So bought a low torque clock from this joke of a store called hobby lobby. Got it home, reviewed it with 3 stars due to play in one of the hands and after trying to put a battery on, a corner broke off. It still worked, but mentioned the quality as being what you get when China sells you items. Got an email stating my comment didn't meet their rules. So this company doesn't want you to know they sell Chinese junk. They lost my hundreds of $$$ i spend every year and will make sure I never recommend them to anyone. I've never shopped Michael's, but where I live, I would pass 3 or 4 hobby lobbies to get to Michael's from now on.​​ read more

Hobby Lobby tends to be my go-to for all things crafty... and I craft a lot so that's saying something. I've been to this specific location twice in the past week and I can see myself visiting more often. It's not particularly close to home but it's the closest location to me and it's doing the trick. Every Hobby Lobby is exactly the same, even the layout, and this one is no exception. It's located in a shopping complex and there is a giant parking lot out front. The seasonal stuff is on the right and all things floral can be found on the left. Everything from décor, to fabric, to knick knacks, and art supplies can be found somewhere in the middle. I generally visit for paint supplies and décor. I have several of their pictures hanging on my walls and I go through a lot of paint, brushes, canvasses, etc. I also really enjoy their seasonal items and party supplies. I can almost always find something fitting for the special occasion. This place always does a good job of getting you to think you're receiving a crazy good deal on things. This is especially true with the famous "forty percent off one item" deal that is offered on every visit. Let's be honest though, it sorta works. The customer service here is pretty on par with other locations I've been to. Depending on who you talk to, they can be really helpful or not so much. I spent 45 minutes in line on a Tuesday night. They only had two register lines open when I got in line and there was 25 people in each line. There were several other employees walking around the store but apparently customer service is not a priority in this location. When I got to the front I asked one of the "extra" people why they are not running a register. The said they are in framing. i will not be returning ever. read more

I have often purchase stuff online but never went to the store. I am so happy that I went to the store. It has so many wonderful things. I love all the pro American items for sale. I also enjoy being able to find mini faith based gifts. It's very neat and clean as well. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This is one of my new favorite places to shop. read more

Saturday I shopped at hobby lobby which is located 41 miles from my home. I grabbed the items that I fell so deeply in love with them placed them in my cart and headed for check out. I decided to pay by check the cashier asked me for my driver's license. She did proceeded to tell me that my address was not printed on my check so she wrote my address from my current driver's license on my check. She also wrote my date of birth along with my driver's license number on my check. She called for manager approval the manager comes over opens their manual read several pages from the manual then ask me for my phone number I wrote my phone number on the check. The manager asked me is this the right phone number. I assured her that all my information is current and correct she then called the store manager for approval. At this time I pulled out my cell phone and begin to record. Store manager Chris from Lima Ohio looks over my check pulls out the manual book again looks over several pages I hear him say is this a new check I insure Chris store manager that is an open account current and not a starter check he says because there's no address on the check but my name is clearly printed on the check. Then Chris the store manager begins to make another phone call to get approval on accepting my check.. Wow. I asked Chris what was the problem he is the store manager if he would just like to process the check it is an open account Chris says I don't know I just have to get it verified I asked Chris for my check back I left everything in the store total over $265 and I left the store filling Profiled and Humiliated. Both manager and store manager said that there was nothing in the handbook that prevented them from accepting a check with no address print it on but it's just something they never came across before. But keep in mind they just wrote my address from my current driver's license along with my phone number my birth date and driver license number all on my check... I love Christian people God is watching everything! I should never have to leave hobby lobby Lima Ohio feeling the way I felt. And when I call customer service Shelly made me feel just as bad as the people in Lima Ohio did! Before I even hung up the phone I was in tears the tone in her voice made me feel as if she did not give a damn! I asked for a phone call from the district manager. Shelly insured me that he or she will not return my call but she will put in a request. It has been 2 days now and I'm still waiting for a call... Got to love great customer service! SMH. All my friends told me they don't shop there because they feel that hobby lobby is racist!! Now I'm beginning to see the picture from what they were feeling! I've been on my job for several years make over $20 an hour you don't think I can afford almost $300 worth of merchandise?! so pathetic to judge someone based on the color or the way they look... There are hobby kits, puzzles, seasonal decorations and craft supplies, and a variety of knick knacks and fake plants in the center of the store. I loved everything about this shop! At first glance I thought it looked like Michael's, after few minutes in I realized that they can't even compare. There was so many different products they carried, I could have spent hours there and bought so much items. But I'm not from this area and my time was very limited. However, I did quickly check out almost the entire store. They had a very good selection on paintbrushes at very reasonable prices. Since that didn't require much room I did purchase some. They had very interesting furnishers, then I had to remind myself of the 14 hours drive back to Boston. They had all these funny signs, and great items for making scrap books. The aisles were very clean and the store was very tidy. I was ask few times by sales associates if I needed help finding an item. This is a big plus in any store. I just wish there was one of these stores in Boston area. I would defiantly check out this store next time I'm in this area. Loved this store!!! read more

If you are one of those people constantly whining about being "bored" (I really can't imagine it, honestly), then get thee to Hobby Lobby! Inspiration abounds, even just walking the isles. There's so much in this store. It's a good alternative to a lot of higher priced companies that may specialize in only one thing. For example, their decorative home organization containers are fab, and a fraction of the cost of the Container Store. I'd say a lot of the trickle-down budget home dec even rivals Home Goods. Want an isle of colored glass vessels? You got it! Dishes? Cake decorating? Model rockets? I could go on. As a quilter, one of the things in particular that I love is the selection of Kona Cotton solids. I don't buy fabric from JoAnn's (icky chemical smells and cheap roughness, off grain printing), but Kona is the perfect solid compliment to my high quality printed fabrics I buy from specialty sewing shops. Kona is a long-standing, trusted manufacturer and sometimes hard to find. I have to admit, though, that last time I went, I couldn't find any solid hemmed tea towels. They did have a lot of blank items to decorate (we got close with napkins, they also have Tshirts and tote bags, etc). I was also a little disappointed with their ribbon selection but ultimately found spools that would "do." My biggest gripe, however, is that Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays. It's a Christian-run company, which is neither here nor there for me, but Sunday is my hobbiest of days. JoAnn's and Michaels are nearby to scoop up the Sunday business. I've found the available staff to be slightly friendlier and ultimately more helpful at ferreting out my request than at Michaels or JoAnn's. In fact, if you can't fill your basic crafting needs with this little mile of Sawmill (Michael's, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby), then you have other, bigger issues. read more

I love Hobby Lobby. They seriously have everything, and I find that there prices are reasonable compared to JoAnn's or Michaels. Plus....I just like the selection better. The one thing that really threw me off was that they are not open on Sunday's. I find that really surprising for a retail store in this day-and-age. I had to knock them down a star for that, because it seriously limits the days that I can get there on my own. (not fun to look in a craft store with a toddler in tow)! I was in the store on Saturday for one specific shelf for my nursery. They were out of stock. I know from past experience, if you can get someone to help you (good luck) that they can specially order the item for you. I went up to an associate on the floor and asked her if she was able to help me get an item that was out of stock ordered. She had no clue what I was talking about and went to a 2nd woman. The 2nd woman insisted that I go grab the product off the shelf (it was less than 100 feet away) and BRING IT TO HER, so we could get the 6 digit code to order it. I explained to her that I couldn't possible get the product off the shelf to order it because it's out of stock, hence the reason I wanted to order it.....and if it was on the shelf we wouldn't have had this conversation. She continued to pick up a candle and show me where to find the 6 digit code on the back of the product...again - the product is not in stock. I asked her if she would walk over to the shelf, and she said "I just need the 6 digit code". At this point, I'm very upset because I've wasted about 8 minutes of my time (less than 100 feet away from the shelf) trying to explain to the woman that the product is NOT there to bring to her, and again asked her if she would walk over with me to show me which 6 digit code from the out of stock item I needed. She told me that I Needed to bring it to her. This really upset me - so I apologized for trying to have her do her job by helping me find a product that I wanted so badly for my baby's room. I walked up to the front to explain my situation and ask for assistance. They then told me they can't order it because it was on sale and the tag that I took a photo of doesn't give them the price and I would have to pay full price....which I wasn't doing (it's why I went in, while it was on sale). Needless to say I left the store fairly shaken (pregnancy hormones) and had a few tears by the way I was treated....not one of them were apologetic or offered any additional assistance. Hobby Lobby is supposed to be a Christian store where they pride themselves on excellent customer service - and this is the complete opposite of what I received. read more

I did not receive good customer service today when shopping in this store with my toddler and two older daughters. Not sure if it was because my son was throwing a fit and the staff were uncomfortable with that but I personally expect more from a Christian-centered establishment. Okay, okay hobbies are not just for retired men or women who have cats. This place has it all! Everything from holiday decor, home decor, scrap booking, wood work, painting, flowers, stationary, picture frames, party necessities, baking, sewing, hmmm yeah I could go on and on but I will not bore you with an infinite list. I do have one warning to all those who plan to stop in here... prepare to leave with WAY more then what you planned on getting. Never come in here to just shop because you will be leaving with an array of various and random stuff. I went to the Hobby Lobby near Stringtone Road in Columbus, Ohio and the two managers followed me around the store when I was shopping. I felt uncomfortable and so I dropped what I was going to get and went to leave. The male manager followed me to the front and the blocked exit so I was unable to leave, which is illegal, the accused me of stealing in front of the store and other customers at the checkout lane. He eventually made me show him my bag, before he would allow me to leave the premises. Which I believe is also illegal. I opened my shopping bag to show him that I literally only had my wallet and my phone in there and he responded aggressively and disrespectfully before walking away without an apology. read more

Lately I've been on a creative binge for some projects and have hit this store more times than I care to recount. They are not open on Sundays but that is no biggie. They do offer classes for different things and they have a pretty good variety of merchandise. I like them the most for their sales and coupons. You can get them online, in the newspapers, I think they have an app now even (not sure), and they accept competitors coupons. And periodically they have in store sales where almost everything seems like it's 50% off! They even have a pretty big fabric section for those who sew. They lost points with me because they did not have the kind of paper I needed and good grief the place is over run by silk flowers and other little odd decorative things. And they take returns only at one or two lanes so if you - like what happened to me - have to return something and are stuck behind someone with a "complicated" return.....even if the other lanes have nobody in them you can't use those lanes. The last several times I have visited this store the cashiers have tried to overcharge me. The sales are not in the computer, so the cashier must enter prices by hand. Cashiers are either ignorant of sales, or refuse to believe you when it is clearly signed and labeled. They have really cute stuff here but it is not worth the hassle. read more

My friend had been raving for months about what a cool shop hobby lobby is. As far as I know, there are none in my area, so when we drove by one on our trip to Ohio we had to check it out. From the outside it looks weird and I almost didn't want to go in. I normally dislike crafts stores, they aren't my thing at all. Hobby lobby was unlike all of the typical crafts stores like Joanns and micheals. We actually spent a long time browsing which I would normally never do at a crafts store. I found a bunch of funny stuff I would love to buy for a birthday party or my home. I especially liked the birthday gear they had with "caution old age ahead" printed on. I was able to take some cool Instagram photos at the store. I also loved the poster they had about dieting. They offer a coupon for 40% off of one item so make sure you get one on your phone. I love this place when they run sales on scrapbooking stuff and jewelry findings. It's always the best deal around. But there are so many things that detract stars for me.....sorry Hobby Lobby. I'll still shop here because the good deals are just too good. Here's what just gets me every time I come in here: 1)The fact that basically half of the entire store is devoted to oddball home decor and chotchkies. 2)The way that they prepare for holidays 7 months in advance. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but maybe not. There were aisles devoted to Christmas stuff in July. What's up with that? 3)The fact that I rarely ever see an employee if I need help finding something, and there are always 4 hovering around me asking me if I need help if I don't. 4)I have had more problems with items not being rung up correctly here than anywhere else, EVER. This is because items just have a price sticker on them, people have to key in the price and look at a sale chart to see how much to take off. I have had people tell me what I bought was not on sale, when there was a sign up on the wall plainly stating that it was actually on sale. I took the employee over to the sign, and she actually told me THE SIGN WAS WRONG but she'd give me the discount anyway. Um, okay. Also, asking a cashier to do a price check got a reaction similar to the scene in The Blues Brothers when they all started playing R&B in a country bar. Minus the beer bottle throwing, of course. In short, really good place to go for certain types of crafting supplies, customer service or lack therof really detract the stars. read more

This store has a ton of home decor, fabrics,pottery barn knock off and wedding stuff. I was really impressed with the fabric selection and artwork/pictures. It's can be a bit overwhelming but you can pretty much get anything for your home . The return policy is decent as well. Overall, good quality materials at a very reasonable price. read more
