How did I not know there was a Michael's here?! Seriously, no more trips to Stringtown road to grab drawing pads and crafting supplies! This Michael's will now become my go-to. It was a few days after Christmas and I was bored out of my mind on vacation at home and decided at 6:30PM I needed more watercolor paper. I did a quick search on Yelp to see if there were any art/craft stores closer to me (RIP SN Blick), and that's when I discovered this one. I grabbed my mask, threw on a coat, and jumped in the car. I arrived to find plenty of parking, health and safety information on the sliding doors, and a shockingly clean and well organized Michaels. Seriously, I'm confused about the other reviews because this place was spotless and everything was where it should be. I even found everything I needed super quick, which is appreciated during times of COVID when I don't like to me out more than I need to be. I will note that I agree with other Yelpers regarding the customer service here. While it wasn't terrible, the staff clearly needed more training and discounted items weren't ringing up correctly. I waited for several minutes with the cashier (I assume she was new), for a manager to come fix the problems. Other than that, my experience was just what I would expect at a Michaels store. In the words of Arnold S., I'll be back!

Paper on sale!!! Bring your coupons too.

This location of Michael stores in Graceland Plaza is one of the better ones I have went to in Ohio. The workers have always been friendly and helpful whenever I come in to get supplies. I do enjoy the layout of the store everything is kind of to the point and I was able to get in get my inks for my projects and paper fairly quickly. But believe me, if if you are an artist, this place is like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. You're going to want to try everything. There was a good amount of social distancing and they had warnings on the door for people to spaced out, masks were recommended but not required, and a limit of people they were letting in. The workers have petitions at the registers and they were wearing gloves and masks. I was wearing a mask as well trying to be diligent with other people's health and my own. It was a great shopping experience.

The space is kind of small. We went on a weekend and they had a big group in there. So I would say during the week is probably a better time. The staff was a really nice and helpful. I cannot wait to go back and create something different. Also, it takes about a week to get your finished project back. Because it has to be put in the oven to finish it.

Neither of those things are drawbacks, just things that would be helpful to know ahead of time if you've never been before! Inside is a very cozy atmosphere and welcoming environment! There's always a variety of blank pieces to select from; I do not often see repeat items. There is a table at the front which includes various items: stamps, lace, paper cut-outs, paint tape, letter stamps, just lots of things to help you make the piece you want! They do discounts for students and children. I cannot recall the exact amount for each, but they do have them!

This location is off high street in Worthington with parking in front and plenty behind the shop with a short walk. Our group brought our own champagne and mixers to make mimosas along with muffins. They allow wine, beer and champagne along with your own food. Not a lot of room to set up a spread but nice enough to have at or near your workstation to sip and graze. The staff is friendly and eager to help. (Shout out to Erin and Stacy) Some people in our group made signs, a tabletop and I opted to make a pillow cover. Each project had a custom stencil that was ordered and made prior to our arrival. What I learned was NOT to move ahead of your project prior to getting guidance or assistance. There could be a possibility you make a mistake or miss a crucial step that messes things up. Don't be afraid to ask for help or get tips and how-to's from the staff. It was nice to having someone like her to help when needed at every twist and turn while still keeping the learning process light and fun. Terra Gallery is a working gallery that hosts a variety of hands on events listed either on their site or on eventbrite. I didn't spend much time exploring the gallery because I was pretty sure I'd need all of the time for my project, but there were a lot of interesting looking pieces that I will plan to explore more in the future. The space is a little small, but they have made good use of it, and are planning a move across to Bridge Park soon. I was glad I recruited a friend to join, because we were the only two people in the class! It was a fairly laid back event. The instructor had sketched out the details on the canvases before we arrived, and they provided a little instruction card that kind of showed how to build your piece up. As usual with these events, we ended up with two very different finished products, and my friend chose not to add some of the elements to her piece. April helped her take things out as she preferred. Since it was just the two of us, we were chatting and painting and the instructor was working on her own piece while another woman priced pieces in the gallery. They were very friendly and I had a great time!
