    The Red Stable

The Red Stable is a little old barn turned into a gift shop in German Village of Columbus, OH. This little gift shop reminds me a lot of the Pink Sleigh, here in Westbrook, CT. There are so many beautiful giftable items, or souvenirs for yourself. There's so many little ornaments, beautiful handcrafted cuckoo clocks, locally made honey and maple syrups as well as locally made jewelry. They also have an upstairs where you can find a variety of plants in the most adorable planters. I got my self a pair of stunning sterling silver earrings that were made by a local artisan. I've been wearing them everyday since. They are my souvenir from my trip to Columbus. The Red Stable is a beautiful store filled with all kinds of little treasures, in the center of German Village.

This is an adorable gift shop with the nicest employees. It is a highlight of the German town visit. There are so many unique handmaid items from a variety of local vendors. Because of this the prices are a little high, but that is to be expected for private crafters. Make sure to visit upstairs which has more stuff! My favorite thing was looking at all the unique cuckoo clocks of all sizes!

Cute place, friendly staff, very colorful with a variety of ornaments, souvenirs, trinkets and more. Yet, a bit pricey for the area based on the fact that they have a lot of European gadgets that can easily be less expensive in Europe itself (mainly Germany).

I really wish I went upstairs after seeing some of the Yelp photos. This shop has a lot of really cool souvenirs that are locally made. Got some honey as a gift. There were these Columbus OH pint glasses I wanted to get, but not for $29. The girl working the shop was nice and efficient. Would recommend.

This place has a bunch of nice locally made food and souvenirs. It's worth a stop into if your in the area for Schmidt

The small horse stable this gift and souvenir shop inhabits is nearly 150 years old. In the span the barn functioned as home for other business. A blacksmith, an ice dealer, and an artist used the German style red triangular edifice. The Red Stable has housed a store here since the 1970s. Today it sells trinkets and gift swag made by local artists, greenthumbs, and the crafty talented. Catty-corner from Schmidt's in the deadend cul de sac of Kossuth designed to trap tourist in the inescapable net of German Village coziness, The Red Stable fits right in with the homey feel of other trinket galleries in the neighborhood. Two floors and a garden style patio are filled with jewelery, table top art, candles, scents, bath soaps, clothing, dinner ware, glassware, and pottery. Outside are greenery, birdhouses, garden art, stakes, and plant holders. The loft up an ancient stairway holds watercolors, oil, and photographic wall art with other various knick-knacks. The rustic feel and idiosyncatic expression of the small shop makes it an interesting place to find an unique find. Lovely in presentation and with a splendid staff this store is a nice walk stop any one looking for items off the beaten path.

What an adorable little place! We found this gem while wandering down the brick street of German Village in Columbus. The red exterior catches your eye and draws you in. As soon as you walk in you will be taken back by the rustic charm, scent of hand crafted soap and local goodies everywhere. The space isn't huge, but there is plenty to see! The gentlemen working greeted us promptly with a smile. He explained that the store is filled with pieces from over 100 locals in the area. I loved this! You can find things like jewelry, potted succulents, artwork, soaps, lotions and lots of other eclectic things. If you are in the area, make sure you stop into this charming stable!

Adorable shop on the cutest brick street in the old Germantown neighborhood.

Adorable shop! Perched on the corner of this cute brick-lined neighborhood in old Germantown. I enjoyed walking around to the other shops, too. I would have bought more - jams, honey, posh uniquely- flavored lotions and amazing tiny cactus plants- were it not for the 3 ounce carry-on rule at the airport. There are a lot of Ohio-specific arts & crafts if you are looking for something Ohio-themed. Loved all the hand- made jewelry, too.

I had insurance so I filed a claim & they directed me to return to Diamond Cellar to pick out a replacement ring. Immediately it was not a pleasant experience. The receptionist never placed me in que despite being the 3rd person in the door after they opened at 10am. I sat annoyed for over 30 mins before approaching her again and asked if I should just make an appt. She said no there was a mix up. I wish I would've just left then. So much happened in between then and now but on 4/25 I called asked if I could speak to a manager because after placing my replacement order they have continued to try to mark the price up despite everything being written up properly & me having both the receipts for the stone as well as the setting. I originally called 3.5 hrs before closing and the receptionist told me if the female manager felt it was important she would return my call. I called back 25 mins before they closed again asking to speak to the manager. She then informed me the manager would call me back closer to closing time. I said do you not close in 25 mins? She said yes then abruptly ended the phone call that ended with "bye". At this point I'm going to try to reach someone af the corporate office because the way they are behaving like a used car sales lot is appalling. I refuse to pay a penny more than the agreed upon price that is on all my order receipts I was given when I placed the order on 2/21. They have flat out lied twice now about why the cost is changing. Avoid at all cost, even if you've had spectacular experience there in the past. I would much rather have them refund my insurance company the money that was wired to them for the replacement and take my business elsewhere and be treated as a valued customer.

YE Gurl Says: Service Matters More Than Sparkle at Worthington Jewelers…read more Place: Worthington Jewelers Context: Bridal show intro + in-store visits I really wanted to root for this one. I'm a fan of local, mom-and-pop businesses--especially for something as meaningful as wedding jewelry. Met the team at a bridal show, and while the energy felt a little off (crowds were heavy, so I gave grace), they warmed up enough to mention an extended bridal promo and encouraged me to stop in. So I did. And unfortunately... the experience never quite landed. When I came into the store, it was busy again--fair--but the interaction felt just as unclear as before. I explained exactly what I was looking for (even showed a Tiffany & Co. reference), and was immediately told customization was the only option... with no pricing guidance, no range, no transparency. That's a miss. When I did find a band in-store that worked, I moved forward--still without a clear idea of cost. After a long back-and-forth with a manufacturer, the quote came back at over $1,500 more than the comparable Tiffany piece. Pause. I also had to remind them about their own bridal promotion while actively making a purchase. That shouldn't be on the customer. To salvage the visit, I added earrings and dropped off jewelry for repair (which, to be clear, the smith work was excellent). But the buying experience? Still off. And here's where it really mattered: I later found my original ring through my Tiffany rep and called to cancel the order. Thankfully, I caught it in time--because buried in the fine print is that custom orders are non-cancelable. That's the kind of detail that should be clearly communicated upfront, not discovered later. Even the cancellation process felt like work. I was told someone would call me back... hours passed... I had to follow up myself to close the loop. Final visit to pick up my repaired jewelry? Empty store, but still somehow rushed. I tried to browse, got prompted to check out early, asked about items I'd previously seen--and was told they didn't exist. Then spotted them right next to me at checkout. At that point, I paid for the repair work and left with the same energy I walked in with: rushed, unclear, and not particularly welcomed. YE Gurl Insight: There's a difference between *nice* and *kind*. Nice feels scripted. Kind feels intentional. And in a category like jewelry--where purchases are emotional, high-investment, and personal--experience is everything. Final Take: * Craftsmanship (repairs): Strong * Retail experience: Inconsistent at best * Pricing transparency: Lacking * Overall vibe: Off I understand why more people are opting for brands like Tiffany & Co. or even online retailers like Mejuri --you get clarity, consistency, and a smoother experience without the friction. YE Gurl Says: Support local when it feels good to do so. But if the experience makes you second-guess a meaningful purchase? Trust that instinct and move accordingly.

We made an appointment to come in and this was the last jeweler before we decided who to go with. Right away Andy (son of William) just asked some questions to get to know us and what we were looking for. He told us they make their own style of rings right there in the shop. They don't just take measurements send those off to be cast at some other location. It's done by the two men behind the counter there. They have their own style of rings which separates them from traditional ring shapes. Aside from wedding rings they do just about everything jewelry related. Rings, earrings, necklaces etc... We have a family diamond passed down and Andy was able to create the ring and set the diamond. He also appraised the diamond for us. We then found another jewel to put in place from the piece we got the diamond and set that piece. Needless to say they did a fantastic job. The prices were respectable to the true artistic and craft work performed. After picking the piece out Andy took us back and showed us the process and work benches the ring would be made on. He showed us every step and during the appraisal he let us look at the diamond under microscope to see what makes ours unique. He explained the history behind it and how diamonds are made. They truly care about what they do. After 1 month we came in to look at the diamond and we're completely amazed by it. William and Andy smiled and said this is why they do what they do for these moments. They are truly masters of their craft and I would recommend to anyone! I have a ring that had a 3.0+mm wide and 2.3mm depth band. It needed to be sized down almost a full size. I took it in and was guaranteed they could do it no issue... They told me the band would get thicker because they would be bringing the thicker sides in. I left it with them for a week, as I don't live in Columbus . I was so happy to get it back and didn't really notice until about half an hour later: my ring hurt to wear. I took it off and looked at it and I was devastated. You could feel where they cut the shank, it was wavy, the was no uniformity to the edges, and it was oblong. I called and they apologized profusely. Asked me to take it to the store in Cleveland and they would let that store know we were coming. They did not. The store in Cleveland had no idea I was coming. Turns out, I paid the store in Columbus for the honor of someone ruining my ring. It lost nearly half a mm in depth and thickness. The store in Cleveland did the best they could. They would have had to order shanks and tried to color match the rose gold but it could have ended worse than before. Turns out the Columbus store didn't even resize it correctly and left it a quarter of a size too big. So unless you want your jewelry ruined, take it anywhere else. We were going to purchase an engagement ring from this company, but I'll take my business to alibaba before here. The store manager did refund my 125 resizing fee, or the fee I paid them to take gold out of my ring and leave me with something I couldn't wear. He told me it was weird that it ended up thinner than before because "taking a ring in shouldnt do that". My ring was 2.5mm wide and 1.9mm depth before the Cleveland. Actually fixed it. My question is this: where is the material they took out of my ring and why was I not compensated for that when they trashed my ring? My ring will never be the same. Go anywhere else.
