they have parking right out front on the street and there is an elevator. I loved how they have fabric and yarn.

The shop was really nice and had a great vibe to it, everything was organized and great lighting. I brought in my broken duffel bag to ask for advice and materials to fix it, and the workers were very comprehensive and patient with questions. They recommended tools and materials perfect for the job, along with the best way to do and now my bag is fixed with some great colorful straps they recommended!

You can find Sew to Speak nestled away off in a tiny shopping plaza in Clintonville. It's an unassuming location for one of the hippest fabric shops in Columbus. They stock unique fabrics, patterns and books by the trendiest designers along with sewing machines, and accessories. They also offer in-store sewing space and classes for all skill levels. Given the current trend toward DIY home items and clothing, Sew to Speak is a huge asset for Columbus. You can stay ahead of the curve by buying super-cool fabric here and then letting the staff teach you how to make rad things with it!

I'm completely in LOVE!!! All the fabrics in here have a 60s Mod print. Floral, solids, simple designs... And I love the bold, bright colors!! I noticed several fat quarters I liked, also. Best part or this establishment? 60s music playing over the speakers!! I'm hooked :)

The staff never knows when the technician will be in, when the machine will be done, or if he has even looked at it yet. The technician says that he does one thing when it is evident that he has not. Multiple times I have brought my longarm machine home after being "cleaned" and "fixed" only to have the same issues. And I have clearly seen that the machine was not cleaned. I live an hour away and when I call to let them know that the issue was not fixed, the answer is "bring it back in" (2 hour round trip). Most recently, and the last straw, was after bringing my longarm in for a cleaning and being told that I was "first in line", there was no communication about the machine and when I would call, the shop tells me they don't know when he will be in and when he was last in. Then, a week later I called to check on the status of the machine and they say it is ready for pickup. When I got there, it was not ready, but he said I can "finish it" at home. After following his instructions, the machine still did not work properly. He then stated that it would need a $700 part (mind you, the machine was not even in the shop at that time). After spending hours on the phone with the HandiQuilter tech line, I decided I would need to find another dealer. The new dealer opened the machine up and it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years (he sent me pictures). The tech said he has never seen a machine that bad. So, it appeared that the $300 that Red Rooster required that I pay upfront for the machine "cleaning" never got done. I will not be going back and will never recommend this shop to anyone else.

They were closed so we went back this morning. I asked for any kits appropriate for a four year old, and one of the ladies told me to give her a second. She came back with scraps and said they were free so my daughter could find out if she liked it. And then if she did, she had more for my daughter to try. You just don't find this kind of kindness at many shops anymore, and I so appreciate their willingness to pass on their craft like this. I ended up buying some items for myself, and I'm excited to get back on my cross stitch journey while my daughter starts her own.

My sister, who is an avid cross stitcher, enjoyed perusing the shelves and looking at threads and patterns. One of the things my sister was very excited to find was hand-dyed backing and a beautiful pattern for a stained glass window. When she couldn't find something she was looking for, she asked for help and received it. The ladies working there were a little quirky, but I think that's to be expected in a cross stitch shop. We also enjoyed meeting Romeo, the beagle. He was very calm and just enjoyed some sniffs and pets before letting us shop.

Expect to spend at least another $500+ on materials which the class description never even hints at, even on things that you won't ever use again, or even need/open during the class such as a book and other supplies which will be pushed on you to buy, and then when you try to return at end of class because you didn't use/need them at all, they'll say it's non-refundable such as a $30 book that wasn't even opened once. Why can't they have a common supplies basket that students share during class if it's shareable, especially if you don't need it, or won't ever use again? Because they are out to extract as much $$$ from each student as possible. BEWARE of total cost of taking any class from this place, they are out to make as much $$$ as possible at the student's expense, even if end up not using/needing for the class. When tried to return at end of class bc clearly wasn't needed for the class, manager was extremely nasty in saying it's non refundable.
