This place is great! It's all the way back in the corner of the shopping center, but don't let that deter you. The food is fresh and healthy. The mini bowl was plenty for me for lunch! I ordered my bowl with BBQ beef, which is exactly like the beef bulgogi you would get at Korean BBQ, mushrooms & broccoli, and soba noodles. read more

So I've been to this location multiple times. It's rarely close to my house and when I used to go to the gym in the same plaza I would go at least once a week. Over the last few months the customer service and the food have both become overwhelmingly BAD! Today I had one question and the guy that was supposed to be helping Alejandro J was very rude and told me just to read the screens. It was so rude because if he'd opened his ears he would've heard me ask a question unrelated to the menu shown on the screen. The ambiance and the customer service can both be upgraded. Big time... read more

Food is so good I love coming to this place, but you literally have to beg the workers to give you a proper portion, the lady there seriously gave me a piece of broccoli and two mushrooms when they just replaced the pot of veggies and had attitude when I asked for more, like really. Other than the food is delicious read more

I used to live this place. Over the last year, the quality has gone way down. Higher price, smaller portions, and dry chicken. I had a bowl today, and it was super underwhelming. I'll have to change to getting Pizza Studio or Chipotle when I go to lunch. read more

I RAN to leave a review as soon as I finished eating because I couldn't wait to rave about this place. All the ingredients are so damn good!! The pickled veggies are a must! The portion is huge for the price. I have nothing negative to say about this place. Will definitely be back to try different combinations and try the lemonade out! read more

ON + ON Fresh Korean Kitchen - Asian Fusion Near Me - Compton, California

In an area ripe with taco joints, burger places, and everything else unhealthy, we get a place we don't deserve but need. I absolutely love this place, the staff is always on point and don't act like the food they serve come out of their paycheck. They're always quick to say hello and easy to get along with. In an area where good food is easy to find, the superb customer service of this place is hard to come by and pushed On+On Compton further past the competiton. I eat here frequently and will continue to do so. My recommendations are the salad base, salmon with sweet potato, brussell sprouts, with fried shallots on top. Take the cilantro sauce on the side, as a little goes a very long way. read more

Really enjoy this cuisine. Only problem at this time is that the closest restaurant is far from my home in San Pedro, CA, and I use public transportation. Wish the owner would open a restaurant in or closer to this area. Excellent, healthy Southeast Asian fast food. read more

First time here. This place makes Korean bowls of different sorts. Food is tasty and fresh, Generous portions and helpful staff. The Brussel sprouts are roasted to delicious perfection. I got the classic bbq beef bowl, even if you choose a specific bowl you can add and customize it without fuss. They also do custom bowls, pretty good selection overall. Will be back, check this place out !!! read more

If you're looking for something healthy without having to spend a lot of money, then this is the place to eat. You can get a bowl from their menu or you can customize your own. I get half brown rice and half noodles as my base, chicken for my protein and the brussel sprouts for my vegetable. Then I add all of the toppings and get the cilantro and peanut dressings on the side. Talk about a flavor overload! The Asian guy had no customer service skills at all, and I think he was the owner (so sad). But the girl that helped us out was amazing, she offered to let me try the spicy pork because I was talking about it, I love how attentive she was. I know it's small but I tend to notice things like that. There aren't too many healthy options here in Compton, especially in this price range, so this is definitely a diamond in the rough. read more

Always great food and service. Family friendly and great portions of amazing food. Always fresh

Tried this place for the first time yesterday through Postmates and was pleasantly surprised. Was tired of the same fast food joints and wanted a healthy option and this was the perfect place! Ordered the salmon bowl with salad, seaweed, cucumber and grilled zucchini...FIRE! (DELICIOUS!!). Ordered again for tonight's dinner. Will definitely be eating here more often. read more

I have visited On+On on several occasions while on vacation and I must give credit where credit is due. Stacey has always been very sweet and pleasant. It really upset me to read a comment stating how rude she was. Stacey, keep up the good work and don't listen to negative comments from people who are just out looking for freebies!! read more

Fire .. healthy hearty meals . You can literally eat here everyday that's how good this spot is

Favorite place for lunch . It's healthy and has brown rice options too. The cilantro sauce is tasty . Con: they don't let you put more than 2 scoops of cilantro sauce which makes the bowl dry sometimes read more

What a great idea! It's like Chipotle, but healthier and yummier bowls (and no burrito options). Found this place on a fluke and I'm so happy I did. The beef is my favorite protein choice and I personally love all the vegetable toppings, especially the Brussels sprouts. They also top the bowls off with crispy shallots and roasted nori flakes (optional) and they're so good!! I didn't even need the sauces they provide, but they offer a variety of sauces as well. Their mango lemonade is house made and it's refreshing and not too sweet. Check them out if you're in the area! Highly recommended. Portions are huge too so I ate half and left the other half for later in the day :) read more

Great food easy quick and done right nice people took order over the phone very politely!!!

Chill place. Staff is nice and helpful. It's a tiny lot, so I'll forgive the lack of seating. The food is fresh and hot when you get to the table. I ordered the Korean rice bowl which reminded me of bibimbap but fresher because of the salad component. Hearty and pleasantly easy to chow down on. Just do yourself a favor and put peanut oil on it, really finishes the meal. I didn't try the lemonade they have, maybe next time. Price-wise, it's more expensive than similar places like. Chipotlé or waba grill. But considering the flavors in every bowl, it's comparable to a chipotlé meal with extra fixings. Will come again. read more

If you are looking for a spot that will guarantee left overs, on+on is your place. I can never seem to finish an entire bowl! There is a great menu to create your mini feast of a bowl. You get such a generous amount of food for an affordable price. The quality of the chicken ia a little but odd but other than that everything is tasty. read more

Everything was fresh and flavorful will be back soon to explore more of the menu, grilled chicken was good

First time I ever tried On+On I knew this would be my favorite spot. Everything is fresh and the juices are always so delicious. Would have given this spot 5 stars if it wasn't for the customer service. Employees need to be more helpful when it comes to ordering. Instead of looking at you with a blank face. Every now I then I get someone rude but I really don't care because I go for the food. read more

This restaurant reminded me a lot of the ShopHouse restaurants that popped up all over and are now closed. I felt a little rushed when I went to order. I informed the cashier that it was our first time here and then she slowed down a bit and was more informant. Being in a new location it would probably be a good idea for management to have their staff to say, "Welcome to On + On, is this your first time dining with us?" That would allow both parties to engage each other and make better dining decisions. The first thing I noticed was all the precooked meat sitting in the containers. Not sure how I felt about that. I almost asked how often they rotate the meat out or discard it. My daughter and I settled on sharing a spicy pork bowl since again, it was our first time. We had the white rice, spicy pork, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, fried seaweed on top, and the nori dressing. Not sure what made me sick, but I was burping up something awful when I got home, and I was in the bathroom throwing up until 3 in the morning. My daughter and I are still recovering from two days ago. read more

Ugh I love coming here! I don't think this place is expensive at all because they stack the bowls up and I can never finish it. People who complain about it not being enough are crazy! I get the bowl with brown rice, spicy pork, Brussel sprouts, corn, kale, cucumber, cilantro with cilantro sauce and hot sauce on the bowl with all three condiments they have and this hits! Usually only spend 10 bucks a bowl and the girls who work there are super nice! As for charging extras, people have to realize that it's a business and everything costs money, they have bills and people to pay. Quite frankly, I think it's too cheap for what it is! read more

Came to this place twice now with my gf and it's a wonderful place with hefty portions for the price! It's a unique spot, especially for the location of the place, but it does not take away from the different options and tastes to choose from! I genuinely feel like you can't go wrong with the toppings and items you choose here - they're all so good! Would definitely come back! read more

Love how you can customize and ordered out everything packaged well. Food tasty and cooked great! Loveeee

Food is good! That girl Dulce gives amazing customer service is and is cute too! Will go back!

This place gets 6 STARS! We randomly stopped in because we wanted to try something new. They had only been opened for a couple of months at that point. The restaurant was super clean, super cute, and the two individuals working there were delightful. They allowed us to sample the meats, and answered questions like a pro. We ended up making out own bowls, and the food was SO FRESH! The little toppings at the end of the bar really set it off! I am so glad that we stopped in here! The prices were great for the amount of food you get--I should say for as hearty of a meal it is. Very tasty! read more

I absolutely love On+On! I've only been to the Torrance location and was surprised to see another restaurant in Compton! I was scheduled to report to jury duty at Compton Courthouse and was unprepared for the entire day (didn't eat breakfast, didn't bring lunch). They generously gave us an 1hr 30 min lunch break where I quickly yelped a fast but healthy lunch spot. I saw On+On and was happily surprised! It took me FOREVER to find the restaurant.. For those who are unfamiliar (like me) this shopping center is HUGE! On+On is tucked away behind Dollar Tree and next to Steak n Shake. It was lunch time so the place was pretty packed but service was pretty fast. I ordered the chicken bowl with all the veggies, all the sides, and the nori sauce $8. Portions are huge! Refreshing, delicious, healthy, and affordable! What more can you ask for!! read more

This is hands down my favorite place to eat in the shopping center. VEGAN friendly some staff doesn't know exactly what is vegan (or what is a vegan lol), but they have a list in the back that's easily accessible. I get the buckwheat noodles, salad, sweet potato, zucchini, pickled carrots and onion, tomato, kale, broccoli, corn, cucumbers, cilantro, hot and nori sauce, and sesame seeds. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean and organized nicely. Only thing I wish they changed was the kimchi and kimchi products have fish oil. Kimchi is easily made without fish. Get on that because I want Brussels sprouts. Portions are large and though I usually finish my bowl, I could easily save half for later. read more

My coworker had raved about this the day before i visited, so she brought me along the next day. We arrived during prime lunch time 12:30pm and the line was fairly short. I love the idea of preparing the meal in front of you and they had a good amount of options to satisfy everyone's tastebuds. The service was fast and we were in and out in about 10 minutes. The price for what you get is decent as well, $10 per bowl and it can easily be split into two meals. Do yourself a favor and try the kimchi Brussels sprouts, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked!! I enjoyed my meal so much, that I was already thinking of all the other varieties of bowls I can make before I even took the last bite of the one I was eating! read more

This place is so good. The food is fresh, and you have a smorgasbord (literally) of all that you would want in a bowl. It's yummy, satisfying and you get exactly what you want - decadence without the hunger pangs, and no guilt trips about eating things that you should (mostly) leave behind after the age of 30. I just became hip to this place only a few months ago and now I'm a regular customer. Steak and Shake and Jersey Mike's flank this spot in the Gateway, so it's very tempting to venture in those stores. However, the succulent flavors and yummy lemonade options they have in there give this place two thumbs way up! read more

This is a delectable addition to the already exciting list of options in the shopping center located at Alameda and the 91. I am always looking for another fresh salad option near the office, and On + On has become a quick favorite. The build-your-own format keeps things quick and customized (although they do seem understaffed at lunch), and everything I've ordered has tasted great! Although I usually get the salad base, the kimchi rice is everyone's favorite. I love the Brussels sprouts, pickled onions, and sauce selections. The salmon is consistently absolutely perfect. PERFECT, I say! In fact, don't order it because I want it all to myself. If you like a heartier meal, don't worry- in addition to the kimchi rice, you other base options like buckwheat noodles, white rice, or brown rice. The spicy pork or beef are really flavorful, and the chicken is another great healthy option. I'm hoping to see another location closer to home soon! read more

It's an Asian Chipotle. Simple and clean ingredients. I got a build your own bowl w spicy pork, brown rice and salad, w almost all of the toppings. I really appreciate the variety of veggies they offer. The only thing I wish they had was actual kimchi! Pretty good portions. I ate one bowl for 2 meals. I actually ordered 3 bowls online for myself and my coworkers. The online ordering was really easy to use and prep time was pretty quick. When we arrived at the shop for pickup, the lunch line was already getting long. Definitely recommend ordering ahead of time, if you're trying to maximize your lunch hour! read more

Best food I've had in a while! You will not be disappointed. Salmon is awesome and the chicken is very tender

I see this place when I pass by a bridge on my way to work but never really tried it until last week. Big mistake. Big mistake for just ignoring it because it is actually really delicious! So delicious I ate it three days in a row. I ordered half salad, half soba as my base and salmon for my protein. The nori sauce? My favorite! I even told the ladies they should start selling it because I would buy a tub of it and bathe in it! It's that good. The green sauce is the creamy cilantro and the darker one is the nori sauce. read more

My 1st time coming to this restaurant/food place, I really enjoyed the food. The staff was very helpful since it was my 1st time ordering so didn't know how things work. I was ordering three bowls since I was getting food for myself and my family. The staff was helpful, not only food presentation was great but more importantly for me food quality and taste. I'm most definitely coming back again and glad Korean, Asian food is now near by. read more
