their pieces are typically cut for someone around 5'9", which... is not my situation. Problem solved with a quick hem lesson. By the end of the session we walked away with: * new mending skills * a few good laughs * great conversation with the instructor * and a deeper appreciation for the mission behind Craft Raccoon The shop itself is still fairly new but already offers a wide range of classes -- things like: * circle skirts * aprons * quilted jackets * pajama pants * quilting projects YE Gurl Says: Craft Raccoon is part creative studio, part sustainability hub, and part community classroom. If you've ever wanted to learn how to mend, sew, or simply be less wasteful with your clothes, this is a great place to start. Sometimes the best fashion upgrade isn't buying something new -- it's learning how to fix what you already have.

Do you ever go somewhere and find that you can't stop telling people about it?…read more This is that place. When JoAnn closed (RIP), I figured I'd just buy crafting supplies online but it's been surprisingly difficult to find materials and even harder to buy them sight unseen. Craft Raccoon is like JoAnn's but better priced and you can actually feel good about shopping there because everything you buy is reused and saved from landing in a landfill. Plus, the owner of the store is so kind and helpful. I've learned a lot just through shopping there. But if you want to learn more, they also have really fun classes - like how to sew a fish bag or a class on spinning (i.e., turning wool into thread). Go check it out! You'll be glad you did!
