In 2017, my A/C unit stopped working on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend. I had a home warranty, but if you have home warranty insurance, you know how it goes: You call them. You hold for an hour. They take your service fee. You get transferred. You get disconnected. You call back. Wait again for hours for someone to answer the phone. You beg the warranty company to have one of their "licensed contractors" come out quickly because the outside temperature is approaching 118 degrees. You ultimately come to the realization that because of your crappy home warranty, you will probably be out of air conditioning for at least a week or two. You drink. Ultimately, the warranty company agreed to replace my A/C unit but they wanted to charge me an additional $3500.00 out of pocket to cover the new unit "government regulations upgrade". As a last cry for help, I contacted On Call Air. I spoke with Adrian and he could not have been nicer, more professional, or compassionate. He came out, fixed the problem for a few hundred dollars and it has worked perfectly from 2017 until yesterday. As always, my A/C unit began to make unconscionable noises on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend. Raphael (one of the owners) answered the phone after the first ring! He looked at the video that I sent him of my A/C and immediately assisted me with shutting off my A/C unit until they arrived. Adrian arrived within two hours to diagnose the issue. He told me that On Call Air does not contract with home warranty companies any more because they are so dishonest! Adrian diagnosed the issue and gave me two options: He could do another inexpensive "quick fix" or install a new unit (both cost options were very, very fair). I decided to go with the new unit installation...and this is the part of my review where a company transitions from awesome to exceptional.... At 4:00 PM, they drove all the way out to Riverside to pick up my new unit. They returned at around 8:00 PM and with limited lighting and while working in the heat, they installed my new unit. The crew worked nonstop, completing the job around 11:00 PM. The crew were so polite, knowledgeable, hard working, efficient, and above fair with their prices. I can see from all of the other 5 star reviews that these guys are completely legit! Highly, highly recommended!!!!!!! Saved by On Call Air twice! read more

Love this company! Some rats chewed into our duct work. After attempting to work with another company that ghosted us, On Call showed up as promised and got our duct repaired promptly and economically. They also provide some valuable advice for us to pass on to our pest control company. Thank you On Call Air! read more

After one of our 22 year old AC units froze up and nearly started a fire in the fuse box, we had no idea who to call. We called one company who came out and shocked us with the bid. On Call was recommended to us. This was Friday and Raphael responded within a couple hours. He confirmed the unit needed to be replaced. As busy as they were, they set us up with an install for Monday. They saved us a bundle, no up selling and were the most honest and courteous team. Do not hesitate to call them for your heating and air needs. read more

As I rarely write reviews I took to task commenting on my recent experience with On-Call Air Conditioning & Heating. I was experiencing forced air unit failure and contacted the company explaining my issue. I was told as old as my FAU was I more than likely needed a whole new unit. An appointment was made and they arrived right on time. Dressed professionally they went right to work. Twenty minutes later the vents were blowing like crazy. I can't thank these gentlemen enough for their expertise, knowledge of my equipment, and more than fair rates. I highly recommend their service to anyone who is in need of repair, service, or sales. 100% satisfied customer! WPF Palm Desert, Ca *SIDE NOTE: Being a disabled senior one trait I noticed right away was that this group exercised a great amount of patience. Everything associated with with this matter was explained in layman's terms and all my questions were answered to my understanding and satisfaction. read more

This Company would get 10 Stars from me if possible. On one day notice they installed an A/C unit and fixed a sloppy job the furnace company did. All in under 3 hours!!! They couldn't be nicer or more professional. Jesse and Adrian should be immitated by every business owner. You cannot go wrong selecting On Call Air Conditioning & Heating...I will never use any other company for this type of work. OUTSTANDING!!!! read more

Really great service! Just had our semi-annual maintenance done by Adrian so we are ready for the heat! Their office actually called me to schedule an appointment. I love that I don't have to remember to call them. They gave me a 1 hour window and showed up within that time! We actually first used them about 2 years ago when our AC went out. Adrian recommended we do a maintenance "tune up" twice a year to avoid any problems. They will change out your filters and clean the AC unit aside from checking the compressor, condenser, etc. Never fun to have your AC go out in the middle of summer! I have been so impressed with their customer service, timeliness, and integrity! read more

On Call Air Conditioning & Heating - From covered in dirt to clean! - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Indio, California

We discovered our second AC unit wasn't working near the end of a 114 degree day the Friday before the summer's last three day break from office life, being Labor Day weekend. And of course, it's the AC unit that cools the bedrooms, so after some unsuccessful amateur diagnostics, we had the option of sleeping in a sauna until Tuesday or calling someone for professional emergency AC repair. On Call AC was an easy choice based on the reviews on the yellow pages search results and our experience echoed those of others. We called and Carlos answered the phone, acquired some basic information, hung up and then he returned my call within a few minutes stating Dennis would be here in about 30 minutes. Dennis showed up shortly thereafter, promptly diagnosed the problem and told us what it was, offered us options to fix and after we chose, he fixed the unit and all was good for the long weekend. The time from my initial phone call to writing the check after complete repair happened all within one hour, and on a holiday weekend! Granted, he had the parts on his truck, there was clean and clear access to the unit and he lived nearby, but was it was a great experience without inflated service fees and would recommend this company to anyone. read more

Prompt professional courtesy knowledgeable A review needs more words well it was an easy service necessary not sure how it Compares price wise since my first service but no hassle and I'd use them again read more

By far the best HVAC company I have ever used! I love the fact that they are available 24/7. In this hot desert that makes them so very much appreciated and valued. I have two rental properties and they have been there within the hour to repair any time the AC has gone out. I have used them for 8 years and am always very satisfied. Very affordable rates. The brand new AC I purchased last year for one of my rentals is top-notch! Friendly fast and always explain everything in detail that I can understand. I highly recommend then! read more

Dennis and his crew were absolutely amazing. As a woman, I was very nervous to have someone come to my home and if they would take advantage of my lack of knowledge in air conditioning. Dennis was very informative. He knew exactly what my problem was and quickly fixed it. He showed me on the voltage reading that a little canister looking thingy was burnt out. He replaced that. I then asked if I needed freon. He said he would let me know. He then called me out to show me the reading on the freon level. It showed normal range. He totally could've said I needed it and charged me but he didn't. I'm incredibly grateful that I know in the future what to ask for and how I can be shown to make sure I'm not being taken advantage of. His fee was less than I thought it would be and I'm incredibly grateful as I was using money from my grocery budget. THANK YOU Dennis! There are still honest businessmen out there read more

I moved away from the local area and gave them a call when my furnace started acting up. I thought I would be well out of their normal service area. But surprisingly one of the techs happened to be in the area on personal trip and stopped by. Above and beyond! read more

These guys were fantastic and reasonable, quick and customer oriented. My old unit blew the capacitor and a week later blew the compressor. How many times have you wondered if you can really trust your AC repair place? I can honestly say that if there is an AC repair business to trust (out of the hundreds of choices in the desert), it's On Call! I have been using Dennis and his amazing staff at On Call for over 5 years now. When my entire AC blew up this past week...they were available, even on the 4th of July! The customer service is very good, even the dispatch gal is so nice. read more

With the temperature hitting 115 degrees, our A/C decided that was the best time to go on strike. We called On-Call & immediately spoke to Dennis when I just got an answering machine for the other 5 star listing on Yelp. Dennis gave me an approximate time they would be out and, when the time got close, he made the decision to come out himself rather than call to tell me it would be awhile longer. He had the problem diagnosed in 5 minutes, fixed in 10, and for a very reasonable price as well. I am definitely signing an annual maintenance agreement with this company as they both know what they are doing and go above and beyond in getting you up and running again ASAP!!! P.S. we are up & running and I STILL haven't heard back from the other 5 star! read more

Got home from our little trip about 10 p.m. to our home with a 100 degree temperature inside. After checking out the many air conditioning companies, I decided to give ON CALL AC a shot. It was a 55 dollar service charge and they showed up when they said they would show up. Dennis the AC TECH showed up with a great attitude. And make a long story short he walked me through the process . Unfortunately, it was the motor, but after he was finished I knew that I didn't get ripped off or was taken advantage of. He did a great job and he fixed it in no time and waived the service fee.. As a matter of fact I'm going to make OnCall a/c - my air conditioning provider. Being 54 years old and living in this desert most of my life, that was probably the best air conditioning service I've had. Thanks a lot guys! read more

On Call came out to do semi-annual maintenance for the air condition which runs constantly for about 4 months. They also changed the filters. He recommended a part and explained the pros and that it was not essential. There was no pressure at all. In fact, he explained it to a friend over the phone. He measured for the filters and came back with them promptly at the time that was convenient for me. I asked for an annual contract and he wrote it on my invoice so there will be no discussion in the fall. read more
