I was intrigued by the records I saw in the window when I was passing by from Alchemy, so I stopped in. There were tons of stones/gems/jewelry, but to the right, there was a little section with clothing, books, records, etc. I grabbed 3 records for $30 and would definitely come back to check out any new clothing or jewelry they bring in. The associate was also very kind and let me have a dog treat for my pup. The one odd thing was that she asked me if I was a rewards member when I was ringing up, and I wasn't but said I'd like to sign up. She rung me up, then signed me up and said since she already rung me up, none of the points would count, so next time's purchase will be the first one I can get points on. They do have a nice rewards program where if you spend $100, you can get 15% off the next visit. read more

My sister dragged me into this little store after she found it on Yelp. She was looking for some particular stones and according to the internet, this place would have them. We found paid street parking across the street and made our way in to be greeted by a young man working the register and two giant fluff ball kitties. This place is packed with, well... cool sh*t. There are obviously tons of different rocks and stones and artifacts. The prices range from .25 cents per pound to hundreds of dollars. I was definitely shocked by some of the prices but hey, this stuff is rare right? On top of all the crystals and stuff, they also have jewelry, windchimes, incents/sage, pet toys (likely thanks to the kitties), art, etc. It was really fun to walk through. I walked out with a nice piece of amethyst for about eight dollars. It's roughly an inch all the way around and absolutely beautiful. It's my birthstone so obviously it's my favorite. I also grabbed a small piece of tabular quarts (good for confidence, balance, relaxation, and communication) and kyanite (good for serenity and treats the adrenal glands). I love how they had little papers (for most items) that explain what their "healing properties" are. Overall, this place is cool but I did have to hurry out because I was sneezing (I'm allergic to cats). It could definitely use a little cleaning and dusting. Prices were a little much and I noticed the 15% off check-in offer a little too late but I'll definitely do that if I visit again in the future. read more

This is the first gem shop that I've been ablee to find in Columbus and we were not disappointed. The selection was excellent and the prices we're the bad. They were a bit on the high side for the larger pieces but their kiddle of the range size pieces were priced nicely. A special surprise you will find when you walk in is the two cats that come to greet you. They roam the shop and they definitely are vocal when they are looking for some pets. I think adriennne was lore interested in the kitties than she was for the rocks! It was actually pretty busy when we walked in but the lady behind the counter answered all of my questions. One of my friends found this place for us when I came to town. We moved from Arizona and have been looking for a cool rock shop that has a little of everything. This shop definitely does. We spent over an hour in this store as if it was like a candy shop for kids.. lol. They have a lot of really good quality gems and minerals at decent prices as well others are I little on the high side. Now I can't stand when I find I rock shop that is overwhelming with different incense. This place is very clean and has a good clean energy vibe as well.. the people that work here are very nice and had a good time talking to them. A plus they have two big babies cat roaming the store and very friendly. I can't wait till I can come back. Accent on Nature is a curio shoppe of many delights. The items for purchase are earthy and various. Fossilized sea and land creatures (mostly of a smaller variety) is a solid section. There is a healthy supply of incense, oils, holders and pouches. Mounted insects, crystals, stress or touch stones, and beads. There is even an out-of-the-way area that displays shawls, cloaks, and other wardrobe-type apparel (mostly women's) that would be a nice fit for strolls in area metro-parks or along wooded paths. It's a shoppe that will lean into people who are spiritual and meditative. Just going into the shoppe gives off a calming feeling. Accent on Nature is cool. read more

This shop on Grandview is OK for what it is: lots of things somehow related to the idea of "nature." That means birdhouses, shells, stones and rocks of all sorts, preserved insects, yard ornaments, wind chimes and much more. There are also toys and various gifts. And indeed a gift is the best thing to come here for. I kept hoping to find a cane with a mosquito preserved in amber at the end of it...cue "Jurassic Park" theme. Not a fan. I purchased incense here, and probably will again when the stash is low, but customer service? Hello? Is anyone out there? I barely get even a look when I walk through the door. Do they know that I don't practice Wicca? Can they tell that sort of thing? Gosh, maybe that's it! Anyway, this is the place to find that perfect rock. or garden chime. or random tacky ornament. In the back they hide the outdoor goodies. Stepping stones, bird feeders (oh so many bird feeders) and sweet sounds of nature cd's. To be honest, the store and the products are fine, creative and unique even. But customer service holds a lot of weight for me, and this is where they fail. OH! and btw, I just called for their hours, and even the voice on the other end was rude! I had to ask specifically for each day's hours. Couldn't you have just told me M-Th...F-Sa...and Sun? I felt as though I had to hold my breath and I clutched my purse close to my body because there were so many breakable things and everything was in such close quarters. Precious stone sculptures of skulls and animals, fossils and sea creatures were packed tightly in the front of the store. Signs were posted all around saying "FRAGILE!" and "Do not touch! Please ask for assistance." Further in were candles, cards and music. And in the back room was even more. The place proved to be larger than I thought. Plush toys and books for kids, many of which were Eyewitness books, were on the left side. On the right was outdoor stuff such as wind chimes, birdhouses and birdfeeders. In the background recorded bird sounds played. Front displays, including sculptures, photography, some lip gloss and candles contain works from local artists. Local fossils, small and gigantic, could be found sitting just under the window. Many things were very pretty, but very pricey as well. Gawking at the pretty rocks and fossils I was happy, but I was a little put back when I went to ask the guy behind the counter for help. At least twice I said "hello" and he did not respond. He was just on the other side of the counter and I was sure I said it loud enough. He didn't look up from his book, he didn't look at me at all, and he didn't even say something like "I'll be with you in a minute". I was a miffed because he was ignoring me. But, the experience saved itself when I spoke with the other person. The lady immediately acknowledged me and came right to my service. The name of this amazing shop is misleading. It should properly be called a gem and mineral specialty shop. It's bright, well-organized, well-lit and all but the most expensive and delicate specimens are available to touch and hold. Yes, Accent on Nature carries wind chimes, walking sticks, bird feeders, and a small assortment of "sciency" kids' stuff, which is what you might expect from the name. However, most of the stock consists of mineral specimens. MUSEUM-QUALITY mineral specimens. Stuff that you'd never expect to find in a typical "gift shop." Want a near-perfectly preserved 6-inch trilobite? How about some giant mammoth teeth, or a fist-sized Herkimer diamond? A perfect selenite rose? Petrified wood? Rare and unique combinations of minerals, like calcite crystals studded with marcasite, or pyratized ammonites? Fossilized turtle poop, anyone? Or, maybe a rare meteorite is more your speed. I could literally spend hours ogling all the sparkly natural masterpieces. There is stuff here I've never seen anywhere else, and I'm a mineral nerd, and a life-long museum-goer-- none of that cheap dyed agate and low-grade gem chips you might find at a "nature store" in the mall. This shop is a hidden treasure trove for anyone who's seriously into gemology. read more

I really shouldn't write this review. It isn't very nice and I believe in karma but the whole point of being on yelp is to be honest, right? And since honesty IS the best policy.... Okay. Well. Truth is, I don't think that anyone working there actually wants to be there or even remotely enjoys their job. I have been in there several times and I am never greeted (isn't that the 'numero uno' rule in sales?) and while I can absolutely 1000% look past that, I have never been treated more rudely. I called recently to ask what time they closed and the lady on the phone literally sighed so loud at the mere request that I was almost compelled to check the Titan radar for fear we were having a wind storm. Not exactly but you get my point. Anyway, I support local business, I really do, which is what brought me there in the first place, but these guys need to step it up a notch. read more

This has always been a great place to blow some time when in Grandview. The village once had a couple places like this in the building across Grandiew Avenue before it burned down some years ago. It is kinda of artsy/crafty with a dash of neo-hippy allure, a wooden jewelry/gallery shops that would fit in counterculture towns like Kent, Athens, Yellow Spring; you know the type,with a headshop feel minus the paraphernalia. Like Pearl of Wisdom when it existed in Clintonville. The place is thick with sleepy beauty. It seems to be place for rockheads or whatever they are callled. The rocks here on sale seems extensive. I love looking at them but my knowledge of geology is small. For all I know there are rocks and quartz. They have quartz I think, and quartzy other rocks, and dazzling sparkly rocks that are quartz like. They also have real smooth rocks that have a glaze of some kind. The staff was talking minerals and such with a customer in detail. So if you are a rockhead come here, go to town. They also sell garden art, changing wind chimes, garden and table top figurines, wooden bird houses and feeders, plaques. They have unframed art, street scenes and cityscapes of Columbus, and incense. A small, sleek side room feature locally made Ohio and community themed teeshirts. A great place to bling up your summer garden. read more

I'm not a huge gem / jewelry person, but I appreciate the fact that AoN offers a lot of beautiful specimens. I'd agree that the employees can be hit or miss - sometimes they seem almost too quiet, sometimes I've felt like they're spilling over the line of "helpful" and into "pushy". On the plus side, they recently added a small art gallery space to the shop where they previously had been storing larger furniture pieces, so it's nice to go in and check out work from several local artists in addition to the pretty shiny things. read more

I was in the market for incense and this store popped up as somewhere that sells quality product. After attempting to go three times on three separate days when they were supposed to be open, I stopped trying because the door was locked, the lights were off, and no one answered the phone when I called. I went to another place on High Street for incense and am happy with that. Not even going to waste my time going back to this store in the future. read more

This place is amazing. I must admit that I am a bit of a rock nerd, and I can't believe Accent on Nature was right under my nose for so long without me paying it a visit. The store boasts a wide range of fossils, geodes, gems, minerals, etc. It also has other nature-shop goodies, like gorgeous hand-crafted jewelry, wind chimes, bird houses, local art, and figurines. It is well lit and well-organized. The prices are VERY reasonable. I purchased a very large crystal pendant with sterling silver accents for under $15. Not sure why others found the prices high. I found them very favorable! Lastly, and most importantly, since it seems like most of the store's negative reviews stem from this, the customer service is WONDERFUL. We went in at 5 minutes to close, and apologized for keeping them, and they suggested they'd stay open until 10 because it was busy. That seems like a customers-first mentality, to me. Also, I asked a million questions about the gems, and found the employees very willing to help. In fact, one of the employees took 10 minutes to figure out the name of a crystal I was interested in, just because I asked and because he was curious. Then he lent me a guide book to crystals so I could learn more about what I was purchasing. That shows that he cared about the customer AND had a passion for the business he is in. Can't beat that. I really wish I could leave zero stars. These people have cats running around their store, and my daughter who is 3 wanted to pet the cat. So after petting one the owner or whatever he is told us there was another one on the counter. We walked over to pet it and after a couple pets the cat reached out and scratched my daughter. The owner, who made no attempt at apology, simply said "yeah he does that." So we stood there with my daughter in tears as the owner was on a ladder changing light bulbs. What an absolute joke of a shop and a mockery of how to treat people in your store. You should be ashamed of yourself. read more

I seem to be the only person who really really wants to only have a conversation if I feel like it. I highly dislike the hovery feeling that sometimes happens. Also... for those of you who didn't realize it, one of the people working there is a little deaf. I've found he needs you to talk really loud, and it helps if you're on a particular side of him (i don't remember which side, though). The thing that really endears me to this place is their selection of minerals and fossils and bugs. I'm not a fan of the kitchy garden stuff. There's too many places that have the garden stuff around, but nowhere near enough places with fossils. Yay! read more

It seems that I'm not the only one who experienced poor customer service at this store. The products are unique and well priced for what they are, but it's not enough to make me keep coming back. The man behind the counter seemed engrossed in conversation, with who I assumed to be another customer, from the moment we walked in the door which was fine, but when we went to check out he seemed very bothered by having to help us. He actually said directly to us that he was upset that he had to stop what he was working on in order to ring us up. To which I responded "We don't have to buy anything, we can just leave." I agree with the previous reviews at this site. The employees think they are doing you a favor by helping. Nobody greets you when you enter. They are busy on cell phones or standing outside the door smoking. When I did get help it didn't matter anyway because nobody knows about the merchandise. I felt like I was at a garage sale. Accent on Nature is such a wonderful store & thought I had to sign up and share my experiences at the store. Giving it an update. I was actually SHOCKED to read these reviews, but at the same time feeling pretty lucky that I didn't bump into these people mentioned by prior reviews, but none would rob what the store could offer. Why ruin the movie, if a smile is missing at the box office? Long story short, the large selections of minerals, crystals, gemstones, meteorites and rare fossils are all still there along with other goodies such as bird feeders and misc as described in the other reviews. I'm there for their large selections of rocks and good number of designers' jewelery works, one of the best place in Ohio in my opinion and were also told by many who grew up in Ohio. Upon that door bells sound, from "Hi, is there something I can help you find?" to "How's going, Roger?" I guess I have become a regular. I would spent hours indulging in the wonders of nature or admiring the artists' creations. Occasionally, I meet the actual designers and get to know them personally, which is a bonus. Some are wonderful & some are odd, but surly the jeweleries created are beyond my patience and creativity, which deserves great respect. The other day I walked in on a small class given in the store & learned more about the rocks that I love, which was pleasant surprise. Over the past year, the store regularly updates inspiring artworks and wonders of nature, where I have witness the inspired kids' joy & laughter and those tinny hand prints on the display windows and in store shelf. The classic toys, the puppets and the treats of nature far beats the TV programs or the video games, sometimes. Local businesses/stores are disappearing nowadays, hate to see a quality store like this one goes. I feel these reviews are great, but all stores try to be great or do better, else why bother? Share your feed back with management/owners, if your intention includes better the service provided. Fire the employees, not the stores. We are a vendor and was doing business with Accent on Nature prior to there last order. We have yet receive payment or word from anyone in that shop especially the owner. Goods were received to them but payment was not sent to us. It has been since November 2013. Not a great way to do business. read more
