Totally forgot Father's Day is around the corner, and by corner I mean this Sunday. I needed to get a few cards and opted to stop into Amy's Hallmark Shop (located next to an Oshkosh B'Gosh).
I walked in and was greeted by an employee. Every time I walk into a Hallmark I feel the need to do the following:
1. Browse for items I don't need
2. Smell candles
3. Fail to remember why I visited the store in the first place
4. (And this most recent visit) Walk back into said Hallmark and remember it's almost Father's Day due to the large sign I missed when I arrived the first time.
After browsing at all the cute items they had (everything from mugs, local wares like signs and shirts, stuffed animals, books, flamingos, etc.), I realized I didn't need any of those things (does anyone need a life size flamingo? No, I don't need one, but I WANT one), before I made a poor decision, I walked over to the Father's Day cards. Two rows of cards, thirty minutes later, I picked out more cards then I care to admit and I checked out.
Check out was quick and courteous.
Pros:
-The store always looks nice and smells nice
-Variety of holiday cards
-Variety of items (some even made by locals)
-Employee was friendly
Cons:
-My inability to make a decision and proceed to spend 30 minutes reading cards
Tips: Remember what you went to Amy's for, so you don't get sucked into a vortex of smelling candles and looking at giant flamingos (to be fair, I enjoyed myself). read more
