This is the third Once Upon a Child store that I have visited in the Columbus area. It has a large selection just like Westerville and high quality standards in my opinion. The sizes were a little more mixed than I have experienced in the past (typically I will find a handful of sizes in the wrong spot, but this time I found about double that), but overall a very clean and organized store. They have toys, games, books, costumes, baby gear galore, shoes and clothing from infant to size 16 I believe. The staff all seemed to get along really well and were very kind and helpful. I have been in this store a few times and each time the employees have been miserable. Not a single smile. They seem to be inconvenienced that you come into the store. For a business that accepts trade ins, there often is a reason they can't take your item. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Went in to drop off a tote this morning and they said that they buy policy just updated TODAY and they are no longer accepting totes over 18 gallons but they will now take 2 totes instead of only 1. I asked if they could make an exception since I drove 40 minutes and the buy policy just changed TODAY but they refused. What's the difference of dropping off 1 large tote or 2 smaller ones if it equals out to the same amount of clothing. This is just absurd! The girl was really rude too, no care whatsoever. Other stores will get my business going forward. I recommend going to other stores for everyone wanting to buy or sell clothing and other items. read more

Been to other locations but not this one. Same setup: sell your stuff, get decent used stuff. Mostly clothes, some toys, some equipment like baby gates I think. Today we sold some baby clothes. Easy process. Probably not much money, but at least someone else can get some use out of them. Convenient location between Kroger and Piada (map took me to the other end of the mall.) read more

The employees were rude and entitled. As a long term customer who has only purchased items from the store, I decided to sell my gently used items that my child no longer needs. I was instructed that I was to put together the crib in store for them to review. I laughed as I had no idea that was a requirement. I did not bring tools and stated I was not going to do that. The employees were continually rude to me after that and not helpful. I was then i strutted to review their website for the rule to sell and what they were allowed to accept. I did that. There is no information on their website of what they were telling me and what they were refusing to review. I then called them after having reviewed to discuss and express my concern over how I was treated to be met with more rudeness and having my character as a person barrated. This place is GREAT! Especially if you've got children! :-) We had one of the greatest experiences ever earlier this year when we stopped Once Upon A Child to simply browse for ideas without any intention of buying anything. My wife was expecting our first child, so we were anxious to find out what was available in this local children's secondhand store. Soon after we arrived, a lady stopped in with two huge bags full of clothing. We couldn't help but overhear her trying to sell them to the manager. The manager couldn't buy them, because they were overstocked with infant clothing at that point in time. Fortunately for us, the lady didn't rush off in a huff. She took one look at my wife and asked, "What are you expecting?" My wife said, "A boy." She said, "How would you like all these clothes? My boy just turned one and can't fit into any of these clothes anymore." We said, "SURE!" & "THANK YOU!" What a blessing! I can't promise that this will happen to you when you visit Once Upon A Child, but you never know. This store is a blessing all by itself. It is such a wonderful place, because they sell everything from toys to clothes to furniture for children of all ages - most of which are name brands! Even though their products are slightly used, they are all in very good shape, clean and ready to go. Above all, they are priced right - very low! We've been back several times and have always found some fantastic bargains. None of which were as good as our first visit, but close enough. Whatever you do, don't waste your time at expensive retail stores until you check out Once Upon A Child first. And that's an order! read more

I'm a fan of Once Upon a Child, however I will not return to this location. This past weekend was tax free shopping so as you can imagine plenty of individuals were out shopping. You would think that the management would anticipate individuals coming and consider cleaning out the changing rooms so customers can actually use them. I've bought items here before and have been happy with them. However, dealing with the staff when selling is awful. The two times I have brought items in, the staff have treated me like I am inconveniencing them. My items are brand name and the store always purchases them. The manager (name tag said Lisa) was rude to me for bringing in a Walk In the last time, but also told me I couldn't get a Selling Appointment for 2 weeks and that she is really busy. I will be donating my child's items to charity from now on, I'd rather my items go to those in need, and not contribute my items to be resold to fund Lisa's paycheck. read more

I've only ever tried to sell a few things here, and you definitely aren't going to get rich off of it, but as far as buying goes, Once Upon A Child can't be beat. Most of the stuff here is in great condition and name brands aren't difficult to find. When our son was still in preemie sizes I had a terrible time finding a good selection of clothes for him until I stumbled on Once Upon a Child. They had a better variety than any other store I tried. While the clothes are their main draw they also have a large selection of cribs/strollers/bouncy toys and even boppys and potty chairs. The shoe selection can be slim pickings if you're looking for the smaller sizes but we've had good luck when it comes to dress shoes, which is nice since they're usually one time use before he outgrows them. read more

The more I come here the more I get disappointed. They give you a handful of dollars for your stuff yet over price their items. Where they do that at? They are not good with qualify inspection. I often feel ripped off and realize I'm better off going to the thrift store or sales/clearance rack at a clothing store. Don't be fooled. Things are suppose to be gently used but sometimes look like kids ran track in the shoes, walked on their knees and wiped every meal on their shirt (heavily used!). Obvious stains, tears/rips/holes and dirt should not exist in this store, but it does. It's not worth it for about half of the stuff here. The toys, books, games misc. are more worth the prices than the clothing and shoes. Their quality inspection doesn't pass the test. I refuse to buy clothing or shoes from them anymore. I definitely won't waste my time trying to sell to them, it's an insult. read more

Great place to sell your kids' old stuff. Sometimes they are sketchy about not buying good, name brand stuff but usually give you decent prices for your stuff. It's also a great place to look for everything from clothes to strolls to toys. Most of the stuff has good prices and is in near new condition. I have been shopping in this store for years. Recently for the second time I have experienced one of the worst customer service experiences that I have ever received in a store. This has happened previously but I decided to give the location another chance. I am disappointed! The rudeness of the staff both coming in to drop off or pick up is unbelievable. As I write this I'm asking myself why am I giving a business such high ratings that has repeatedly made me feel like trash? Why, because this is truly a great place with good items and prices. I've managed to check out several different locations, and in my opinion this is the best. Spacious, organised, and well stocked. This particular location has been remodeled a few times. The set up is nice, three tier racks which allows more floor space and makes shopping less cramped. They have everything - clothes, toys, books, small furniture, strollers, basically everything. You can buy items confidently knowing that they are current on any recalled items. Staff is friendly, hours are good, decent return policy, and great inventory of clearance items. There are also $1.00 day specials. The only reason why this is not a five star review is because of their buying policy, which I do not get! I swear I spend hours washing, ironing, and folding my gently used clothing, for what? A measly fistful of dollars. It never fails, I'll have name brand designer clothing neatly packed and still manage to be turned away. I KNOW my stuff is as good as the items for sale!! I hate that walk of shame from the store to my car with my loads of rejected clothing, it feels as if everyone knows - my stuff just isn't good enough for Once Upon A Child. LOL Will the relentless rejection and shunning stop me from returning, not a chance. I will say that at least they are very nice about it and hand you your couple of bucks with a great big smile! I've been to two of these places in search of shoes for my son. I haven't tried selling anything, but this is my favorite of the two locations. It's large, well located, and has a huge selection! I was able to find a few pairs of shoes out of the buckets in the back, and browsed the shelves as well. It's well organized and the staff is nice. My son has sensitive skin and eczema so I'm not sure about buying clothing here, but it's a great place for shoes! (They wear them for two months and then they're done. Seriously, you're going to shell out 45 dollars for a new pair? Not me!) read more

I go to this Once upon a Child for a few reasons:#1- the staff is friendly and helpful, there are even a few gals that have been there long enough to seen my daughter grow up through the years. #2-well organized #3- close to my house. What I like about this group is that they do a good job informing the customers of discount/deals. They are good at circuting the clothes which allows them to keep bringing in new stuff. Unfortunately, the clothing in the store is listed for higher than new clothing that can be found in Target, Walmart and other retail stores. When these stores first opened their prices were reasonable but now they are charging extremely unreasonable prices. I will not show up here again. It is ridiculous to expect to pay retail prices for Thrift Store items. read more

Great store with plenty of selection we have used. Only drawback is that they make you wait a day when you bring things in to get your store credit and we live out of town with no store in our town to use. read more

I give this location 1 star because of the people who work there! I recently had my first experience at this location and was VERY dissapointed! I went in on Saturday and had a great lady helping me, went to pay and realized I forgot my gift cards. She was very nice and said that normally they don't hold items, but things happen, and I will this time under the circumstances. When I came back, I said I had things on hold and was told we don't hold things. I explained what happened and that they did have items in a bag on hold for me, but they just kept saying that they didn't do holds. After going and looking on the shelves and not finding any of the MANY items I had on hold the day prior I knew the bag had to be back there. I went back to the front and said I realize you don't do holds, however, I know that my bag is back there. Sure enough they found it. While ringing me up, the girl just kept saying we really shouldn't be doing this, we really shouldn't be doing this! I ignored her and then went to pay. I handed over 2 gift cards my twins had recieved for their birthday 3 days before and they told me, they were both empty. I told her that was impossible as they just got them. She went and got the asst. manager and she also said they were empty and looked at me like I was trying to rip them off. She continued to try and one went through. She said that the other one still wasn't working and was muttering under her breath about how much she hated gift cards, (like its my fault they don't work well). Eventually they both went through and they continued with the rest of the line without so much as a thank-you, or I am sorry or any nice comment at all!
