This is the closest arts and crafts store to my house and generally has what I need. They do not restock seasonal items, so once it's gone, it's gone, which applies to both in store and online shopping. Speaking of online shopping, they are still (January 2023) offering in store pick up for online orders. Since I tend to aimlessly wander around the art supply store and leave with $50 worth of stuff, but not what I came in for, this is a very good option! Also, Michaels is PET FRIENDLY and has been added to our roster of places that Miss Pup can join me. She had a fantastic time as the customer base here skews heavily female and that is also her peak fan base (big dog in a sweater in a craft store?!). The staff were very welcoming of the dog and she had a good sniff all around while I picked up some paint. I've got another online order in my cart queued up! read more

How did I not know there was a Michael's here?! Seriously, no more trips to Stringtown road to grab drawing pads and crafting supplies! This Michael's will now become my go-to. It was a few days after Christmas and I was bored out of my mind on vacation at home and decided at 6:30PM I needed more watercolor paper. I did a quick search on Yelp to see if there were any art/craft stores closer to me (RIP SN Blick), and that's when I discovered this one. I grabbed my mask, threw on a coat, and jumped in the car. I arrived to find plenty of parking, health and safety information on the sliding doors, and a shockingly clean and well organized Michaels. Seriously, I'm confused about the other reviews because this place was spotless and everything was where it should be. I even found everything I needed super quick, which is appreciated during times of COVID when I don't like to me out more than I need to be. I will note that I agree with other Yelpers regarding the customer service here. While it wasn't terrible, the staff clearly needed more training and discounted items weren't ringing up correctly. I waited for several minutes with the cashier (I assume she was new), for a manager to come fix the problems. Other than that, my experience was just what I would expect at a Michaels store. This location of Michael stores in Graceland Plaza is one of the better ones I have went to in Ohio. The workers have always been friendly and helpful whenever I come in to get supplies. I do enjoy the layout of the store everything is kind of to the point and I was able to get in get my inks for my projects and paper fairly quickly. But believe me, if if you are an artist, this place is like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. You're going to want to try everything. There was a good amount of social distancing and they had warnings on the door for people to spaced out, masks were recommended but not required, and a limit of people they were letting in. The workers have petitions at the registers and they were wearing gloves and masks. I was wearing a mask as well trying to be diligent with other people's health and my own. As far as Michael's goes, this is exactly like any other Michael's that you would go to anywhere else in the country. It's clean and we'll stocked. But, I have to say, many of the people who work here are incredibly rude. Not everyone, but it seems like every time I come here I have one interaction with someone that surprises me. Last time I was there I had an older man scold me to not take something off a high shelf, when I was just looking at it. Just today the cashier acted as if she could barely stand dealing with me as I checked out, rolled her eyes at me, snapped at everything I said, and, acted so frustrated when I tried to pull up a coupon, (there was nobody else in line) that I actually didn't use it. I am a easy customer to please. I don't expect cashiers to smile at me or even to be friendly. It's hard work and people are tired. But I do expect them not to be hostile. I will say, there have been some employees here that are so kind and helpful! But unfortunately I have had more than one bad experience here. read more

Michaels was a lot of help while getting the decorations ready for our daughter's wedding! If I had an idea, I would be able to get the pieces and parts to make what I wanted! This is a great place to get whatever you need for your projects! I had some pretty amazing things to do and I was able to get the things I needed to complete my decorations and I was very happy with the final results! I am also a member of the customer rewards program at Michaels! I was able to save a few dollars while getting ready for the wedding! Michaels usually has flyers in the paper as well as their own web site. As the holidays are coming and your head starts to get ideas, keep them in mind. You can get many project ideas from the store. Fairly busy on a holiday season weekend with a big sale, but not crazy like the one at Easton. Large, well-organized, with huge sales right now and frequent sales in general. (We come here too often; Sweetie loves them.) We got most of the stuff we needed. Come for Christmas supplies, fake plants, crafting stuff, gifts. You'll find something cool and useful. We like the blank books, which Baby K colors in sometimes. Also useful for frames and framing. read more

If you know of or intend to patronize a Michaels you should have a fairly decent grasp of their mission statement as a one stop shop for arts and crafts and related hobby based creative ephemera that counts amongst its competitors JoAnns Fabrics. One can typically find the crafting material they need, be it tools or textiles, as well as decorative materials to create the right festive or seasonal atmosphere or accent for your home interior I enjoy Michaels quite a bit. But not this one. I'll be blunt. The selection is disorganized and subpar. The staff in the stocking isles are friendly, but the folks at checkout are curt, somewhat standoffish, disengaged, and cavalier in how they greet and treat customers. I spend way too much time at this Michael's, but it's such a great location! Easy to get in and out of, they have their own small parking lot in the midst of a busy strip mall. I love the size of the store too, not too big or too small - I feel like I can walk through the whole store without getting overwhelmed but still find what I need. Except for two recent exceptions the employees here are always kind and helpful, and quick at ringing you up. The last two cashiers I had rubbed me the wrong way though. The first time, I couldn't get my app to work to pull up the weekly coupon, so I was hoping she would offer me one (yeah, I was that annoying customer who straight up asked the cashier for a coupon. But I worked retail for years and people always did that! I figured I'd give it a shot myself). Anyway, she pretty much shrugged and didn't offer a solution. Oh well! Not her fault I couldn't provide a coupon myself. Then the last time I was there the girl took forever with the customer in front of me and never asked a coworker to come open another register even though there was quite a line. Then when I finally got up there she was sullen and monosyllabic, and fiddled with her lip piercing the whole transaction. It was very off putting because I've always had such a great experience here! I don't mean to turn this into a customer service rant - I assume a lot of employees have just started for the seasonal holiday jobs so they are probably not the normal "face" of the company, and I've worked in retail so I know it's impossible to always be perfect. I still love this Michael's and will continue to spend way too much of my time and money here - with such great coupons and fun products how can I resist? read more

I feel like I might be at Michaels once a week. So...this review is overdue. This Michaels is in a great location with great parking (unless it is the busy holiday season) and I appreciate the lighting. I will say it does seem like this Michaels runs out of season items quickly so perhaps it is a smaller store. The employees are always friendly even when there is only one person working as cashier and a line waiting. Clean, good lighting and clean bathroom. Always seems to have what I'm looking for and things I pick up due to the awesome sales. read more

This store is my absolute favorite of all the Michael's my family and I frequent! It's a bit smaller than most of the other ones, but that just makes it easier to find the things I'm looking for and gets me out the door. The staff is always friendly and VERY helpful, checkout time is usually non existent, and if you forget to bring your coupons they are always happy to accommodate. This store is great! I live in Clintonville and have for 18 yrs. It's nice to finally have a store so close. People like to complain and will always find a reason to do so. The staff is always helpful and if they were out of an item i needed they called other stores until they found it and the store held it for me (only happened once and it was a clearance item). Thanks for always being so helpful! Don't let the people who never make mistakes, get you down. I recommend this store on a daily basis to my customers. read more

No sense in going back to this Michael's store. It's been a while since I've been in one, since I've been able to find similar items online wholesale or certain things through Etsy shops. And Hobby Lobby has always been a better, more economical option for a lot of craft supplies as well. But this Michael's is within walking distance of home and I thought that would be nice, which was the only benefit to this store. First, I was reminded of their high prices. Then their coupons, which I do honestly understand, have the standard: "good for one regularly priced item except for A-Z." That's fine. But then at checkout, the cashier barely paid attention. The guy in front of me had to remind her that he gave her a $20 bill when she handed back the wrong change. The manager who came didn't apologize to the customer, but made sure to tell the girl he was also a musician. Sounds like they're going to start an orchestra someday, so... When it was my turn, I had to ask for a bag and bag the items myself. Good luck out there. I'm sure it's no great loss, my business. But I'll take it somewhere else. read more
